Neffsville Veterinary Clinic is expensive, especially on follow-up after surgery. October 2024 Surgery on my pet dog miniature poodle $2,500 (approx cost) July 2025 Same Surgery another $2,500 (approx cost) Follow up visits between surgeries cost were $ 5,711. All of this was for urinary infection and bladder stones that are made up of mostly calcium. I am not sure if this will re-occur or not and neither does Neffsville. $10,711 for urinary infection and bladder stones, including follow-up visits seems like a money machine in and out and pay high costs, at least to me. read more

Top-rate service, every time, and my pup - a picky young Shiba Inu - is always so excited to come and see both his two-legged and four-legged friends at Neffsville. We started going for their puppy socializing program when he was just five or six months old. He was introduced to new people, sounds, smells, and other typical vet stuff in addition to getting good play time with other pups his age and size. It was invaluable exposure for a breed that's known for both their general aloofness and aversion to being touched/groomed. Our pup is over a year old now and has outgrown the puppy program, but we continue to take him for daycare once a week and he still loves it. Nick and the resort team are fantastic to work with - easy scheduling, good communication, reasonable rates, and they are always just as happy to see my boy as he is to see them on his daycare days. It's convenient to get his shots/boosters scheduled while he's there for the days as well as the occasional nail trimming. We haven't taken advantage of the groomers yet, or the trainers, but those are two more convenient services they offer. We have boarded him for a couple overnights and one longer weekend and he has been comfortable and comes home happy and tired every time. Since the pandemic started, they have offered curbside service as an option, and they use the PetDesk app, which makes tracking Billings and loyalty points a snap (the more services you pay for, the more perks you earn - like a free nail clipping or free night boarding, etc.). But for those less tech savvy, or just not interested in downloading another app, they're also excellent at picking up the phone when you call and quickly and professionally taking care of whatever you need with email or printed bills for your records. My pup and I really cannot recommend the Neffsville team enough. And I know they have a great vet staff who specialize in the common domestic pets as well as some surprising ones like tarantulas, snakes, and rodents. Follow them on social and you'll see what a wonderful staff they have and all the great services they offer. You won't be disappointed! read more

This is long overdue but I needed to post this nonetheless! Words can't even describe how grateful I am for the team at Neffsville Vet. I have an extremely fear-reactive dog which has made vet appointments very stressful and difficult. Dr. Moog has known my dog for years but has been extremely patient with us as his reactivity has gotten worse. She is the most understanding and patient vet who puts the client's experience and comfortability first. It can be very difficult to find a vet team that is willing to be so patient and work around your dog's reactivity. We moved last year and still travel over an hour to come to this office because it is worth it. I scheduled several appointments with Dr. Moog to attempt to get my dog the vaccines he needs and he was ultimately too nervous to let the vets near him. Instead of pushing my dog too far or making him more uncomfortable (which would make his reactivity even worse), we worked together to come up with a plan to get my dog comfortable enough to give him his vaccines. I've been so impressed and grateful for the whole team at Neffsville, because they honor the requests of their clients and are patient with my dogs reactivity. Because of this, Dr. Moog and Marissa were able to give my dog his rabies vaccine recently which I thought would be nearly impossible. Thank you!!! read more

I absolutely am in love with this vet and Dr. Riehl is the best! I take 2 dogs and 3 cats to see her, and she is always so sweet and loving to them. I have a dog who is terrified of the vet and she is always willing to take her white coat off and get down on the floor with him to make him feel comfortable before even trying to start the exam! I am greatly appreciative of her time, her generosity, and the care she has for the animals and their owners. Aside from her amazing animal skills, Dr. Riehl is great with people too. She takes her time during every visit and makes sure all of my questions and concerns are addressed while giving lots of great information and taking the time to ensure I understand. The first time I met Dr. Riehl we connected instantly and knew she was the vet for my animals. She provided me solutions for my animals that no other vet would do and it makes me feel welcomed and valued here. I also want to give props to all the other employees here. Everyone at Neffsville contributes to the positive experience I have every time I come in and you can tell they love their jobs, and the people and animals that walk through their door. So grateful, still(!), for the Neffsville staff and the kind, gentle way they care for my pets. This morning when I called at 8:00, they had an appointment at 10:10 to see my sick dog. The staff was so nice to me and my boy. No guilt, just good care. Knowing he had an annual check-up next week, they tried to fit that in as well. And they offered me tips on how to save money for his medicine. Dr Rosenbaum was wonderful with him as was the vet tech (I'm sorry, I forgot her name), and the front office staff. Neffsville Grooming is terrible-Do not use them if you care about your dog. Not only are the unsafe, they are difficult to deal with/unprofessional, hard to schedule with (don't get back to you), and are not good with the dogs. We have tried a few different groomers in the area and this was our worst experience ever. I could post more horrifying details but I think readers get my point. So many better grooming salons here in our area. read more

