I slept on my brothers bed a couple years ago and loved it so much. I finally decided enough is enough and asked him for the brand and model. Turns out it is made for people weighing up to 750 pounds! So it is truly heavy duty. I might weigh 140 and prefer a firm mattress without being rock hard of course. I really liked this since it meant the mattress should last a lot longer before even thinking of caving in. When talking to Phil and sharing that I do some side sleeping, he recommended I go with the mattress that was one step up with a bit more padding and bonus, it is flippable! When is the last time you heard of a flippable mattress? It always felt like the industry was giving us half a mattress, declaring it a beneficial feature and charged us more. I live many states away from any in-person dealer and glad I did my research and called around. A place that was recommended by someone who doesn't ship suggested a place the goes my initials not a name and the person I interacted with was very condescending. Glad I found The Mattress Doctor and Phil! He worked with me on price, shipping, charges and details...so everything went smoothly. The first 4-5 night were a bit rough on my low back, I got adjusted by my chiropractor a few times and then everything was great! So I encourage everyone to get adjusted regularly much less when getting a mattress, car, couch, chair, etc! If things aren't moving uniformly in your spine, nothing new will feel right since your body is stuck in the old pattern and cannot accommodate the changes needed to be comfortable, much less function properly. We finally took the plunge and got a queen bed. Problem is, the guys couldn't get the foundation up our old home's narrow staircase. I didn't know what we were going to do, but they took care of it. (You can get a divided foundation, as it turns out. Do that if you are getting a larger bed and you're uncertain how you're going to get it upstairs!) My husband and I came in looking for a king size mattress for our spare bedroom. Phil was so helpful and knowledgeable. He wasn't out to sell his most expensive model, but instead listened to our needs and found us the perfect mattress. Once delivered, the mattress sadly emitted a strong chemical oder. I cannot give Phil his wife, and staff enough stars! What an impression they left on my family. We needed to find a bed for my dad ASAP and he kept the store open for mom to get there on time. The next day they delivered the bed and adjustable frame just in time for my dad to come home from the hospital. Along with the mattress and frame Phil's wife had a beautiful basket of veggies and peach cobbler! After our long 15 days in the hospital this was wonderful to come home too! Horrible experience! I was told the box spring came w the mattress but there was a charge on my receipt for it. When I asked about it, I was gave a run around by Doug Martin that claimed to be the owner of the chain of stores. When I finally was tired of being lead in circles, I asked to cancel my order. I was then told I would have to pay a restocking fee that was more $ that the box spring!! My receipt read: Bunkie Board: $81. 61. Mattress: $318.38. If the Bunkie Board/Box Spring came w the mattress...WHY IS THERE A CHARGE FOR $81.61??! I would absolutely post a pic of my receipt if I could... Horrible experience! Phil was amazing, we laughed a lot during the hour and a half we spent there finding the perfect bed. He was so beyond helpful and was determined to find us the right bed we needed and wanted. It was not about the sale or money, but about what we wanted and what was comfortable for us. I highly recommend going and seeing Phil! We went in on Saturday late morning, they delivered everything and set it all up that same day and we were sleeping on our new beds that night! Phil's knowledge and suggestions were spot-on and all 3 of us have had the best sleep since. He called that night to make sure delivery went smooth and then also checked in a couple of days later to make sure we were still happy (which of course, we are). You don't get that kind of service from a big box or online store. Horrible. Lie, cheat and steal is what you get. Never again. I'm considering picketing this place. That bad. Spent 1000 bucks. Didn't get close to what I went for. 999 sale is only good if you have credit. Being a disabled vet and poor makes you beneath some people. Showed one thing and get something totally different. One of the few places where you can get a quality latex mattress, and very good prices... if you bargain with them.

The Mattress Doctor sold us a mattress that was cheap to say the least. It was sold to us for an 11 yr old (that was present at time of the sale) and it had an apparent weight rating of up to 90 lbs. After finding that out, I went to discuss this matter with the salesman/owner. Prior to that my husband called and got a response of "you can't return it after it's out of it's plastic". When I was there he told me I was a liar, and that he had a feeling about us, and that I needed to leave. I was in shock and when I calmly asked what he was talking about he said "you need to leave right now, if I have to ask again I will call the police". If the salesman/owner won't even discuss the issue with you, it makes you wonder... Needless to say, I left never to return again. Buyers beware. read more

we have bought 2 kings and 2 queens. one king was mattress and all steel platform bed. one queen was the all steel platform bed. also purchased 2 benches for the end of beds. they helped us get the Talalay latex king mattress for another house(its so soft). This company deserves more than 5 stars! They are the ONLY company that offers an American made mattress, from top to bottom... and they should mean something to every TRUE American. The family that works and runs this business on a daily basis are Fabulous! They are helpful, attentive, accommodating, and very wise on what they are selling! When my bed was delivered and set up, the drivers were very clean and quick. One young man even grabbed my mop and finished my floor when he saw me struggling. I tipped them, of course.
