Went for my first trip to Radish today, & I have to say it has lived up to the hype & expectations. We were the first table to arrive & got the pick of the place. It is so well done for a smaller dining room, from the tiling on the bar, the beautiful collection of cutting boards on the wall, the lovely artsy painted radish & the jars of house made pickled vegetables lining the front windows. Our server, Lisa was extremely welcoming, as she was quite joyously making table arrangements of lovely flowers when we arrived. We perused the menu & I chose the lavender haze mocktail for a drink & the crab beignets for an appetizer. Both were equally beautiful and delicious. My mocktail was well balanced and would have made a delicious cocktail had I been in the mood. For lunch I decided on the beet and burrata salad and my sweetie had the catfish sandwich. My beet & burrata salad really hit the spot after the rich yet delicate crab beignets. The catfish sandwich was extremely tasty with the perfectly balanced house made pickles and "Caesar" dressing as the sauce. Their fries were perfectly fried as well. I made a stop in the restroom and adored the radish wallpaper & pictures, and I commented that the bathroom smelled like fresh baked brioche -- which Lisa said it was the bakery next door, Dolce' (which is owned by the chef's wife). She talked up the king cakes so much I had to go get one before our lunch even arrived (since there were very few "extra" king cakes left I am so glad I did!) All in all it was everything I hoped for and I wanted to try SO many things on the menu. I can't wait to go back. A new Mississippi favorite for sure. read more

What an amazing birthday dinner at Radish! Kayla was very knowledgeable and attentive! The mushroom risotto was fantastic! I've had gnocchi in Italy, and their gnocchi is second to none. It was soft and pillowy with a light cream sauce. The dessert was incredible. Vietnamese crème brûlée was phenomenal! A beautiful eatery tucked away in the old downtown area of Long Beach, it's perfect for a cute a date night. The staff were lovely and had plenty of recommendations. The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant is cozy and intimate. They have a fantastic happy hour. The food was delicious, I wasn't crazy about the pork belly as it was not as tender as I would of liked it to be but I do appreciate that their pork belly recipe isn't just a generic common recipe. First time trying Radish for lunch and our experience was delightful!!! Definitely going to come back for sure. Out of all the favorites we ordered, the one that I can't wait to eat again is the fried green tomatoes (get it as an appetizer ya won't regret it) the flavors were amazing and it was my favorite dish! Our pasta and burgers were wonderful as well and full of flavor. Service was attentive and friendly. I really wanted to love this place..... The ambiance was nice and quaint, but maybe a little too pretentious. It was a hot day today, so we were hoping it would have been cold inside, but it was a bit warm. We started with drinks, old fashioned and a raspberry martini, both were good and priced well during happy hour! We ended up having all appetizers for our meals, hoping to eat lighter since it was so hot. We ordered the wedge salad, fried greens tomatoes with crab meat, roasted radishes, crab beignets, and beet/burrata salad. The fried greens tomatoes were very good and savory. We highly enjoyed these! The crab beignets started off very good as well but the more I ate them, the more they came off very sweet. Same with the beets and burrata, the vinaigrette was too sweet. The red beets were very vinegary but the golden beets were very good! And of course, you can never go wrong with burrata. The roasted radishes were too salty, yet the goat cheese and sourdough were good. I think with some tweaks to the dishes, this place has the chance to be amazing and I wish them luck in the future! My girlfriend and I were really excited to try this place out as we've heard good things about it. Restaurant is very small inside that's warm and welcoming. Our waitress was great and very knowledgeable with the menu as well. Started out with the pork belly bao buns which were amazing so we were off to a good start! We both ordered the filet special since it was Tuesday. We both ordered medium rare and mine came out medium which ended up being okay because my girlfriend didn't mind switching with me. I opted for the truffle fries instead of the mac and cheese due to a dairy intolerance & the fries came under cooked and soggy unfortunately... My girlfriend had the broccolini as her side and it was delicious. I sent the fries back and just asked for the broccolini Togo. The next day, my girlfriend tried eating the broccolini and it was prepared differently this time with chili flakes overwhelming the dish making it inedible. As much as we wanted to love this place, we were really let down with our experience with a bit too many mistakes in the kitchen unfortunately. Had lunch at Radish today. Finally got to try the Crab Beignets I've been hearing so much about. Let me just say that all of the glowing reviews of this dish did not exaggerate. No lies were told. They were ON POINT All of the flavors paired so well together. This is a new restaurant in Long Beach. Don't let the name fool you, they have plenty for meat lovers! My son was worried it was a Vegan restaurant when we arrived, but quickly saw there was plenty for him to enjoy. It's a small restaurant, very quaint. It is pricey, but we don't mind paying the price when we have good food and good service. There are only a few tables and you are seated closely to the tables next to you. I didn't mind that, but others might be bothered by the closeness of strangers. Very good food and great service! read more

