How unfortunate for me I did listen to Penner's counsel and I signed a stipulation which became an…read morecourt order. I learned it is illegal to negotiate a stipulation without the client taking part. After Penner I was unrepresented a few months before I had a new attorney. Penner's stipulation moved non trust assets into the trust which gave a bias trustee power over them. Because both parties and judge signed the stipulation it became set in stone - could not be modified. The one year statute of limitations on malpractice protects bad attorneys. A WARNING to others DO NOT SIGN anything your attorney asks you to sign - especially if they press you, scare you or hurry you. You have a lot of time to have one or two attorneys read it - there is no rush. So the lesson is to hire a second attorney to watch the first attorney to make sure they don't sabotage your case.

Just one day before my traffic violation was due, I reached out to John, and he returned my call within minutes. From the start, John was proactive and professional. He immediately requested a new court date and later pushed out the court date a couple of times (the ticket was issued in April, and the final court date was in December). Although the ticket wasn't dismissed (I was speeding, and the officer appeared in court), John handled everything for me and made the process very easy. His fee was reasonable and saved me the stress of driving over three hours to court and trying to fight the ticket myself. I highly recommend John Carlson for any traffic-related legal issues and would definitely use him again if I get another speeding ticket.
