Rochelle and Eric (pictured on the left) are so warm and welcoming. They've done B&B right. From the beautiful rooms to delicious breakfasts and coffee, tea and ice at your disposal right down to the provided Q-tips and cotton balls. We so enjoyed our stay at the Mason Cottage and look forward to going back again soon. Rochelle, Eric and their sweet dog Brady will always remain in my heart and memory .

My daughter and I just spent three wonderful days at The Mason Cottage. Our room (The Franklin Suite) was perfect for us as there was a separate nook for my preteen to have her space. Room is beautiful and beds are very comfy. Ro and Eric are authentically kind and welcoming hosts! Breakfasts are cooked fresh daily and absolutely yummy. This was my daughter's first B&B experience and I could not have picked a more perfect place. The B&B and Cape May are such special places! Thanks Ro & Eric!! - Amelia & Scarlett

We have been to Cape May many times over the years, but never stayed there. We usually vacation in Wildwood Crest but this year, because of the pandemic, our usual spot was closed for 2020. We've always wanted to stay at a Bed and Breakfast in Cape May, so we thought this was the perfect time to do it. Boy are we glad we did. Our stay at the Mason Cottage was wonderful. I'll start by saying we were warmly greeted by Jeff, one of the Innkeepers. He filled us in about what we needed to know during our stay. I have to say, him and especially Amy, couldn't have been nicer hosts. Just two very nice people and they made our stay extra special. We stayed in the Madison Room which was clean, cozy and very comfortable. In fact the entire place is very well kept and maintained. There are tables and rocking chairs along the front porch, a wonderful outdoor shower which my wife used on a couple of occasions, bicycles to use and coffee available 24/7. The breakfasts every morning are delicious and are alternated every day between sweet and savory. I posted some of them, including the Cinnamon French Toast, Ham Tomato and Cheese Strata and Raspberry Champagne Pancakes. All were preceded by a fruit cup or smoothie. In the mid-afternoons there is a always a special snack and an adult beverage available to the guests. During our stay we enjoyed cheese and crackers, hummus, fruit, lemon cake and cherry pie as well as Bloody Marys, special Rum shots and fruity Vodka cocktails. The location of this B&B is also great. One block from the beach and about a block and half to downtown Cape May. We were also within walking distance of every great restaurant we had reservations for. This was just a wonderful overall stay and we look forward to staying here again.

Our stay at The Mason Cottage was wonderful! If you're looking for the classic Victorian B&B experience, this is for you! Location was great and everything was just a quick walk away. We stayed in The Franklin Room which has a queen bed and a little nook with a twin bed. We adored the room! The decor was lovely and we enjoyed having the extra space. The room is on the 3rd floor so you just have to go up two flights of stairs. It's really only an issue when you are bringing your suitcases up and down because it's a tight squeeze, otherwise we had no problem with the lack of elevator. We loved the 2-course breakfast each morning. We stayed for 4 nights and there was always something new and exciting prepared each morning. There was always ample amounts of freshly brewed coffee provided with breakfast as well as a well-stocked Keurig available for use 24/7. Tea time was also fantastic! We were told it was "chocolate month", and every day at 3pm there was a tasty array of chocolate themed treats. SO fun! The only big negative was the wi-fi. I had trouble connecting anywhere in the house, and especially in the room (3rd floor). Keep this in mind if you plan to use your laptop/phone for any sort of streaming! The innkeepers, Amy and Jeff, were kind and delightful hosts. They were our favorite thing about The Mason Cottage and really made our stay a great one! Thank you Amy and Jeff!!!

We loved everything about our stay at the Mason Cottage. Patti was a wonderful host and provided us with everything we needed, from fresh baked cookies at tea time to restaurant recommendations around the area. The breakfast was also delicious. We stayed in the Decatur room and enjoyed the space very much. What we enjoyed most about the Mason Cottage was its amazing location. It it located on a beautiful street in a line of Victorian homes, and only a block or two from both the beach and the main shopping area. It was perfect! My boyfriend and I rented bikes at a shop within walking distance from the cottage and explored the island based on Patti's suggestions. We hope to make our visit to The Mason Cottage an annual romantic getaway! Cape May was a beautiful place to visit!

This was our first time here for my wife and I. Jeff and Amy were very friendly and did everything to make us feel at home. The rooms were kept very clean (we were in the Davis Suite), breakfast was great and there were bikes for you to rent and go explore, there are only 6 of them and it's first come first serve. There wasn't a time limit either. The beach is a block away and downtown Cape May is 2 blocks away. Between 3-4 o'clock I believe there was snacks laid out but we were never there to make it. The check in and check out process was easy and everything you can think of was provided for you. We will be coming back again

We spent a weekend at the Mason Cottage B&B. The hosts were nice, and they offer amenities like bikes and beach chairs. Breakfast, was very good but a bit limited in options (eg a small appetizer and breakfast entre but no Danish, toast, bagels, etc for those who do not enjoy the entre). The biggest issue we had was with the water: the house has some unusual plumbing system that puts out HOT water from the cold faucet. It was supposed to get cold after a few minutes but it didnt. We had NO cold water for about 95% of the time. Very unpleasant to have to brush your teeth with hot water, and to come off the beach at the end of the day to get a "refreshing" shower before dinner only to find there is NO cold water and the shower just makes you sweat. "Housekeeping" amounted to making the bed and providing new towels. They didnt wipe off the vanity or take dirty coffee cups out of the room. Also note that there is no on site parking and parking is a premium in that area of town. We got lucky with finding spots to park but it was not peak season. There are lots and lots of B&Bs in Cape May. We would not reccomend this one.

