Giant Price Bait & Switch. Beware…read more We asked the young lady, Heather, how much a large, approx 24x36 rustic picture frame was? She looked at the price behind the frame and told us $100.00. I gave her my phone number and asked her to get back to me within a couple days on prices on a large table and two architecture accent pieces that weren't marked. Heather calls me back and quotes pices. But the price of the frame wasn't $100 but now she says it's $167.... But she would honor her original quote of $100 if I got there before it closed. So we postponed another event to come back and buy the frame. But when I drove all the way back out there...26 miles from Bartlesville OK...there was now a brand new price tag of $267 on that picture frame. Heather is apologetic and gets the owner on the phone.. Candi.... who states it's 267 dollars and Would not honor the quote of $100 that I drove way outta my way to come get. Unethical business practice. In a nice little store. Too bad I'll never spend a dime there. Ever. Dishonest and boldly unapologetic about the price fiasco and wasting my time. Don't reward this sort of blatant price racketeering scheme, folks. Because there's lots of other cool little stores that this would never happen in. Or order it online from another company...because business ethics still matters. And unethical companies like this store don't deserve our hard earned money. Big thumbs down. Caveat Emptor.

I have…read morealways wanted to go to Pawhuska and had the opportunity to while in Oklahoma with some girlfriends. The drive was beautiful. When we arrived, we made lunch reservations. We had plenty of time, so we looked around the Mercantile. I was a bit disappointed in the merchandise that was displayed for sale. It was also, very expensive. We then went upstairs to the bakery. I purchased a couple of cookies for my husband which he said were good. When our lunch reservation was available, we were seated quickly. The service was a bit slow after being seated, considering the place was not packed with people. The biscuits and jelly that were brought to the table were delicious. Unfortunately, that was the best part of the meal. We ordered soup and a grilled cheese. I choose the tomato soup which was not soup. It was the consistency of tomato paste and tasted like it had been poured from the can, with a little bit of sherry and cheese on the top. Not only was it bitter, but it was also cold. One of my friends asked to exchange her tomato soup for the chicken tortilla soup. She said it had no seasonings and was cold. As for the grilled cheese, well it was not good at all. It had no taste to it, and it was not hot at all, which made it dry. I had to put salt on the outside to give enough taste to the sandwich in order to eat it. I was so disappointed as I had been telling my friends how wonderful the place was going to be. Would I return? Possibly to visit the town more but certainly would not visit or eat at the Mercantile again.
