You are made to feel very welcome and can tell it's a family ran pub, that gives that "local pub" feel. Super tasty quality food, I noticed that on the menu it even tells you which farm the meat came from, or where the ice cream was made etc. The Greek Lamb and the Gammon are both brilliant. The portions are huge and I'm always left with enough food for another meal but save room for the Holly Bush sundae because you wont ever have a such a selection of tasty locally made ice cream :) The prices are great too, last time I went it was around 30quid for the 2 of us.

It has that cosy country pub vibe but with a gorgeous outdoor seating area all kitted out in pale wood. Actually looks like an ideal place for a smaller wedding or an occasion. I didn't have any food here but they pride themselves with a home made menu with lots of traditional pub meals. I saw a few plates get brought out and they were huge! I'd love to go back here on another hot day and eat outside. Lots of dogs and babies around the grass area, making it a more up market family pub set in pretty surroundings. Need to come back here!

Thursday night is cheap cider night so a good chance to get along and test out some new brews!! The pub itself is very spacious with rustic wooden floors and a homely feel. The garden out the back is huge with plenty of seating and is covered by parasols and heaters meaning you can stay relatively dry if the weather takes a turn for the worse. A top pub in the Stoke area and well worth checking out.

The cask ale selection is lovely which makes the Monday special of 50p off all the more appealing. So we've got walking distance and delicious ales as part of what constitutes "favorite" status. To this I will add that I enjoyed the music selection immensely. A really nice mix of old and new, all impossible not to just be happy about. After having a few pints we realized we were hungry. The aroma from nearby diners along with their "chips are to die for" comments encouraged is to take the plunge. A pate starter and classic pub dishes sealed the deal. We had a steak pie and a broccoli leek and cheese pie. Both amazing. We will be back. Probably on Monday.
