The walks around here are lovely and you're only a short drive from civilisation (Droitwich, Worcester and Bromsgrove are only a 20 min drive max). It's really a self catering apartment but Sybil will happily organise a continental breakfast for should you require it. Helpful, courteous, and attentive friendly staff, always there when you need them, but at the same time unobtrusive. The rooms are really spacious, bright & airy with lovely, modern decor, and as mentioned, spotlessy clean. All the usual room comforts are provided such as tea/coffee making facilities, ironing board+iron and TV. The bathroom was really gorgeous too with a roll-top bath plus walk-in shower. Expensive smelling toileties & beautifuly soft white fluffy towels completed the superior ambiance of the whole building. Breakfast was a delightful experience, with excellent quality locally sourced food, and plenty of it. Some things were even home-made too, like the delicious jams and marmalade. Oh, and better not forget to mention that they also cater for veggetarians. There is lots of attention to detail here, with everything you could want to hand - and if it's not there just ask, & you will be given - with a smile, I might add! I can't praise the owners high enough for their unwavering consideration towards their guests, which in my opinion more than ensures return visits, and plenty of them! It has a large, beautifully maintained garden with views of Ludlow Castle and a local church. The garden abuts several green fields, in one of which cows graze. There is a small wooden table and chairs at which it is very pleasant to sit and relax and admire the wonderful view. My friends and I were served morning coffee there. It's all delightfully bucolic. The house itself is a large detached building, circa 1930. There are three spacious bedrooms. I stayed in The Lawrence, which is basically a suite of rooms - a bedroom, a bathroom and a separate toilet - with its own door. It was extremely comfortable, with all mod cons, eg a television and tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast, which is freshly cooked to order and delicious, is served in a room downstairs. The proprietors are very warm and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Prices are very reasonable - I paid £65 a night for sole occupancy of my suite of rooms. Whitfield House is excellent value for money. It's the best B&B establishment I have stayed at (and I've been to a fair few!). I recommend it unreservedly.

A gravelled drive leads you to the front of the house, which is surrounded by mature trees and we were greeted on arrival by the owner's friendly dog 'Rodney Rocket'! After a very welcome cup of tea and piece of cake, the owner talked us through some of the best places to visit or to eat in the area, like the Ludlow Food Centre and the Jolly Frog restaurant; both of which we tried and were well worthy of their recommendation. Our room, the 'Lawrence Room' was quite sizeable, with a separate toilet and bathroom, with a cavernous bath, and the sun-soaked main room, had a feeling of space and a comfortable king size bed. Of course, not forgetting the amazing views, over into the landscaped tiered garden, the rolling fields beyond and Ludlow Castle in the distance. A decent sized TV and a good selection of tea and coffee too. Breakfast was served in an equally impressive room, with wood panel walls and well spaced tables. A great variety of fruit, cereals and fruit juices to start, and then a great Full English Breakfast, making full use of local produce, one of the nicest I've had for some time; the scrambled eggs were particularly fine! The owners and staff were friendly and helpful, and the walk into the centre of Ludlow was just right, at about 10 minutes. Whitfield House is a such a peaceful and restful place to escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life; waking up to just the sound of the birds in the morning was fantastic.

I found this place whilst searching for a cottage for 6 people in the Oxfordshire / Cotswold area…read more The photos and descriptions on the Internet do not do this place justice. It is far better than I ever expected. It is located in the village of Hazelton which is not far from all the beautiful villages in the Cotswold and whilst this village is very small and does not have a pub most of that is only a short distance away. The house itself is beautiful fully renovated and has a very well stocked kitchen and all pots and pans are of good quality. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms in total so plenty of space for people to share. The beds are really good and the linen is of excellent quality. They have also provided excellent large towels and nice organic soap in the bathrooms. The outdoor area is also quite big and spacious and there is ample parking for 3-5 cars. All in all a really nice place and I would happily return here anytime to explore the Cotswold area. The view from the house is spectacular and it is located in a really quite village.

The couple that run the place are 1st class, the breakfast was excellent, the place is very clean and modern, but with an old wooden style too. The garden is impressive, and there are plenty of places to eat nearby, as they do not cook evening meals. They upgraded me to their master room, without any prompting from myself - because they were quiet - and they gave me some of their homemade cake to take to work with me. The bed was gorgeous, the surrounding area is gorgeous, the place is gorgeous! I would love to come back in personal time, stay a couple of nights, and walk the Malvern Hills - recommended, but not cheap.

We hired the whole hotel for 24 hours and these were a great 24 hours. The food served in the duration were great we also had people stop the night before the weding and the day and night after and the service was still top notch. Highly recomended either as a wedding venue, hotel, restaurant even to pop in for a cup of tea and cake! Lovely, welcoming reception staff. The hotel has a warm welcoming feeling and is very historical inside expecially the wooden pannelling and the beautiful room 4 with the hidden priest hole!
