I was a bit leery after reading the negative reviews, but this was definitely one of the better massages I've ever had. The massage therapist was pleasant and knew what she was doing. She asked me what areas concerned me and concentrated on those, though she hit every sore spot on my body. The massage seemed like it went way past an hour, though it didn't. This establishment and its horrible owner does not even deserve a single star - but I do not have an option to give NO stars to write this feedback. If you do not have the time to read this detailed feedback just STAY AWAY from this center and its owner who is a filthy, dirty, unhealthy, uncouth, unethical, unprofessional, arrogant, rude & a psychotic woman named Amy. I was stupid to purchase a pre-paid deal of 8 messages a second time when she moved her old location to this new one on US 41. It is the most unprofessional place I've ever been to. It is impossible to get an appointment as they do not answer the phone, respond to voicemail nor respond to emails. I had to typically call 4 times over a period of a week to even get a response. She initially hired a group of good masseuses but eventually stopped paying them and so everyone left that center and now she tries to run the show alone. After the first 2 appointments, I realized that all the decent masseuses are gone and so now I had no other option than dealing with her rude behavior and extremely demeaning tone and equally unpleasant massage sessions. As mentioned by several others, the place is in a sad shape....smelly, dirty and unhygienic. Amy is by far the most unprofessional, rude & condescending in her dealing with clients. She is always smelly and sweaty as she is overworked and never cares to listen to requests or preferences of how I would like her to massage a certain area of my hand, feet or back. Most of the time she is inconsistent and forgets to massage certain areas and if I mention that to her she will blatantly deny. One day she even yelled at me for being 10 mins late even though I told her that I am ok with the session being 10 mins shorter. Finally, I had my 6th (Out of the 8) massages scheduled on March 7th and 3 days before that I realized that we were supposed to leave for Miami on the 6th - I called several times and finally could get hold of her and requested her if she could accommodate me anytime before the 7th (4th thru 6th against any cancellations) and she said she will let me know. I tried calling her and left messages several times in the next 3 days with not a single response from her. So I eventually talked to my family and changed our plans to leave for Miami on the 7th evening after my massage appointment which was at 4 PM. On the 7th of March when I reached the center at 3.55 PM - Amy blatantly said that my appointment was canceled and she already has another customer scheduled. To my shock, I asked her why did she cancel my appointment without even talking to me or letting me know - At which she rudely responded that she assumed that I wanted to cancel my appointment. I was so upset at this behavior, especially because I changed my plans with my family to keep this appointment and this unprofessional owner does not even have any respect for its customers. I calmly said that I want to have my massage, as per my scheduled appointment as I did NOT cancel it. Then she started yelling at me at the top of her voice in an extremely demeaning manner, in front of another customer and accused that I am a horrible customer because I never tip her and that I bother her by calling her too many times. I still kept my calm and asked her - Is it true that she was openly demanding tips from me as a customer - which is really ridiculous. Then she suddenly sat down in her chair and raised both her her feet on the desk in front of me and said that I have to leave because her next client (someone else) is waiting. I was completely baffled - this was even stranger than fiction. At this point, I simply said that I do not want to ever come back to her establishment and I want my money back for the 3 massages which were still due. She said she will send me the check for $60 (3 x $20 discounted price of massage) in 30 days. I waited till April 9th and stopped by her center to follow up at which she again came across rudely and said that I should not bother her anymore and that she has already mailed the check to me. I left believing she was telling the truth until I realized another month later that she still did not send me anything by mail. Once again I stopped by her center (could not meet her) and called her twice - and got a cold text message stating that I should stop calling or visiting her business as she is not willing to talk to me. I bought a groupon and wanted to try something new. The location has parking which is great. I waited about 5 min or so until someone came out to greet me. The session started promptly. The massage center seems to be either 'under construction' or very poorly build and decorated. Unfortunately for me the ambiance for spa services is very important and it did not meet my standards at all. There were no 'doors' installed for the massage room and only a curtain separates you from the foot traffic in the center.The ceiling tiles were poorly installed and had stains. It almost looked like they were coming down on you. Not a nice view when you want to relax. There was water dripping from the ceiling on our way to the massage room. I bought a package from Aimee in the fall of 2019 for 5 massages and 5 facials. I bought the massages with the idea of giving one to my friend for Christmas. She approved and gave me a gift card or her. Because of her availability and covid i still had 3 left. I had a facial scheduled for December along with my girlfriends massage. Aimee had to cancel that appointment. My next one was today for a facial and my girlfriends massage. Girlfriend went in first at 10:00 and was greeted by Aimee yelling that she was not on the schedule and that she was wrecking her whole day. Accentuate Yelling! My girlfriend texted a little nervous about going in because she was so crabby. I came at 11:00 for my facial and told her we had to talk about this. This place is by appointment