Turns out the mattress was incredibly crappy . Replaced within 6 months. Haven't been back.

I was walking up to the mattress store when my Army recruiter called me with some important information. I walked inside & the salesman told me to get off the phone that way he could explain the mattresses. No one should tell a customer when he or she can be on the phone I began walking around & said hey can you just point me to the mattresses with the springs (at this point I was nearing the end of the conversation with my recruiter) about 3 minutes after walking in when he repeated in a load voice No get off your phone & then we can talk! Idk if it's because I'm Hispanic & he assumed I couldn't buy or because I was in gym cloths that made him feel it was okay to talk to me this way. I then proceeded to tell him that was no way to talk to customers which then he replied go bad word yourself.. For the record I own 2 taco trucks & am a manager at one of the biggest Toyota dealerships in the Bay Area I know how to treat customers & I was definitely looking to & able to buy Will tell EVERYONE I know & possibly can to never visit this place read more

I bought a temper pedic mattress and adjustable massaging frame paid 5k and a week later the massagers went out and I called and told them. Then the mattress stopped adjusting been getting the run around and now they are out of business I'll see the owner on court read more

Sales guy is super rude.. seems like he hates his job don't know if he is the owner or an employee but should defiantly change careers. If you go inside & give him the impression that you are not buying he will be very discourteous Do not buy here read more

Bought my first ever brand new mattress hear in June. The guy was really nice, delivered it for free and paid the tax on the bed. (A promotion and i think he really wanted to sell the bed) He even gave us the last one he had because he was not expecting more to come in for a while and it was the one my husband and i really liked. All and all it was a good place. Cheaper then Sears. And not as pushy, he even gave us time to check beds out on our own. Instead of hounding us (Like Sears) It was a little pricey still, but its a quality bed. So im really happy with it. read more

When we found ourselves in the unfortunate position of having to replace the beds for our UC students, we had to find something quickly on a weekend. Thankfully, we found this store on Sunday afternoon. We were warmly greeted when we came in and Trevor was friendly, patient and helpful as he explained our options. We made our choice and he even delivered them at no charge within the hour! The excellent price, in stock availability and delivery combined for a excellent experience all around. As soon as I walked in with my two older children, the salesman yelled at my children to get off the mattresses when they just sat down. My son touched a memory foam sample that was on top of the mattress and the salesman literally ripped it from his hands and told him not to touch what isn't his. I shared with the salesman that I would have to bring my husband back before I purchase and he said "just buy it cause your husband does anything you want anyway". Excuse me? I have bought two mattresses from The mattress store before with ease. I felt I was patient with the salesman if he was having a bad day, but I will not return to a store that treats children this way. I ended up purchasing my mattress at Slater's. I have always had good experiences there and the staff is very professional. Plus the mattress I bought was high end and $300 cheaper. read more

Owner is disrespectful and unprofssional. Owner does not update stock and we were sold what appeared to be used or damaged. Tried to return it and was told he has not ever given a refund and was not going to refund ours. Owner opened two other products wnr swme damage was on them anr stipl would not refund. Owner expressed anger by raising voice and throwing things . Owner has anger issues. Customers should check all products before leaving store or they might have a similiar fate. Customer service is not of interest to owner. But have had a better experience with the employees. Good luck! read more

Just went in to buy a basic bed frame. No pressure to buy anything extra. Was super fast. Took out the box to my truck. Wanted flat bed supporters, not the rollers, and he went out of his way to accommodate my request. Would definitely go back here for any additional bed or mattress in the future! read more

I visited the store yesterday after work to browse their merchandise. I had previously visited Sleep Train, Sears and Costco and somehow I felt as if thought I was nothing more than another customer. Bill treats you like family, he isn't pushy, he is very friendly and is genuinely interested in helping you get the best sleep possible. I chose a bed, I told him my budget and he made it happen. He even threw in a bed frame and in less than 30 minutes the bed was setup at my house, I woke up this morning rested and feeling so great I am writing this review. If you're like me and you're the type of person that want's the best deal for your buck but also appreciate exceptional customer service then this is the mattress store for you. You will not find this class of service anywhere else in Merced, considering that Costco does not deliver, Sears takes about 2 weeks to get your bed to you and Sleep Train's prices are ridiculous. This is a great store! Their customer service is superior and they have an excellent selection. We picked out a reasonably priced and very good quality queen pillow top mattress within 15 minutes. Bill was very helpful and as others have written, not pushy at all. I can't say enough about how good the experience was. Their delivery timeline was quick - would've been same day but we weren't ready - and the delivery guys were professional. I was going to buy a good set of mattresses off this guy until my wife told me he pushed her and told her to shut the fuck up in a dispute with him nearby some months back. As a matter of fact I owe this old dude a very fat lip. I always pay up. I am not knocking his products at all, but the way he shows his true colors tells a person what to expect when you have a problem with what he is selling. We own and operate a B&B near Yosemite and bought all our mattresses from this store. The service was excellent, and the price was the best we found after comparing all the other mattress stores in the area. Nine(!) years later our B&B guests are still complimenting us on the quality of our mattresses...and as we replace mattresses, we will definitely go back here to get the new ones. We have bought a couple of roll-away beds, since, and get compliments on those! The service is truly the best we have found...they delivered the mattresses and set up the frames, too---this type of personal service is outstanding and truly appreciated! read more

Me and my wife were in the market for a new bed so I thought we should try a local store. I had gone by mattressland by myself the day before and liked several of the beds there but thought i would rather keep my $ local and help out the local businessman. When we entered the store I saw a middle aged gentlemen sitting behind a desk and asked if they carried a brand they apparently didn't, I gave a joking response that he quickly took offense to whitch obviously set the mood for the rest of the visit. While trying out several beds he helped us both with knowledge that was appreciated and sarcasm that was not. He was very helpful to my wife and very sarcastic to me (laughing about my weight, commenting rudely about my clothes). It is possible he was having a bad day and perhaps we started off on the wrong foot but the fact is I would have likely purchased a bed from this store if his attitude was better. After leaving this store we went to mattressland where we were greeted by Terri the store manager who was very polite and positive and ended up purchasing a temper-pedic cloud luxe from her. Perhaps my experience is isolated and maybe I offended this guy( if so I apologize) but the fact is if he was a little more professional and a little less discourteous I would have purchased a bed from him ( they do sell temper-pedic) and just because your dad owns the store doesn't mean you get to be rude. read more