This was where they placed the coffee snd hot water.

This is a charming little B & B. It oozes charm. Patti is delighful, and her breakfasts were delious. Rosy, the cleaning girl did a great job. The proximity to the beach, the restaurants, the bike Rentals is something to keep in mind. Parking, is a little tight. But, when you find parking, leave it where it is, and walk.

    Afternoon Snacks.

Cape May is such a beautiful place. We had a wonderful time! The Mason Cottage was nothing shy of perfect. The whole house was designed so elegantly. The porch was a great place to relax and enjoy the the cool breeze. Breakfast was lovely! Afternoon Tea was so refreshing after biking to the lighthouse and back. There is just so much to do here. We will be back. Thank you Patti and staff. The Mason Cottage was everything we expected and more.

For those looking for vintage Victorian charm, you will be pleased with this property. The location cannot be beat, the entire historic district is a very short walk. The beach is not much farther. We stayed in the Renaissance room, a very comfy and roomy king. These were definitely two of the best night's sleep we've had in recent times! The breakfast service here is really excellent with several menu choices. They will also accommodate a range of custom requests (obviously within reason). The staff was great throughout our stay and everything is well thought out. One caveat here is the no parking on premises, there are however parking options close by. We were able to get free on street parking a short walk away. Loading and unloading at the property is also easy. Highly recommend!!

For starters, the Harrison/Pharos Inn does not have a front desk. When you show up for your stay,…read moreyou are not told where to park to unload. Eventually you get out and ring a bell. Someone that is working in the back (housekeeping or kitchen staff), comes to let you in and hands you the paperwork and a quick synopsis of your stay. There is no one to help you with your bags up to the 2nd or 3rd floors. One of the reasons that I chose the Harrison was for its location. For this reason I would give the Inn 3.5 stars rather than 3, but that is not an option. The location was perfect. Close to the center of town and the beach. One could park their car and walk or bike everywhere. However, the photos are misleading. I thought that I was booking a B&B with the old home charm, but one that was also impeccably updated. The rooms had white bedding which is similar to upscale hotels, however other parts of the room were subpar. The carpets need to be replaced. In the hallways and in our room they were filthy (stained and discolored all over). The bathroom shower was a prefabricated shower unit which was underwhelming for the price, but what was most annoying was that the shower regulator was loose and difficult to adjust. The water did not warm up for a few minutes and dripped while in the off position. The TV was small and too far away for the remote to work from the bed which is the only spot in the room that you would watch it from. Perhaps it needed batteries. I suspected this stay experience was going to be different than what I am accustomed to because I was contacted a few days prior to our stay exclusively via an AI messenger. Any questions that AI could not answer, the AI messenger had to escalate the question to the front desk (which did not exist at the inn). If you want to speak with a live person instead of going back and forth with the AI messenger, you have to call the number listed on the website. You are calling a general number. The Harrison/Pharos is a part of a conglomerate of many hotels in Cape May. You must listen to all of the options, and finally pick a number to punch to hopefully speak with a person. I chose housekeeping because there was not a front desk option. I called about how to work the TV because there were no instructions. The housekeeping person was not successful at helping over the phone. We were going out to dinner and after 8PM there is no one to help or stop by. We ended up figuring out some of the issues ourselves and then gave up. In addition, the network to get on the wifi was different than what was listed in the paperwork. Maybe as AI becomes more prevalent, people will become more accepting because we are forced to. In the future, I will make sure to avoid such places as long as I can. I have been to many B&Bs in the past and one of the perks is a fantastic breakfast. The breakfast was good, but not great. The afternoon tea was ok. The cake was dry. If I were eating at a restaurant, I would not go back. We paid for early entry to the room on the day we arrived. I was told that they could take our bags if we arrived early and the room was not ready. We chose to pay to get in two hours early. This is something new to me, but I did it anyway, If we had not, I do not know what they would have done with our bags. There was no one to help. For the amount of money that we paid for the room (about $600 per night after all fees), I expected more. I chose the place because of its location, old house charm, and what I thought was its clean, updated (not dingy) insides. The photos are misleading. Definitely not worth the price we paid. Even at a lower price point for the weekend of June 19th and 20th, much of my dissatisfaction would still be warranted.
