So this past Monday I went to see Donna. To be completely honest I was always suspicious of this…read morewhole color analysis thing. Couldn't I just use an app? Couldn't I just figure it out on my own? What could I possibly learn from this? Will it be worth it? I came in pretty confident that I'm warm toned. Oh baby, little did I know I was SO WRONG. My head is still spinning from how much I learned. She spent about 2 hrs to educate me on color theory and then put it into action with the color draping. She not only answered my questions, she showed me so I could see with thine eyes what happened to my complexion. I could truly see a difference in what colors made my skin. Donna is amazing at what she does. I left the session feeling informed and so grateful for my experience. If you are curious about color analysis in general, I highly recommend going to see her! I feel confident in knowing what makeup, clothes and even shoes to wear to look my very best. Thank you so much Donna! Lastly, if you're not convinced, swipe through the photos. The beige/orange colors make my skin look grayer and my eye bags darker compared to the black/flowery drape and red colors.

I booked a personal color analysis with Donna and have no regrets! Donna is a fantastic teacher and…read moreexplained everything so well in an engaging way. I loved that she had so many visual aids. I've seen other color analysis done with colored drapes but I really liked Donna's curated selection of clothing as an alternative. The clothing with it's various textures, sheen and depth made the analysis more grounded and real to me. I'm already a huge fan of wearing colors and was thrilled to learn that my instincts for color were mostly spot on. And now this explains why there's a few pieces of clothing that just didn't seem right to me. And I really appreciated that we figured out if gold or silver jewelry was better for me too! I'm approaching my current closet and future shopping with new eyes and feel empowered that I'd be making the right color choices for me. If color analysis is something you've been curious about, I highly recommend this service from Donna.

I have no idea why it took me so long to get an airbrush ... I am hooked! It was one of the best…read moredecisions I've made! Now my challenge, the makeup I was using (from another vendor) wasn't too great. Overall it was nice and had coverage, but I was having issues with it cracking on the skin. Let's put it this way, it looks fantastic on MY oily skin, but anyone else I used it on made them look like paint was cracking off their face!!!! What the....? So last year I was at the Face and Body show in San Jose and attended a Muse Beauty Pro class held by Alphonse Weibelt. His explanation of products, answering questions, and overall knowledge of Muse had me sitting on the edge of my seat. I was completely captivated and wanted to know more. I had the luxury of being able to speak with Alphonse personally, and he broke it down on all of the Kett Cosmetics. Since I had an airbrush from another company, he was able to recommend what I needed due to my challenges with my foundation cracking. I ended up buying the Kett Hydro Foundation Set and the Kett Hydro Shimmer Set. I LOVE this foundation. The bridal makeup that I have done over the past year has been phenomenal! Thank you Alphonse! Also something I need to point out -- I have been in the beauty business for over 25 years, and let me give you insight on our industry -- cosmetologists can be catty! We love to say what we think, and it's usually not very nice. (We talk major smack!) Most companies will put down another company in order to look good, and overall it just makes them look like they hate competition. The entire conversation I had with Alphonse was so pleasant, and not ONCE did he ever say a negative thing about the other company I was using, he even told me what I DIDN'T NEED since I already had it and would work well with Kett Cosmetics. I was so impressed with his professionalism and demeanor, and feel all of us in our industry should work with this standard.

I learned ALOT about not only the basics in Airbrushing but, makeup applicaton, foundations, concealing, contouring, highlighting, etc. I can create a longer list, but, I have to save some for myself so you would be motivated to take this coarse!! I thought I knew the basic things about all those things I mentioned. Boy! Was I enlightened! THANK YOU SO much MUSE BEAUTY - Brian Sutherby for knowing your craft well and having FULL knowledge of your products and being able to SHARE with us in a fashion that motivates!!

This is the absolute worst place I have ever been too…read more When I walked in I already had a bad feeling and should of walked right then and there. The place is really run down and old. In a weird area as well. I have no idea how any of the students get a job out of finishing this school, I have a solid feeling that the owner charges for this "school", and really the students pretty much get ripped off without any skills to get a career with after here. I came for a haircut and told the owner, another staff member, and the beauty school person doing my hair that I only wanted 1/4 inch trimmed. I looked down after about 15 minutes and it was more like 4 inches cut off! When I said something the owner asked like she did not know what I was talking about and said she was trying to do a silhouette look. What is that even? I had to walk out in the middle of my haircut. The student doing my hair did not even know how to properly wash hair either, she was and the whole school is a shit show.

I would actually rate this place 0 stars. I had the worst experience ever! I wanted to try this…read moreplace because their haircuts were only $10. (My friend goes to Paul Mitchell the school in Sacramento and they do really good work so I assumed this place would be similar. Nope!) I came in wanting just a simple trim. I got my hair washed in the beginning which was nice but then once the student asked me what I wanted, I could tell she did not know what to do and how to do it at all. The hairstylist, Sam, was way too gentle with my hair. I have very long and thick hair so I'm used to tugging on my hair pretty hard. She took forever to comb through my hair because she took like a minute on each little tangle. All I wanted was a SIMPLE TRIM with a slight V-line and a little bit of layers. I sat in the chair for THREE HOURS. In the end, I got no layers whatsoever, I got the deepest V-line, and it was so choppy! Her teacher had to be with us the whole entire time because the student had no idea what to do. The teacher basically had to do half of my hair, but it still came out looking like shit. I had to go to a professional salon so they could fix it and blend it out.

The only reason I give this school 3 stars is because when I went the coordinator was Ms Jackson. I…read morefelt that she was a tyrant with narcissistic tendencies. The politics and tension was insane between the teachers, staff, students and the higher ups never took the time to here what the students had to say. Everyone tip toed around Ms Jackson and even teachers left because they couldn't deal with the pressure. Even though there was a lot of craziness, there were some great teachers. Mrs Biagi was an amazing mentor and I feel lucky and grateful I went when she was still there teaching... I learned so much from her, Ms Smith was so helpful and encouraging, Ms Carmen not only hilarious but she is one of the reasons I past my state board with flying colors, Mrs Dinh is the sweetest lady not to mention she will help you to no end so you understand homework and test's, Mrs Pelayo was a great Esthetician teacher and was passionate about her craft. I'm speaking of my personal experience, but I can guarantee there are a lot of other students that can back up my opinion. I hope the school changes for the better of the future cosmetologist. It's not fun being committed to Monday-Friday 8-4:30 dreading the ridiculousness of teachers not getting along with students and other staff members.
