An excellent find on the main street of Dollar, perfectly placed to provide sustenance to those…read moreeither going up or returning from Dollar Glen. We both went for one of the specials, fillet of cod with hand-made chips, which was just delicious. Not a huge portion by any standard - only 6 artfully-arranged chips (but they were chunky), and a moderately-sized piece of cod, which was, however, perfectly cooked and delicious. A wee dish of home-made tartare sauce (also delicious) and a few leaves of salad completed the ensemble. At £6.50 it wasn't mahoosively overpriced, but felt a little bit on the steep side given that we're in deepest darkest Clackmannanshire. Especially as they followed with a latte at £3 and an Americano at £2.50... clearly Dollar is more upmarket than I had figured! However, service was fast and friendly, the food was very tasty, and the Americano was strong enough to satisfy even my caffeine monkey. Classy, but at a premium.

After a long and hilly walk, we were hungry and decided to give this place a try, being lured into the premises by a lovely window display. A few other guests were seated and there seems to be plenty of space for larger crowds to assemble and have some good times together. I believe you can eat there all day, at least from midday onwards. I could see some brunch/lunch and evening cuisine on their menu. However, they have strict serving times. We arrived at 4pm and they did not serve lunch anymore and of such offered only cakes and coffee....... Well, that's just fair :-) I ordered an Americano and they even asked me with cold or hot milk. That's very good service! The carrot cake looked so delicious, that 3 of us went down this way to order a piece. Whilst the carrot cake looked one of a kind, i felt, it crumbled easily and was hard to eat with a fork. Still, it was a nice taste and texture. Overall, this is a delightful place with excellent service and I will be back! Its also ideal if you finished your Dollar Glen walk up to Campbell castle and then arrive back in the village.

I would definitely recommend it to friends and family, however I do have a few small qualms with the place. It is a tad pricey, now I understand why - it's a small business trying to thrive in an age of fast food it has to be. So I can't blame the place, but people should know before going in. My main issue - and the reason it got such a low rating is the staff. There is a solid divide between the staff, some are lovely and have a jokey presence around them that truly makes you feel comfortable and is what made me come back. However some staff are incredibly rude. I'm not a very social person, so I don't mind people who aren't SUPER EAGER to talk, not to mention I work in hospitality and understand not always loving customers. But a few staff members are consistently rude, and standoffish. They have this pretentious presence and I can feel them rolling their eyes and scoffing at me. I just think a little goes a long way, and I'm not asking for much but working in a coffeehouse you can't complain you get customers. Overall a positive review for if you just need a place to study, eat, or get things done. But if you're looking to hang out with friends, you'll get eye rolls and scoffs. One more thing - there is a heavy distinction between upstairs and downstairs. If you're with friends please try get a seat upstairs, if you're downstairs it's incredibly library-esque, so not a hangout spot.

I would give it 5 stars for this, super cozy mugs also. But, we got sandwiches and they were tasty but a bit dry... the cheese/ha sandwich could have had a bit more filling and my pesto-sundried tomatoes-cheese grilled sandwich had a lovely taste but the bun was too dry, unfortunately! But, then again, the drinks were soooo soooo good for today's winter day! SO 4 stars, here you go!

I'd headed here based on recommendations from colleagues, and left pleased as punch. I've a feeling that D'Nisi is going fast become my go-to morning coffee spot on those occasions when the caffeine is a-calling; days like those are inevitable, and D'Nisi is waiting. It was busy when I arrived, with a steady queue of folks waiting. I received a warm and friendly welcome; not just at the desk but as I came in, which was lovely. Staff were working fast, and I had a wee wait, but I was happy to wait a tad longer for my latte to go considering just how busy it was. The result was worth every second, and I'm going to go all out and say that I think I'm going to struggle to find a better coffee in town. Delicious, and with a perfect frothy milk top. Ensuring that morning coffee from D'Nisi doesn't become a daily one...Now, that's going to be a challenge!

Well worth a visit or two.
