I normally come here a lot but I don't recommend coming on Sunday's when Christy is working behind the bar . We closed the front door because the smoke was coming inside from the smokers and this is a smoke free bar . And Christy got an attitude saying don't touch the door . Well we are customers and if we are uncomfortable with the smell of smoke in a smoke free bar then we should be able to close the door if we want . If she would of just not been rude and said I'll close the door please don't touch no problem . Places like this need to respect there customers . read more

Pretty chill place! It was big and had a lot of seating / high tables. We just had some appetizers which were pretty decent. $3 margarita Mondays!!! I tried all their margaritas peach, strawberry, classic and mango and mango was my favorite! Will be coming back on a Monday again! read more

Man, this sucks. Our first waitress was spot on! Then shift change. Our waitress was sweet but holy hell, our drink count was ridiculous! We slowed down intentionally and got charged double for drinks. I confronted our waitress and she was insistent that we ordered double what we actually ordered. Wtf! My suggestion for you is to insist that your empties stay on the table so that you can count them for your server. read more

Despite living down the street, we have yet to try the food here.  I did visit with some friends for drinks and to hear one of our friends sing with a band playing one night.  It's great they have local live music here frequently. It was a very lively and energetic environment.  Our server was on the unprofessional side - she was snippy with one of our friends, dismissive, and when asked a question about a drink simply said she didn't know and walked away.  Overall, it was a fun night and we will probably be back to visit. UPDATE: We did end up going back to the Maverick. Still love the atmosphere, decor, and live band. However, I cannot get past the lack of service. Upon arrival (9:17pm) two of us grabbed a table to be closer to the music. By 9:45pm two more friends joined us and we still hadn't been served despite three separate waitresses walking by us and helping the tables around us. At that point my friend went to the bar, ordered some drinks, and asked the group of waitresses hanging out by the register if after 30 minutes anyone was going to serve our table. One eventually came over and apologized that she "didn't see us." We ordered some more and got (almost) all our drinks. Two more friends joined us, but after waiting a few also went to the bar to order. We ended up staying until 11:55pm and during that entire time the waitress only came back twice to ask if we need anything. It's said that such a potentially great locally owned establishment is being held back by the lack of customer service on the two occasions we've come here. read more

Found this place a few weeks ago. Food and drinks are both good. Live bands on the weekends. For the BEST time come when Lauren is working. She's everything you could want in a bartender/server. She's friendly, attentive and always ready to take care of whatever you need. When she's not there the service can be a little problematic. read more

Decent food. That's where it ends. Service was slow. Went on a Sunday night during a Cowboys game- had 2 servers for the entire area. We ordered 15 wings and a basket of fries . 15 Wings took 60 minutes (but will admit they were good) and fries never came. I have visited this place several times and always look forward to returning. The service is good and the bartender is awesome (hot and nice!) The quality of the food is consistent and drink prices are fare. I like the location as it is easily accessible from hwy 121. Good place to meet friends or just hang out a while. Went to Maverick today and ordered the street tacos (beef) and I devoured them! They are an appetizer and the portion and flavor perfectly reflected the price. My favorite part was the pickled onions!! The seasoning on the beef was delicious. Highly recommend! It's perfect bar food. read more

Pleasantly surprised during my first visit as it was recommended by a friend. I ordered The Ranger (straight cheeseburger) with tater tots and my wife ordered the same (without the cheese and with a grilled chicken breast) with sweet potato French fries. The burger was cooked to a perfect medium and was extremely tasty served on a fresh bun. Her chicken breast had a great herbal flavor and was moist throughout. The service was quick and pleasant. This place used to be our favorite hang out with the service industry happy hour and awesome GM Trevor. But since Trevor has left this place has gone to shit. The new owner was our waitress and she was the most unattentive waitress I've ever had. She constantly has this bitchy attitude and clearly would rather be on her phone behind the bar or socializing with her employees. We walked in and immediately were greeted with a fresh smell of urine the whole place smelled like a dirty bathroom; went to the bar and order a round of beers and a cranberry vodka or what was it a vodka cranberry?? Yes the bartender gave me a look like I was stupid and said are you ordering a vodka cranberry or a cranberry vodka and let me reassure it was not sarcasm. Okay atmosphere, but slow slow slow service. When we show up for our party, we ordered our food and drinks, it took nearly an hour for it to arrive, the burger was burnt and the spinach dip was cold, but we were hungry and ate it anyways. Our waitress was sweet though, but I wouldn't come back ever, couldn't pay me either. Then waiting another hour for our check, it wasn't that busy when we there (I checked! I ordered the Black and Blue cajon fire grilled burger . . . and while waiting the bar keep says hey, try this "Temptation" brew by Lakewood brewing . . . it was amazing . . . my burger comes, I pay and go home with this amazing fire-grilled burger.