This place really exceeded my expectations! It is super small inside and we didn't have a reservation but we were able to sit at the bar. Servers kept walking by with various dishes and our super kind and attentive bartender, Erika, would tell us what they were so we knew how to order. We started out with some cocktails. We were delighted to learn it was still happy hour so we also got a great deal. I got their golden cocktail (I forgot the name) but it came with an edible gold leaf which was super cool! We decided to try the radish appetizer and I'm telling you, DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS DISH! It was SO good! We saw others eating it and just had to try it and we were so glad we did. It was a cold night so we both opted for the ramen. It is a huge portion but it was so good. I wish it came with an egg because that was the only thing missing. Otherwise, it was super perfect. They have brunch on Saturdays which I've learned is pretty unheard of in the south so check them out for brunch, too! read more

Radish is amongst my favorite upscale dying experiences here on the coast. Everything on the menu has a unique flare to it. I also enjoy that it has the coziest atmosphere out of any of the fine dining restaurants on the coast definitely pop in and give it a chance. read more

This place is 5+ stars. First off - you really need to make a reservation. Full disclosure - we did NOT have a reservation when we showed up on a whim about 530pm on a Tuesday. We were asked if we had a reservation and wesaid we didn't, the hostess/watiress said "I think we can maybe fit you in. I looked around and only one other table had customers and there were 2 people at the bar. Now, mind you it's a quaint little small place, not a large sprawling dining room however I was a little bit "yeah right reservations....maybe you can squeeze us in.....whatevs". Well, not 10 minutes go by and every single group that came in after us was asked the same question - "do you have a reservation?" and those who said yes were seated and those who answered in the negative were told it would be a however long wait. So - long story even longer MAKE A RESERVATION. Extra points to Radish and the hostess/waitress who was able to find a place to get us in by just sheer dumb luck. Anyway on to what you really care about - the food. This was easily the best meal we had on this trip down to the coast, and easily the best meal out at a restaurant I've had in years. Chef does an excellent job all around, that thought that goes in to the recipes, the preparation of the meals, and the plating/ presentation. I guess it's just sad that I've gotten so used to whatever gets slapped on a plate and sent out to you at "regular" restaurants but I was truly quite impressed with the plating and presentation at Radish. We had a catch of the day which was grouper, a pork chop, duck, and a wagyu burger. Catch of the day was served with pickled fried cauliflower. Pork chop came with greens and grits and topped with a great Pickled mustard sauce (with whole mustard seeds). Oh - cocktails!! I was driving so I just stuck with iced tea but my wife had a cocktail and youngest son had a "mock"tail version of one of the cocktails. read more

I really enjoy this restaurant when it isn't busy! We typically go when a specific bartender is there because she is truly a great mixologist. Last night was a huge disappointment, but this is not the first time we have been let down by poor service. There was only one waitress and only one bartender for a night advertising for $5 old fashions and martinis. We could tell the waitress was overwhelmed by the crowd. The manager waltzed in about an hour after the crowd arrived and helped to crank out the drinks-which were rushed and not very well made. I paid $38 for my entree of 2 pieces of duck that were the size of my middle finger and half of it was fat and chewy and it didn't come with a side. Additionally, it took 45 min to receive my cocktail. Overall, I wouldn't come here on a busy day. Hope they improve soon. Update: changed my review to 4 star. I appreciate the prompt response from the owner and will try the restaurant again soon. read more

absolutely AMAZING food experience. if you're looking to go out with your s/o definitely keep an eye out for their date night specials. the service is always so so great. ally makes AMAZING desserts. this restaurant has given me more appreciation for high quality food and has even made me want to experiment more with my at home cooking. i came in for lunch a few weeks ago and over heard the table next to me inquire about food allergy concerns. there was a lot of things they were unable to eat and the owner personally sat down for a good 10 minutes and respectfully took his time to come up with a meal plan to accommodate for them. it takes a truly passionate person to take the time to make sure their food is accessible to everyone. as someone who has worked under a horrible restaurant owner in this town, it truly warms my heart to see the customers and staff taken care of. this is what long beach is about!! read more

The service was fantastic. The waitress was friendly and gave some great recommendations. The food was fantastic. Very fresh. We got the fig salad. The figs were delicious and the whipped feta. I got the butternut squash ravioli and they were very accommodating when I asked for the sauce on the side. My daughter got the hamburger and even the French fries were fantastic. They had a variety of interesting drinks they made just the way we asked for. I had a wonderful lemon drop martini while my daughter had a spicy margarita. We sat outside on the deck and there was a nice breeze. The deck had fresh herbs and tomato plants growing in boxes. It was lovely. read more

