This place is amazing. My dogs go crazy and claw at the door to get in here every time we go. The staff are very caring and know our dogs very well. Seeing the same faces for years is also a great sign of stability. It was sold recently but I feel the new owner is making the place even better. My dogs are my babies and I am careful about where they stay. You can tour it and see for yourself, it's a good sign when a kennel lets you tour it. More expensive than others but our dog has separation anxiety. Must be up to date on vaccinations. Will visit and tour soon. read more

I have been boarding my dogs her for 10+ years! I think they deserve more than 5 stars. I boarded a crazy elderly choc. lab. and 2 German Shepards, now new pup a gsp When My daughters was pregnant with twins We Knew we would have to go to Tenn at a moments notice. They were so accommodating Now with the German Short hair pup ... They are so understanding of his needs. Love, Love the Meadows! It is always clean! The Meadows showed exceptional care and concern for Abby Lynn. We brought her down twice and she loved being here compared to several other places that were horrible in the Harrisburg area. A statement to the owners is that its easy to see that you Love what your doing because you do it so well. My Dad taught me that if I want to be happy in life then I need to find something that I love doing then JUMP into it with both feet. The owners at the Meadows did just that. I started taking my shepherd mix--and later my Siberian Husky--here after a random recommendation at a hair salon. I can't say enough good things about The Meadows and its staff, and particularly miss it now that I am living in California and beginning my search for reputable kennels out here. The day my husky became unresponsive, the kennel owner rode with him to the vet and stayed there until he eventually passed away. They are a caring group of individuals, as evidenced by the fact that my dogs always got ridiculously excited to go there. I wish there was a Meadows Pet Resort in Silicon Valley. read more

This is a wonderful caring place to board your dog. They pay special attention to your best friend to make them feel loved in your absence. When we told one of the office staff that he was a rescue and we had concerns about leaving him the first time she told us to make sure we brought a blanket or towel with his scent and ours so he had something familiar. She also moved him closer to their office so he had more personal contact and gave him a treat every time she went into the kennel. He loves Meadows and so do we!!! read more

We brought our dog willow here twice - once for our honey moon and the second was when our son Isaac was born about 3 1/2 months ago. Willow was given an indoor/outdoor kennel and had her nails trimmed. They took her in last minute too -a great place for when you need to board your dog! read more

I have been bringing my 6 yr old Corgi to this kennel (on and off) since she was a puppy, usually over thanksgiving or christmas when I am flying and don't want to put my pup through the stress of flying & strange houses with aggressive/ bigger dogs. Initially I thought all kennels were so considerate and clean, I learned the hard way when I moved south and tried 2 other kennels, both of which my poor pup was injured on site (with no contact from the kennel, see my other reviews) or she came home terrified (I still don't even know what happened only that she was shaking and clingy to me for days after that visit). The kennel area is big and clean, the staff is always very attentive and my pup gets excited and happy when she arrives and comes home happy and tired and CLEAN! The groomers are exceptional (and very affordable) and sometimes around the holidays they offer grooming with special smelly shampoos so she will smell extra nice (one time it was pumpkin spice another time it was sugar cookies) so cute! I also board my kitty here because I know he is safe and I am leaving him in capable hands. Although this kennel isn't the cheapest, its definitely not the most expensive but I find the quality of care here is the very best of all the kennels in the York/Harrisburg/Lancaster areas that I have tried. When anyone asks me where to board dogs/cats, I tell them this place! read more

Our dog had a nice stay here and came back happy and healthy. On the upside, the people are great and they offer reasonable prices and pickup and dropoff hours. The downside of their setup is that they charge separately for walks and other exercise and interaction, which means that on our budget, most of our dog's fun was running in and out between the outdoor and indoor segments of his pen. We are new to York, PA and was looking for a new kennel for our dog. I went and visited Meadows Pet Resort before boarding. The people are very nice and the kennels are clean. That's not my complaint. When picking up our dog we were charged for a FULL day even though it was 11am. They had our pet barely 25 hours total and we were charged for 2 days. They do not charge by nights but days. This is even if you pick them up in the am. Plus you must pick your pet up by 1pm or its another $50 on top of additional day charge. Very disappointed. The other thing you must look for is they charge additional money to let your pet out only 10 minutes. We left there paying $60 for 25 hours ( $8 for nail trim) Will be looking for another kennel. read more

We have been using the Meadows Pet Resort for several years to board our 2 family pets...Hayes and Eleanor. We had reservations for an extended stay for both dogs over the holidays. Two days after Christmas and 2 days prior to our reservations we needed to have our elderly Hayes put to sleep. This meant that our diva beagle, Eleanor, would be staying at the Meadows for the first time by herself. I was concerned for her well being at this time but I was comforted by the compassion of the staff in their treatment of her. I called after a few days and my call was returned and I was given great details of her behavior, feeding, and activities. This reassured me that she was doing okay, which I truly needed to hear. After we returned from our trip we received a sympathy card from the staff at the Meadows sending their condolences in the loss of Hayes. Such compassion for animals is the reason we choose to use the services of the Meadows Pet Resort. read more