When you walk in they are very nice , other then that I feel that they take advantage of the fact that you love you"re pet and would do anything to help them. We went in for blood test for our dog , it took 15 min and we were charged $500+dollars...we had blood tests before from other vets and the price was not even close to the $500+ we were charged at Neffsville Veterinary ClinicI feel that they rake you for every penny they can squeeze from you, it's actually ridiculous! We are looking for another veterinary clinic close to us, do yourself a favor and shop around, there are plenty of great veterinary clinics that are more affordable ! I would be nice too ,if I was overcharging you every time you come in! Fist time there we were told that they would not groom our dog unless we got our dog a flu vaccine (money grab) then our dog needed surgery and at the last minute they offered a laser surgery option at an additional price increase, they tell you it's easier on the animals and they heal at a more rapid rate ( money grab) so what are you going to say to that? , they shame you into paying more and play on you"re emotions ,to get every dime they can from you! read more

I would not recommend boarding your animal here . My rescue dog comes with some basic instruction , all were ignored , and without apology. Absolutely inexcusable and bad business. I'm still in disbelief at this entire nightmare of an experience for me and more importantly my poor dog. read more

I have been highly satisfied with the service at Neffsville from the veterinarians, techs, and office staff. Dr. Blithe and Dr. Rouen were great with my kitten! (And toddler who was along for the visit). I switched practices after I got a kitten from the Humane League and had concerns about fleas and parasites. Our prior vet's office told us there would be a week wait to be seen because she was a "new client." (We were longtime clients and had spent thousands of dollars there earlier this year on our 15 year old kitty that passed away from cancer). I contacted Neffsville and got an appointment within one business day. I asked around and heard only positive things about the vets. I'm glad we made this change - it's so important to have a practice you can count on! read more

I've been going to Neffsville veterinary clinic for over 3 1/2 years for my French bulldogs and yesterday I was treated horribly by the owner Dr. Andrew Sloyer because he told me I questioned his policy about a billing issue and he told me to leave his facility and never come back after spending $21,000 there in the last 3 1/2 years and I would highly recommend no one go there because all they care about is the money!!! read more

I've been seeing Dr. Parr for a few years now and my only regret is that I didn't take my dog to her sooner. The clinic is always clean and reasonably on time. Whenever Marlee comes in with a problem, the staff calls and checks in on her the next day. They even submit invoices to pet insurance for you. Their customer service can't be beat, but more importantly, I always trust that Marlee is in the best hands with Dr. Parr. Going to the vet is expensive, but I never feel like they're "nickel and diming" me or pushing unnecessary procedures. read more

I also applaud your comment because it gives me a reason to leave another 1-star review on the infamous business review site, Yelp. I really don't have time for this but this is amusing to me so I will just add something to the conversation to satisfy my own amusement. I understand you are commenting back to show "yelpers" that you are an established business and the customers who leave bad reviews, are not correct in their story or have a misunderstanding of the situation. For this situation, I believe you have your side and we have our side of the story but we can both agree that the victim is my dog. I understand your technician was caught up in the situation involved and I apologize for that, but again, our aging dog has not had the easiest life in the beginning. So when we ask to please take care of our dog and not upset her with the "literally most basic" (your words) instructions, we trusted that they would be carried out. Your comment was very sincere at the end but it did prompt me to write another review. As you stated "we truly hope that she receives the behavioral help that she needs", if you truly meant that, you would have reached out to us and assisted us in helping to find someone to work with our dog. You would have taken the next step in further guiding us in a correct direction to ensure this does not happen again. This is your profession; I would believe you would want to help animals and the people that take care of them. Instead, you kicked us out of your lodging program and told us never to return again. I hope you can understand why this turned into a stupid yelp review thing. Instead of having Kelly K respond on yelp, you should have reached out personally to help guide us in the right direction and then the comment would have most likely changed. I do not recommend Neffsville Veterinary Clinic. My Golden died 35 days after his last visit to the practice. He started with a limp in 11/2020. He was given medication deemed arthritis. A follow up with worsening symptoms on 12/30. The provider was argumentative , and arrogant with my questioning. I was provided more arthritis medication. An X-ray was performed. I was given a diagnosis of an elbow X-ray. ~ arthritis. Forward today 2/5 .. my golden had a fatal form of sarcoma in his elbow which metastasized. After the 12/30 visit and due to the demeanor of the practioner we moved to a new practice. The doctor at Neffsville told me they had thousands of patients. In any event another practice knew right away my golden had cancer by exam. They examined him .. he was sent to Hope Hospital in Malvern were the diagnosis was confirmed. My golden died on 2/5/2021. Our golden would have benefited from palliative care / supportive symptom management of his disease process instead of a crisis management had he been diagnosed or refereed out. The practice is too large , too many metics and not patient centered. We feel we made an error in choosing this group. I would chose a smaller group more clinically centered. The metrics , or patient volume were more important than care. All pets should be examined. They should not assume a diagnosis of arthritis due to age or breed. We are a family with a high health literacy. This practice per Dr Grove has so many patients losing one just did not matter. My dog , Charley really lost out ... zero empathy from Dr Grove. read more