If you're a local and unfamiliar with William Rester and his previous Dolce Cafe in Gulfport - you've been missing out. But never fear for locals and visitors alike because he has a new restaurant right on the main drag in quaint Long Beach. A friend and I tried the new Radish this week for dinner and it was worth not eating lunch that day. Ha! With a tasty Radish Queen cocktail we snacked on the complimentary molasses cornbread (and scraped up the bits left stuck to the mini iron skillet). While the menu is tailored, everything sounds delicious so choosing just one app - the crabmeat beignets - was a hard decision but boy were they delicious! We both were struggling to choose between the fresh gulf fish and the shrimp scampi for entrees - so we ordered them both and shared. The gulf fish was flaky with a crispy topping and surrounded by some delicious sauce we kept dipping our forks back in and the tastiest roasted tomatoes. The scampi wasn't the typical but a delicious homemade pasta in a creamy, spicy, garlicky tomato sauce with the biggest shrimp you've ever seen perfectly cooked on top. We couldn't find the room for dessert...so we took it to go. An option of the "bakery cake slice of the day" (run by his also talented wife) was a very wise decision and we may have licked the boxes they came in clean. read more

My friend and I went for lunch the other day. Much smaller than I expected but nice and casual. Very, very pleasant and efficient server. She was great. I ordered the oft recommended crab beignets. For $20 I got 3 not quite golf ball sized beignets. I could see pieces of crab in them but they were pretty much tasteless. My friend agreed. Being a local, she ordered a side of their collard greens. She did not eat them. I am no expert but they were sweet which I guess is a no-no. Must have some balsamic vinegar/honey in them. We both ordered the mushroom gnocchi. It was supposed to be in a wine cream sauce with sage but nothing on the menu indicated it was going to be super spicey (no sage either). It was inedible. There were about 2 teaspoons of what looked and tasted like Lions Mane mushrooms in the sauce. I went through about 6 glasses of iced tea trying to fish them out of the sauce to eat. We ordered shrimp on top for an extra $8. Thankfully the shrimp were good so no complaint there - so we had something to eat. The waitress asked if we wanted to send the meals back but honestly with them batting -1000 so far, I did not want to bother. My lunch was over $60. Neither of us will recommend Radish or return. read more

The restaurant is very tiny, which we knew before going. I would recommend reservations. The atmosphere could be improved with better music and the lights could be lowered at night with candles or sconces. The service was fine- we had no issues. We started with the old fashioned and eggnog martini. I liked my martini, but my husband didn't love the old fashioned. They bring complimentary cornbread in a skillet that was extremely bland. Not even copious amounts of butter could save it. We shared the pork belly appetizer and while it wasn't bad, it was very overpriced for what you get (two bites of pork belly and grits in a ball like a boudin ball). We also shared the wagyu burger, which was good. We ordered it medium well and it was 90% pink, just as a warning to anyone who prefers their beef cooked more. We were warned of this by the waitress though. We prefer a little more flavor and spice in foods, as is in the traditional food down here, but I can definitely see this cuisine having it place for people who don't like cajun or spicy food. Upon arrival, he was disappointed to learn that' most of the items he wanted were served at dinner time which starts at 4pm. Anyhow, lunch or dinner he loved it. We sat outside bc our daughter loves being outdoor. Also, it's downtown Long Beach, so the street is very cute. Nice day to have a drink and grub. Waiter was attentive. Burger was the favorite dish, meat was moist and flavorful. The fries that came with was freshly made potatoes. Red beans and rice and our appetizer was good. the collard greens were sautéed differently, flavorful. The drinks, I'd say was least impressive.. for some reason my mule was very salty. Cute new restaurant on the main street in Long Beach. We went for lunch and the restaurant was full. Server seemed overwhelmed and it took a long while for our food to arrive. I selfishly hesitated in writing a review for fear this restaurant will get "too popular"...but I must share how incredibly delicious it is! As others have mentioned, it is small inside, with the tables close together, but the food and the service are top notch! If you are a fan of more adventurous flavors, and not the usual fried seafood and heavy cream sauces, this is the place. The dishes we tried were creative, fresh and scrumptious-the radish appetizer, the kale Caesar salad, the duck entree, fried brussel sprouts, and doberge king cake. The craft cocktails were spot on-so nice to enjoy fresh ingredients and not syrupy sweet mixers. Frankie was a super friendly and attentive server, and helped add to our enjoyable evening!