only. I made an appointment weeks ago and showed up fifteen minutes early. The appointment I made was during regular business hours and when I arrived the doors were locked and nobody was inside. I waited a half an hour and knocked on the door but no answer. All the lights were off and it appeared that nobody was inside. I am very disappointed I drove a half an hour to my appointment for a no-show on the business end. The funny thing is I could see a sign right inside the door that said no show for customers were a $25 fee. I will start off by saying that my expectations were very low. This was a gift, so it wasn't out of my pocket. The reviews were not positive whatsoever. And I rarely ever get manicures or pedicures or visits spas/salons. Aside from that, my experience was great. I had no issue at all making an appointment and Janet was a fantastic technician. She really took the time to make sure you felt comfortable and she was a great conversationalist, but also let you relax and just enjoy the experience. If you are looking for extremely high quality, I would not necessarily recommend this for you. The owner has great employees, I just don't know how well she treats them. If I could give zero stars, I would. This small business and its owner Amy, are by far the most unprofessional establishment I have unfortunately had the opportunity to visit. Owner is extremely rude. Condescending on the telephone. Short, disrespectful, should not be a small business owner involving providing a service for customers. Her business admin person called me an hour before my appt to cancel due to a tropical storm warning or hurricane which she said was going to hit "Big Bend". I informed her that the big bend referred to by the news meant north Florida in the panhandle where the state "bends". She dismissed me and hung up on me. I called back to reschedule even after the owner belittled and berated me some more, because she had a file on me and I used a Groupon at her former location and then never returned. I told her that the only reason I am now back at her place is because of her new hire which I gave used in the past. Because if I knew this was that same place with the owner Amy who didn't have the first clue on how to provide a deep tissue massage to relieve discomfort, I never would have came back. So today, as I was driving to my rescheduled appt. The place called me and said their credit card machine was not working. I had to pay cash or write a check. Fail. I showed up anyway, needs work done on my shoulder. Used my Groupon which I was authorized to use, paid the difference in cash, tipped my therapist then left. As I was leaving I asked the owners sister what company they use for their swipe card. Come to find out, the machine isn't broke after all, they just don't want to pay the charge to use the service. So they inconvenience the customer. They are probable not reporting cash sales. The IRS will catch them eventually. On the way home, got a call from Hope the sister of the owner. She told me the owner Amy said I was no longer welcome at her shop. I asked why and was told because I used s groupon twice and they were for first time users. Well Amy, you should but that stipulation on groupon to restrict repeat purchases. And another thing, I used that initial group on over 3 years ago at your other shop at a different location and a Different name (probable because you went bankrupt or were evicted there). This place smelled musty, like a wet dog. Oh and their AC is either broken it they are too cheap to turn it on. I give them 6 months before declaring bankruptcy or getting evicted. I'm so glad that I don't just go by what others review. I also had a Groupon for this location. I called at the end of May and was told that they didn't have any Saturday openings until July 9th. I totally understand that since I think most people would want to go on the weekend. The lady was very nice over the phone. Fast forward to July 8th, I called twice to confirm my appointment, no answer. I left a message around 3:30pm and got a call back less than an hour later. The location is in Apollo Beach. There isn't much out there so it may not be fancy SoHo or Downtown Tampa. The location is rather small, but that didn't bother me. I had an appointment at 11am and my friend at 12pm. They took us both in at the same time. I started with the massage (she with the facial), I upgraded to deep tissue for $10. The Groupon only comes with a relaxation massage but I needed more work. The masseuse was very understanding when I told her I didn't have a great experience with a massage before, I ended up in pain for days after that prevous one. She talked when I talked, and didn't try to keep it going when I wanted to stay quiet. The facial was great. I almost fell asleep there too. Overall, great experience. I would go back. I felt so relaxed and well rested the rest of the day. My masseuse has only been there about 2 months so maybe they overhauled the previous staff. read more

I'm giving this two stars because the services and providers themselves were 'ok'. It took a second to find the place because the have no clear signage, only the very small name on the door. The 'waiting area' is a cramped space 12in in front of the main desk, with two 'pedicure' chairs off to the left. I bought a living social for a massage, facial, and pedicure. I arrived ~15 minutes early knowing there are typically forms to fill out. The receptionist maybe had two brain cells to rub together, but nice. Finally almost 30 minutes after my scheduled time I was up for my pedicure. This was not your standard pedicure. There was a chair, and a plastic 'bucket' the lady would fill and empty with each customer. Not very large selection of polish, oh and she handed me he disposable pumice in a ziplock as a parting gift, I guess. Glad to see they don't reuse the same one but I didn't need that? Situation was strange but the pedicure was fine. Finally after 5:30 it was time for my facial and massage. I had been told it was the same pedicure-it's who did the facials, which was odd but the masseuse handled mine because she had another customer. Anyways, the facial and massage were fine. Nothing fancy. I