I attended my freshman year (2023-2024) and had a mixed experience. I really felt that the school…read moregenuinely valued incorporating God into courses. I enjoyed the chapels and learned a lot. There are, however, a few red flags. As the majority of students play a sport at Bethel, as a student who did not I felt that the admin and programs were very biased towards student-athletes. All of the school's money was poured into athletics opposed to academics which is the major reason why I am transferring. They would never tell new students this but their science department, along with other departments such as psychology, as slowly deteriorating. I had several major courses that I was set to take my Sophomore year but no professors qualified and solidified to teach. I felt that this was very hidden from students as I talked to staff personally. I was very disappointed in their lack of honesty. In fact, a prof came into one of our classes to "assure" us that we should stay at Bethel and not worry about the lack of profs for the coming year. Her only "assurance" was that God would provide profs to fill the positions. Despite being a Christian, this does not guarantee that God will provide teachers. I had friends who were still at Bethel and in fact they did not have an in-person professor for ORGANIC CHEMISTRY. All of my friends failed or had to drop the course. Meanwhile, now that it is the Spring semester, Bethel students are in fact commuting to IUSB and paying the Bethel tuition cost for this class. Another factor is the cost of attendance. The cost is NOT worth the actual education/experience. It is crazy to attend a school for 42 k /yr that makes students commute to other local schools to take classes due to a lack of profs. Not to mention the living situations. The freshman female/male dorms are a joke. The rooms are very old and not updated. For the cost of rooming you could easily afford an apartment that is much better quality than the dorms. My door would randomly open almost every day as the lock was bad and despite filling multiple reports throughout the year was never fixed or looked at. The closet doors did not shut all of the way. The paint was chipping off of the doors badly and paint fell from the ceiling onto my toilet every day. I would say the same for many other buildings on campus. I did meet many sweet friends and had great experiences with the profs I did have, but it is NOT worth the money. If you look up recent tax forms for the school, you will see that they are loosing money and in debt which is why few of these issues such as teachers/facilities are not being addressed as they should.

The studio was a bast from the past. The tables where old school desks and the build was built in the early 1970. The teachers where great tap was my favorite and the offers combo classes for the littles so tap/Ballet. They offer a June show where the classes show off what they had work on for the year. The costume where adorable and not inappropriate. Getting more into the world of dance some of the costumes are more like undergarments with sparkles. Not this place modesty is very evident. This is where I lost my very first tooth in class the teacher had us do a special dance that day to a fairy song because that night the Tooth fairy was going to come to me. They loved teaching the kids and you could tell that they want the best for each dancer. The music was age appropriate as well with fun song that most kids know and the made the whole dance experience a enjoyable activity. This is a shoe tapping, Ballet twirling great leaping dance place.

I would highly recommend this place to display your art as an artist. The show was well advertised and there was a well attended first night opening.

Probably your best option around South Bend/Mishawaka…read more It was renovated in a major way in about 2015. Adding recliners to every theater. Sadly, this renovation included REMOVAL of stadium seating from the 4 newer theaters (it opened as Movies 10 in the mid-90s). Like... why? That's a downgrade, especially when many theaters around the world manage to have both stadium seating and recliners. The recliners do mitigate the bad sight lines of the lack of stadium seating, but why not both? The largest theater, #1, is now also a ScreenX. If you want to be in the largest theater here, it must be a ScreenX showing. I have not tried this format yet, but I love large format theaters (Dolby, IMAX, XD, etc.) and I would've preferred Cinemark's XD. However, they probably couldn't do an XD theater here without stadium seating. I do believe the main screen was made even larger for ScreenX, so if that format dies maybe they'll just let it be a large single screen in the future. So, there is STILL no large format theater within 20 miles of here, and it's not exactly the middle of nowhere. Other than the bizarre decisions on the renovations, it's still in good shape and has been well-maintained. In fact, it is much much nicer now than the former "Premium" option in South Bend, The Kerasotes Showplace 16. That theater is now an AMC Classic, and despite being newer, and boasting more, and larger auditoriums, is basically a dump which has literally never been updated since it opened in like 1999/2000. So, kudos on the cleanliness and overall pleasant experience, but some very strange choices on the updates. It's our go-to when I visit the area to see family.
