Since moving to the DMV I have been trying to get out more and explore. I wanted to try this place…read morefor so long and just finally had my first experience. I want to kick myself for letting it take this long. It is always so vibrant here, tons of people coming and going. Ample parking, both on and off street. A bunch of outside seating and just a crowd that is happy to be here. Then, inside, get ready for a sensory overload. All the aromas from all the different stalls will make you second guess where you will grab some grub. Then you might also want to graze...err, I mean browse on what to take home. I love exploring this place. I wandered around for quite some time until I zeroed in on where to eat. Even though this place is always so busy, it feels intimate enough to be alone in a sea of people. With that, I give you review 4400!

We decided to do our own little food tour within the market and sample some bites from a few stalls. We tried: 1. Masala dosa from Sambar & Spice. This may have been one of the best dosas I've ever had, and I'm not exaggerating. So epic! A must try, 2. Chicken dumplings from Laobun - soft, freshly prepared and melt in your mouth good. Also affordable! 3. Fish tacos from the famous seafood spot. These were sadly my least favorite item on our little food tour, the slaw was overpowering but if removed the pan seared fish was flavorless. 4. Wrapped up with some matcha and iced coffee - can't go wrong with those. Enjoyed browsing the little artisan stalls as well. An amazing stop on my trip to DC!

This was my 1st time at an Amish Market, and I was pleasantly surprised. There was a large variety…read moreof food to select from ranging from the bakery to fresh meats. It's set up like an indoor Farmer's Market, so prepare to pay for each area separately. The actual venue isn't anything special- you can tell the floors are old. At the front of the Market there's a stuffed pretzel section, however they only take cash for this area. Everywhere else I went they accepted credit cards. Looking forward to going back and trying the stuffed pretzels. I also noticed they had a sign for unlimited pancakes on certain days. I would be interested in trying those for sure based on the quality of food I got. The bakery items and meats I bought were thorough.

So happy this Dutch farmers market is relatively close! I love the huge variety of vendors--candy,…read morespices, chips, deli meats, condiments, pickles, a butcher, and tons of ready-to-eat options like baked goods, pizza, salad/sub bar, and smoked and fried foods. It may seem overwhelming at first, but it's actually easy to get around even when it's crowded. The lines are usually long, but they're very efficient. You grab a ticket to place your order, and things move quickly. Keep in mind there are extra charges for bags and card use. Cash is recommended, though cards are accepted at most stations (except the pretzel and ice cream lines). There is an ATM on-site. Note: The market is only open Thursday-Saturday, so plan ahead!