believe her name was Amy. She was nice, older, and unfortunately had bad breath that I could smell while she gave my facial. I finally finished a quarter before 7, from a 4pm appt. Again, overall the services were just ok. Not sure id go back, though they were nice. The 'spa' itself looked like they didn't out a lot of effort into it, perhaps knowing they wouldn't be around long. Paint, wall art, candles, and mood music go a long way. I treated myself to a 2 hour massage today. When I walked in, it was dark but smelled nice. I filled out my paperwork and waited to be called. While waiting I used the restroom...definitely not clean. When I was called back to the room, I was told by Amy to get undressed to my level of comfort and get in the table. Amy gives a decent massage, using the typical techniques. She even throws in some stretching which is nice. The only problem is that she's not consistent. She will massage and stretch one leg for example then barely touch the other one. About an hour and a half in, someone knocked on the door. Amy got up and left without saying anything. After a few minutes she came back and apologized. Total relaxation breaker. This place is no frills, not the cleanest, and not super professional. If you can get past that, the massage was decent for the price. However I more than likely won't be going back. read more

I had these scheduled, then a day before those took place, I was called and told a therapist was out and I would need to reschedule. When I asked for the next available Saturday, I was RUDELY told that Saturdays are never available because they are booked so far in advance and that I would HAVE to schedule sometime during the week. I did reschedule, but then something came up and I had to cancel. The person was so rude on the phone when I told her this, she literally hung up on me as I was trying to reschedule for another day. I called almost 30 minutes prior notify them that I would be late and told them to call me back if it be a problem since I drive 45 minutes away to get there. I walk in and immediately she says we have to reschedule and I just said what why? I would have been fine with cutting 10 minutes off my massage for a 50-minute massage but instead of offering that option she demanded I reschedule, and when I asked why they didn't call me because I drove so far she said she doesn't get the spa phone calls when I know that was untrue because I called the very first time I went there while I waited in the waiting room for over 15 minutes. I called the number on the door while the waiting room to see if someone would answer because the lights were off and I had been waiting so long. I called and I heard it ring from her pocket..it was her cell phone. I was just kind of baffled that she refused to perform the massage and when I asked for my money back that's when she really started to yell... I didn't want my money back from all the massages I already just the one that I will not be using which was $40. Every time I asked why are you yelling at me in a quiet Voice she would say I'm not yelling and then proceeded to start yelling again. it was beyond embarrassing since one of her workers was there listening to what was going on. My daughter spent her own $ to buy me this for Mother's Day and was all excited to give it to me. A 1-hour massage, 1-hour facial, and pedicure from Groupon for $55 or so. Well i was excited to make the appt so I called that very day and left a voicemail. Waited a few days...no return phone call. Finally after a week or two called and someone actually answered (the only time this ever happened and has not happened since). I had to make an appt for a Saturday bc this is in Apollo beach and I work on Davis Island but live in Odessa. This was in May and she stated that the only appts they have on a Saturday were in July. I made the appt for July 5th. So a month and a half later, the morning of the appt, I got a call (which I missed) and one the vm she said that the A/C was broken and sorry for the inconvenience but they would have to reschedule me, and they would upgrade my pedicure to a spa pedicure. Ok I thought. One more try. I tried calling right back, no answer, and to this day, no return phone call. I finally decided to contact Groupon and get my money back, which they did give back in Groupon bucks, which is fine, because I buy Goods and other things all the time. We struggled to get appointments over the phone for about ten days, so finally we went in person to make appointments. We waited for the owner to finish a massage and finally got some appointments, but no apology. We arrived for our appointments to find the business closed for what appeared to be days due to the UPS attempt to deliver note, we tried toe schedule for more than two weeks without getting through or getting a call back. Groupon did refund our money thankfully. I do not recommend anyone purchase any certificates ahead of time for this business as they are likely to expire before you can use them. The nail tech was good, a Lil slow but very friendly and I enjoyed talking with her; but the design she put on is uneven and I'm not sure if she did this on purpose or what. That being said when I made the appointment is told the lady I have two Groupons and she let me make the appointment for both at one time without telling me they only have one tech available, so my fiancé and both came and were unable to get our nails done at the same time after sitting in the waiting room for about 40 minutes. First , I have rude service on the phone, 2nd after finding I'm a Groupon purchaser , told OH , we can't take this here , then wanting to do something and charge an add'tl fee, #rd told you have to come back in 2 hrs to get a service , I just charged you for and reschedule because you were late ( given wrong address) I have to re- schedule you for end of Februaury ( 4 weeks later) . I said, Oh no, I'm OUT . So disappointed, took up my whole day canceling my appointments to get no where with Massage Center. I've made an appointment with them through email. I wanted an appointment for a Saturday, but they mentioned that they are booked and don't have any openings until April. They eventually requested for me to call instead to book an appointment so I did. Once I got a hold of them, I felt rushed on the phone. I asked to be booked on the first Saturday available and I was booked on a Wednesday instead. I emailed them back about it and was told to call again. I've tried to call during their business hours and no one picks up the phone. I'm not even looking forward to going to this place just because I felt that they don't have a good customer service just through our phone conversation. read more

