This review is for the venue, not the event I attended. If you are looking for an event location, you should add this to the list of places to check out. The location is good - but beware of the parking. Do not park in the residential area behind the building, we got a parking ticket - $68 :( You can throw an event as small as 50 people all the way up to 400 people. I attended the Prettycity beauty sample sale and it was the perfect venue. There was a pretty big bar and the space was laid out nicelyl. I can imagine someone throwing a company party, wedding reception or even a bar mitzvah. Outside the building there was a parking entryway/driveway for the valet service. But like I said, if you aren't going to valet, be careful where you park. Make sure you read all the signs and avoid the costly mistake I made. read more

I've been to many events at The Mark on Pico and always enjoyed myself. It's a beautiful spacious venue. Indoors. Gorgeous and spacious foyer with an impressive bar and nice and comfortable furniture. Then there's a hallway that leads to the main room. Main room is also quite impressive and spacious. Also, attended an outdoor event in their parking lot with a tent. It was set up so beautifully. It felt really good to sit outside and not have to worry about the sun. They put out beautiful white table clothes and nice comfortable chairs. The staff here is always very professional, everything seems to be run very efficiently, and the events flow really well. Parking for these events, at least for the ones I've been to, is always Valet. I wish the restrooms were bigger though. Only two stalls for the ladies. But they are very clean. The space really lends itself to any type of event from corporate to weddings. Highly suggested. read more

First of all, thank you for having my guest and I. And for the review.... I've attended other events, mostly through Yelp and have seen my fair share of awesomeness! There will always be things that stand out and some points of improvement. I'm grateful for the opportunity and by no means trying to offend. I love that when you first walk in, the guests are greeted at the table and given a quick run down. Loved how the bar was the first thing I saw! Started with Mr.Bartender. What event can you start without a refreshment. I like how their were multiple bartenders keeping the lines short and at the same time finishing each drink off with quality and love! Now that my mood was set right, off to feast! My first stop was at Chef Warren's booth. I could smell the aromas from the bar! I knew I had to try it. I think after having his gumbo the standard was set really high! I remember the other food but the gumbo here..OMG! So I made my way through the crowd only to notice a lack of trash cans! While juggling my cell phone, trying to take pictures of the food, holding small plates and balancing my drink, I knew I had to dash towards a trash can to start freeing my hands! Yes I did see them, maybe like 2 in each side of the room...but it was still a problem. I saw many people spill food and drinks. In the second room where Maggiano and Lawry were located, many people used the beautiful center tables to pile it with trash. While having our delicious hors d'oeuvres and enjoying the beautiful decor, it was not pleasant to smell or see leftover trash piled on. My suggestion would be to not place trash cans so far apart. One side of the room to another is a long ways considering when the room is packed. Also, having the guys who did do a good job emptying the trash come by from time to time to check and clean the tables would be great. The floor was also wet from drinks, making sure no one slides is a Plus! :) Lastly, my real problem third room. The DJ! Most people said it was great. I actually disagree! The music was overly loud to the point where you had to yell just to be heard. It almost took away from the interaction. The music choice, in my opinion wasn't the most crowd oriented. John Hart's, "Who Booty" followed by Kid Ink's "Show Me"" isn't something I would play to this crowd. Lol, these are songs I do enjoy, however it was very weird hearing an older woman greet someone she recognized at a bar mitzvah while Chris Brown was singing in the background "Baby let me put your panties to the side, I'mma make you feel alright." It was one of those " You had to be there" moments I kid you not! My guest and I did enjoy our evening. Thank you for the experience and the dedication and time it took to put this together. So I guess this is more of a review for the crave expo event on behalf of yelp even though this was a less traditional yelp event. First off I was not ready for the parking situation. $8.00 valet in the middle of the day!!! We got lucky and found a spot in the neighborhood as a valet was picking up a car. Next, it was a hot day outside and the event inside was no different. Not good for trying to taste elegant food. There were 2 bars that were serving 8 different signature drinks. I had both the bourbon based drinks and they were wonderful. You could still taste the bourbon thank goodness. There was also a refreshment station with fancy water, bottled water, and soda. This was very important to cooling off. The vendors. So this event seemed to be geared to the wedding crowd. Yeah it was a bunch of caterers but it almost seemed like something a couple or a bunch of bridesmaids would do. After all, everyone there was dressed like they were at a wedding already. I think the yelp crowd missed that memo. Being that the caters were targeting wedding and events, the tastings were all pretty high class fanciness. Giant tortellini, ice cream made in front of you, sashimi, frozen coconut milk pops, perogi's, French Filipino fusion, Thai, many desserts, sushi, creole, Greek, Spanish, and of course the champagne ice luge. There was also a elevator music band on a stage. The layout of the event center was nice. 2 main rooms with a nice open layout. I was very impressed and enjoyed myself very much. Attended the Crave Expo last night and left with a happy belly and treats. Macaroons, shrimp & octopus ceviche, grilled bulgogi quesadilla, and the seafood gumbo were the highlights for me. And I'm not even including the open bar :O All of the vendors were awesome and explained everything in great detail. Banchan A La Carte was my favorite with their bulgogi quesadilla, bacon bahn mi, and crispy rice with spicy tuna were so ball bustingly good. The venue itself would be great for a huge party/wedding. Super clean, spacious, and with valet parking for $8. read more