I have been bringing my cats here for 3 + years. I love this facility and the staff. The doctors and nursing staff are always super inviting, friendly, and caring. I have met many of the vets here and there's not any one I wouldn't recommend or I wouldn't personally see again. Facility is always clean and well illuminated. I recently had to out my pug down, it was one of the most difficult things I ever had to do. Honestly, the best part about the whole process is how easy they made it. I've never been to a place of business and received that much support, compassion and understanding. They took the time and listened to all of our concerns. Our puppy is 8 months old and the last vet we were at didn't even care to hear about the concerns we had and they wouldn't even allow us to go into the room with our pet. Do not come to this practice, they are very unprofessional up front and are not keeping up with covid guidelines. I've heard several nurses talk about covid outbreaks in the clinic and it concerns me since I don't see any one wearing masks or keeping up with sanitizing or maintaining distance. We just found this vet right after we moved to the area and I am glad we did. We have seen 2 vets in the practice so far are nice and informative. I defiantly like that they have someone come into the room to check you out so you do not have to deal with a dog and trying to pay in the waiting area! They are reasonably priced as well. Have been taking my dog here for 3 years, for a UTI that seemed to keep coming back. They kept putting her on antibiotics, which stopped working after a while. Asked them to take an x-ray to make sure it wasn't something else. They refused to take any x-rays/do any other tests so I took her to another vet who immediately felt her bladder and took an x-ray. Turns out she had a huge bladder stone, literally 1/3rd the size of a brick. Wish we could have caught this sooner but I bet you guys wish you were still charging me $300 a visit for antibiotics for something my dog didn't have. read more

My response to Neffsville's comment: 1. I never received any note from you, on 5/8 or any other day. When I asked for it I was told Dr. Hockenberry would not provide it. You offered to provide a different note that did not address the concerns of the boarding facility. And this boarding facility is the one you talked out of helping me. 2. If you've never had an injury in your waiting area, it's a miracle. As I said, I witnessed a dog fight and owners with no leash and no action taken by your staff. If two dogs don't get together, some other cat owner with less patience than me may be the one who finally puts a foot up somebody's ass in there. 3. Your supposed dedication to continuous improvement was not evident in my case, and I spoke to you for nearly a year-and-a-half about conditions there. I could find no evidence that you were listening at all. 4. The dog owners who recommended you have since withdrawn their recommendation. In their words, "Neffsville? Those guys are sitting up there in Manheim Township among people who have a lot of money. They don't care about anybody who doesn't." My review stands as written. Stop lying on this site or I'll take this to the next level and we'll get legal. read more

I have been taking my beloved pet here for a sickness that they kept treating with antibiotics for over three months. I started to get bothered by the on going sickness and decided to get a second opinion. When I took my pet to the new vet, with in 5 minutes of seeing her they demanded x-rays and found a MASSIVE invasion in her body. Neffsville continually ignored my suggestions, and kept telling us the sickness would "work itself out". So glad I got a second opinion, or my pet would have died. Do not take your animals here, they will ignore blatant issues and up charge you for meds you can get elsewhere for half the cost. They are lucky I am not taking legal action. read more