My husband had bought the Groupon and I have called and called for an appointment. No return calls. I finally got someone to answer the phone there and I asked the woman that answered the phone why no one will return my calls and she said "oh, we get so many calls that their is no way we can return them all". REALLY? I was calling to ask about the packages they offered with this Groupon and wanted to figure out my schedule and call back. Little did I know that I would never be able to reach someone at this "Massage Center" again. I guess I should have made an appointment that day, but from the comments on here tells me they would have called and cancelled it anyway. IT'S A RIP-OFF!. I got a 39 minute oil rub. I kept asking when she was going to give me a real message and she kept saying the groupon I purchased was not for a message. Less than 40 minutes later she shuffled me out the door without letting me look at the paperwork I handed her when I arrived. At home I clarified what I had purchased and my wife and I called to ask for a refund. She said we were rude, told us to both f---off, and hung up on us!!!!!!!! THIS IS A SCAM!!!! They have moved 4 times in 4 months and are in a dump of an empty building without so much as a sign above the door that can be seen from the road. The 'massage specialist '(and I use this term very loosley) wear torn jeans and tee shirt. The lade giving my rub down never even told me her name! I don't have to wonder why. I'm not sure why this place is called The Massage Center. If you look on The Massage Center's website they sound like each center has multiple licensed massage therapists who work in an actual massage center with multiple rooms and have a menu of 14 different types of massages to choose from as well as the option for a body wrap. I was expecting this place to be similar to a Massage Envy but it was far from it. It's located in a run down hair salon/barber shop with only one tiny room for massages. The walls are very thin so you can hear everything going on inside the "salon". Not very relaxing! And instead of having a dimmer for the light they have a Christmas nite light instead. The room itself seemed very low-budget. The room is so tiny that the "massage therapist" has to literally squeeze between the table and wall to massage different parts of your body. I was never asked what kind of massage I wanted, I finally had to speak up right before the massage started, and the massage was mediocre at best. I bought the Groupon deal of $39 for a 90 minute massage and even at that rate I felt that I paid too much. The massage therapist seemed nice but she wasn't very professional and I wouldn't be surprised if she wasn't licensed. Instead of a typical scrubs-like uniform she wore jeans and a tee shirt, didn't look very well-groomed and made strange noises with her mouth through the entire massage which was extremely distracting. But probably my biggest gripe was the way she didn't respect any levels of my modesty. Like a lot of people who get massages, I take off all my clothes so nothing is in the way during the massage. Of all the massages I've ever had this was the first time I felt exposed and almost violated, if you will. Granted, I was never touched inappropriately or anything like that, but there's a certain way a professional therapist maneuvers the sheet to keep you covered and keeping you from feeling uncomfortable. While working near my upper thigh area, whether while I was on my front or back, she never used the sheet properly to keep me covered. I felt like she flung it off me each time and I felt VERY exposed to the point that I was shifting my body to try and stay covered and I had to tug on the sheet. I couldn't imagine getting a body wrap at this place. One, I can't imagine they'd have space to do it and, two, this place doesn't seem very sanitary. Would I recommend this place or go back? What a joke. I bought a Groupon for a two hour massage, cleared my day and drove 30 minutes to Apollo Beach to get a massage. When I got there, the place is in a delapitated shopping center with lots of vacancies - no sign, mirrored windows and the door was locked - NOT your typical day spa look at all. I asked a passer by if he knew if there was a massage place around here - he said, "yeah, right there - just knock. I think her husband is there." I knock. A guy comes to the door to tell me, "She's not here today". He calls her and she then claims that she tried to call me to cancel but couldn't reach me. So, instead of keeping my appointment, she thought it would be best to just waste my time and money. This is NOT the kind of place you see in the pictures they have on-line - this place is a dive. In fact, I'm almpost glad it happened, because I would not have wanted to get a massage in that place. Look elsewhere and save yourself the trouble. read more

I purchased this groupon a long while ago. I patiently waited for the business to move and open back up, once they did I left several messages and no response was returned. In January, I finally got a hold of someone and explained that I would like to book two 2-hour massages. Today, just before my appointment I was told that they did not have such availability. After I stated that I had made an appointment for two people, the receptionist stated that this could not have been possible and that I made an error. I explained that the reason my appointment was in March was because I had to wait for availability; I booked this appointment shortly after the new year. She insisted that I had made an error and they did not have such availability for today. I'm extremely disappointed with the customer service of this business, their attitude, and their lack of assistance.
