I actually found many pieces here that go with some of my collections. And I also found some great gifts for my family over the Christmas holiday. What I also love about this place is they have tons of unique local arts & crafts, jewelry & art! The first place I go when I need a gift for someone special. From the outside it looks like a small store but it goes way way back inside. You can spend all day here so plan ahead, there is so much to see, it's sensory overload in a good way. I have purchased many Rustic pieces from OKC to the Dallas farmers market. When I was in College I actually worked at the Rustic Furniture Store at the Dallas Farmers Market for a little while. I'm pretty much an expert on the process. Most of its imported from Mexico & I spend a great deal of time down there also. Anyhoo, some of the pieces here are very similar to what I am used to seeing & purchasing. However, their prices are just way to high here currently compared to Oklahoma/Texas. We just happened by while visiting Fort…read moreWalton Beach Landing Park (across from the back side of this store on Brooks Road) and were drawn to the glowing "Open" sign and the giant Coca Cola adirondack chair. Having no idea what to expect, we rang the doorbell for entrance and waited about 30 seconds for someone to unlock the door. Once inside, it was clear that this place had been accumulating weird souvenirs, Coke collectibles, vintage objects, and other odds and ends for decades. The small store is packed from floor to ceiling with knicknacks, assorted seashells, art pieces, and traditional beach town tourist junk that folks like me want to bring home as a memento of the visit. We found out that this store is one of the oldest continuously operated, family-run small businesses in Ft. Walton and will celebrate 50 years in 2022. The friendly lady behind the counter seemed to know details about everything in the store and was very engaged with all the customers. Our visit was brief, but I picked up my 2 essential souvenirs (a koozie and a magnet) for less than $10, with a free seashell included. I was so happy to support a truly local business and have an interesting experience that I'll always remember. Thanks, Buccaneer Shop, and happy 50th!