Neffsville has always been compassionate and thorough with my furkids, and I'm not quite the "typical" customer - we have guinea pigs. I've been going to Neffsville for many years now to see their small animal vet, Dr. Doman, who has always been fantastic. He is open to discussion which is great since guinea pigs can be tricky to treat, and he is always open to checking w/ his various connections at other hospitals when there is something he isn't sure about. The staff here is excellent and will treat your pets with the utmost of care and compassion. The only downside w/ Neffsville is the pricing, but honestly you get what you pay for. Many years ago we opted to go through with surgery for one of our pigs that involved a limb amputation, a procedure I'm sure many would have balked at, but not Dr. Doman. Our pig lived two more years after that as a tripod - I'll never forget when Dr. Doman brought him into the exam room just after his surgery, put the pig down on the floor and we all watched as the little guy waddled around with three legs as if it was no big deal, completely shaved of hair with staples and all. We had that pig for two more years until he passed away of old age. read more

As a former client of Neffsville Veterinary Clinic, I am dismayed & disgusted with how the practice is being run. My family and I took four pets there for 32 years, almost since the day they opened their doors. The care was always exceptional, except for one vet that none of our animals liked. One time, I was bitten by my cat and they were very helpful; in fact, I continued to bring my cat up to their clinic after I moved out of the area. Unfortunately, the clinic is no longer in the business of working with their clients. I recently needed assistance to emergency place my mother's adult cat. I live in a small apartment, and had no way to introduce her cat into my kitten's home---there was no separate room. I immediately called Neffsville Vet to get assistance... and received nothing but a website. I tried contacting the group, but met with silence until nearly a week later. The group said they weren't sure they could help, so I returned to Neffsville again; this time, all I received was a phone number. I explained that I couldn't take the cat, but no additional help was forthcoming. The poor cat was hours away from being euthanized because I would not abandon him and none of the rescues I'd called on my own would take him. My family & I finally found a vet in Elizabethtown who assisted, and the cat is now with a foster family awaiting adoption. I am so glad to have found this vet, and I will NEVER take another animal to Neffsville Veterinary again. It would not have hurt them to help a client who had been with them since they day they opened find a home for a cat they had cared for since the day he was adopted. The only time they returned my phone calls in a timely fashion was when they thought they were going to get a fee for euthanizing the cat. Oh, and the one place they called was incredibly rude to me and my family on the phone, trying to guilt trip us over considering the euthanasia of the cat. I guess they, and Neffsville, would have preferred that we turn the cat loose in Lancaster. read more

Very unprofessional and lack of understanding human emotions. Our dog had to get rushed to NVC for something eating at his flesh. By the time I found out my dog had to be put down I was saddened and hurt. Once I got there with another family member we were told by the staff to keep it down or we would be asked to leave! What?? As our family grieved the loss of our dog one of the staff came in the room again and repeated keep it down or you will be leaving. After she came back a third time I told her to knock it off and leave us alone. No sense of compassion at all. Came up with hundreds of excuses with why they had an attitude including staying longer than scheduled. Never again. read more

My girlfriend and I take our two dogs (a lab and pug) here, and they're the most compassionate, kind, and client-oriented vet's office we've found. Our pug has been battling cancer since last fall, and Dr. Rouen and the rest of the staff have been fantastic through the entire ordeal. They are very nice here! I've experienced a lot of other vet's to acknowledge your pet when you visit instead of the human. This is not the case here. They treat both the owner and pet very friendly. They also recommend what would be good for the pet but they don't try to up-sell on every possible item. If your appointment is at 3pm (for example) and your on time, they will bring you back at 3 or before, no waiting around. Their waiting room is very clean and open. The doctors are excellent as well. read more

Vets are professional and well trained; office staff is responsive and courteous, boarding staff is friendly and helpful. I've been taking my three dogs to this practice for several years and have received outstanding care and service, from routine exams and vaccinations, to grooming and nail clipping, and most recently for emergency treatment. One change they have made in the check out process - settling the account while in the private exam room with the technician - is appreciated and avoids queuing up at the check out desk with the pet. We have been going here for 5+ years and love taking our dog to "Dr. Kathy", but have worked with other doctors as well and have not had issues with anyone. Kudos to Dr Rouen!!! Excellent Doctor! Very patient and caring. I recently brought my "feral" cat "Ninja" in for a first visit for an eye issue. Ninja quickly lived up to her name! After releasing her from the carrier and before Dr Rouen could wrap a towel around her, she bolted from the carrier and scaled the walls, knocking all the pictures down and then scaling up the side cabinet and franticly trying to escape through the vent in the ceiling!!! Dr Rouen sprang into action and patiently handed the situation and gently captured Ninja and performed a thorough exam (as thorough as she could!) and strategically place Ninja back into the carrier.