I attended a family reunion (of sorts) here on Saturday night, 4/26/15. I never knew this place existed before the invitation. I was very impressed with the accoutrements and atmosphere of this large party space. Huge bar in the front room with VERY experienced/professional bartenders. Appetizers/fingerfood (quesadilla, skewered grilled teriyaki salmon 'bites') prior to dinner was served on platters by roving waiters/waitresses and multiple chips, veggies and salsa stations were sprinkled about, convenient to wherever you were standing. Buffet style dinner was several food "stations," including but not limited to Asian cuisine (ramen noodles, Chinese salad, chicken satay and beef satay, etc.), soft Tacos (Ahi, chicken, short rib), etc. Each and every staff member, including security personnel, were friendly, efficient and professional. Valet parking here was efficient and, if you don't like to use valet, parking on the street is do-able, but you may have to walk a couple of blocks. read more

I have performed two events as a dj at the Mark now. It's a cool spot. The acoustics are pretty good. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is very good. They do have valet parking available. Street parking is free nearby after 6pm. read more

We just threw a big partyhere. 200 guests. The food and the service were excellent! We received only compliments from our guests. Pedro was amazing with the set up, decor and lighting. Adam, the catering manager for the evening, made sure everything flowed smoothly. Several of the spa events I've attended for Pretty City took place at the Mark for Events. I enjoyed this venue each time I visited. The place was spacious and nicely decorated. I believe they have valet parking in the front but I never had trouble finding street parking nearby. read more

Came here for a college alumni event for drinks and apps. The venue is a nice, square room with a bar and interesting display of appetizers. Some of the displayed appetizer plates were "suspended" in the middle of the room. Typical appetizer fare with cheese, crackers, won tons and mini reuben sandwiches. Cash bar. Staff or caterers serving us were professional. Street parking is scarce in a residential neighborhood, so most likely you will need to valet. Valet is $8 + tip. read more

Came here for the Anti-Valentine's Day party and it was a pretty good time. It's not exactly my scene so I'd actually probably give it 2.5 stars but I'll round up to give them the benefit of the doubt. The decor was nice, with plenty of tables and room for people to mingle and an interesting use of light and colors. Unfortunately, I don't think it'll do well if the crowd isn't big enough. Even though there were plenty of people there, it actually felt empty because there were big pockets of unused space. The crowd was mostly young, rich types, dressed to impress. I was in a sweatshirt and felt a little out of place but I didn't have time to change after work. There could be some cool events here, especially if they do more drink and food specials like tonight (buy one get one free drinks and free tasting plates during happy hour). read more

I went to the Crave Expo at this venue. The event was wonderful! We had a great time. This venue is in LA, bordering Beverly Hills. I am sure it is expensive, but there isn't much to it. It is just an empty venue, plain walls and concrete floor. It is one of those venues that has to be done up, but provides the space where lighting, drapery, decor... make it look like the parties and weddings you see on tv. The bar in the venue is a long one near the entrance, which would be great for any event held here. The Mark for Events catering had a booth at the expo and it was one of the top ones. Went to Crave Expo this past weekend and The Mark For Events was one of the vendors hosting. The venue was amazing. The Mark for Events had three separate rooms. The first room was very warm and woody. Perfect for a bar / photobooth area. The second room was very clean, white, and modern. Perfect for the wedding ceremony. Third room has the stage and would be perfect for a reception. I could picture a 100-150 person wedding here. One star off for $8 valet -_- read more

First of all, let me begin by writing that unlike some of the other reviews, I was not just a guest at a party at The Mark. My wife and I had our wedding reception at The Mark, so we can attest to the company's quality in a much more comprehensive way. The reception itself was fantastic! The managers and staff were very attentive throughout the whole process. Moreover, the prices are far more affordable than many of the hotels/event spaces in Los Angeles, without foregoing any quality. In addition to beating other hotels on price, you can make the space anything you want; instead of having a generic hotel ballroom wedding. Lastly, all of our guests commented on the delicious food. There was no rubbery chicken in sight, just great medium rare N.Y. strip steaks and perfectly cooked sea bass for over 150 people. read more

I attended Monte Carlo Casino Night, which is a fundraiser for ICRF (Israel Cancer Research Fund) this past weekend and I am very impressed with this locale. The space is beautiful and versatile. It was completely transformed and able to accommodate the numerous guests that were in attendance. From the parking attendants to the bar staff to security, everyone was extremely well-mannered, friendly and efficient. There were silent auctions, blackjack tables, russian roulette tables, texas holdem poker, a dj, a dance floor, an open bar, a food buffet, etc. and everything flowed magnificently. I would certainly consider this venue for a wedding or other special event. Highly recommend it. read more

