This used to be known as the 'Farmer Giles' and is a veritable local institution. I can remember many a Sunday morning after a long Saturday night rolling along down to the Farmer Giles for a real traditional fry-up to help banish the hangover!
Overlooking the Market Place, it's a lovely basic cafe that does all the comfort-food meals you'd expect - pies, burgers, bacon & sausage fry-ups along with various specialities.
As well as the usual soft drinks, milk shakes are prepared frothing and fresh upon request.
The portions are always very generous indeed and the prices extremely reasonable. All the food is cooked fresh and is delivered to your table.
Unpretentious and clean, run by helpful local assistants, it's always a treat to grab a meal there. Definately the plate to go when you're feeling hungry and really want to tuck into a large plate of home-cooked plate of chips and whatever else you fancy! read more
