To my surprise there isn't enough organic produce or freshly caught fish. I would probably come here to get bread or a prepared meal, which they have a nice selection of. One morning, I was feeling particularly down and needed a fix. I trotted over to the bodega to get my fix and the son's owner chatted me up. He was really nice and even offered me a nice hot cup of coffee, on the house. I was speechless. He didn't know it, but he brightened my day. Sometimes it is the small things in life that matter.