This is a spacious setting, suitable for all types of parties, and it was effortlessly transformed to match my creative vision of a "nightclub with a DJ". The staff was polite, professional, creative and caring in planning and executing my party. Attended the Crave Expo here. Pretty cool, versatile space. Hard to imagine having a wedding reception here with all the different rooms/walls, but I'm sure it's been done. Saw a picture of a fashion show being shot here and the lighting and bar scene makes it actually great for a party or prom. You can probably host around 300 people here comfortably. Any more than that and it might feel too crowded. The only downside is the parking nearby and the area is just alright. From the outside you can't really tell what it is, but inside is a different story. read more

I experienced this new event space when covering a media event, and it really was impressive. It may look unassuming from the outside, but once inside, there's so much you can do with the space. For the event I was at, it helped that each room had different lighting and that there were in fact three separate rooms. Each one was themed for the event that I attended, and the possibilities are endless if you just put some creativity into it. I really like the front room to the left, because it has great natural lighting. Great for photography and just a bright feel. The back room is darker, with potential for spotlights and other creative lighting to create more of a night ambiance. Valet parking was $8 when I went, and I'd say that besides the tough parking situation if you don't want to valet your car for some reason, this venue is absolutely wonderful! read more

I attended the anti-Valentine's Day party a few weeks ago. The entertainment was awesome, as they had a few artists, decent DJ, and a psychic. The staff also passed around free appetizers. The crowd was eclectic. I think this place has a lot of potential. You don't run into the typical Hollywood crowd which I avoid at all costs! Also the food is great! Try the chicken tacos. i came here for a company holiday party and really enjoyed my time here. there was free valet available to our party and the location was not too far from our office (located in west LA). the space is great for parties and has everything you need...a big bar, dance floor, lounge areas, a somewhat separate room (it's shaped in a "L") for dining, etc. FOOD: i think you have to cater with this place but double-check if you're interested. for hors d'oeuvres they served potstickers (6/10) and risotto cakes (8/10). for dinner they had 3 separate sections...1st section was paninis (4/10), 2nd section was chicken & waffles (9/10), 3rd section was asian food which included korean beef skewers (8/10) and salmon skewers (5/10) and salad served in cute chinese to-go boxes (8/10). SERVICE: the servers were very polite, helpful, and nice. ENTERTAINMENT: this varies depending on who plans your event & how much you want to spend but for our holiday party we had raffle drawings, dancing, and a photobooth! read more

Went to the "Off The Mark" tuesday nights... I think they are theming every Tuesday night differently...when we went there was cabaret theme with a great tap dancer...never saw someone do this to modern music, very cool...staff was dressed in the cabaret theme and super friendly.... The food was all French...country salad, onion soup and mussels were magnificent, all for under $10 bucks... This place is huge but very comfy with plenty of lounge space...place is a killer find... Discovered this place with some friends recently, the food was amazing for the cost! It was Mardi Gras, the place was really festive and the service was great. Our server Diane was such a sweetheart! You can have a private or public party at this venue. The banquet hall is pretty good size but not the biggest around. They will provide all the food and drink at a price. Think they have a hard liquor license but ask first. They can do kosher and non-kosher dining as needed. I believe this property is controlled and owned by the family that has the delicatessen up the street by the name of Factor's. Seem like nice folks and they appear to know the food business and how to do the menu up right. Parking is lacking but they usually have valet service for a price (welcome to LA!!!!!!) Great place for a party but you may not have a complete car when you leave. Went to an event there a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Beautiful venue - great atmosphere and food. Very well laid out. The problem was when I retrieved my car from the valet. They returned my car with my driver's side mirror hanging by a wire and completely mangled. Of course we all took pictures, they took my number, gave me theirs and swore they would be in touch the next day when the main office was open. Needless to say they never called me. I called for days and days and they would not even pick up the phone. The people at The Mark gave me an alternative number but when they refused to answer that number as well, The Mark about did not follow up on the message I left for them as to the situation. One of the things I love about THE MARK, is their ability to make your event as intimate as you would like! The rooms are versatile enought to make a party of 40, as well as, a party of 400 feel comfortable! If you are looking for a place to have ANY type of reunion, wedding party, religious ceremony, Oscar party or even a Super Bowl blow out, THE MARK will not disappoint! On each occasion I have been to THE MARK, the room had been decorated beautifully, according to the theme of the day or evening. One of the weddings I attended, the brides dream was to have a fairy tale wedding with all the glitz and glam, but elegant and classy. What an evening that was, everyone was impressed with the beauty of the room along with the VIP treatment the guest were all given by the attentive staff. Impressed, I was beyond! Several weeks prior, I attended a smaller birthday party for a friend of mine who is a sports junkie. The room was a sports fan dream! Each of those events were completely, different and beautifully executed! If I had been taken there blind folded,I would have never imagined I was in the same place! The catering for each of those events were top notch as well! The spread for the casual birthday party would exceed anyone's expectations in quality and presentation! The formal sit down dinner at the wedding reception, fine dining at it's best. I heard through the grapevine that the owner of THE MARK has been successful in restaurant business for many years. This could explain why everyone at THE MARK understands what great food and hospitality means! With all this being said, I am a nice person, but NOT easy to please! I have been so impressed with THE MARK, I put together special evenings and events for charity, I have decided without a doubt, our next event and the one after will be at THE MARK!!
