Great agency. Easy to work with and very pleasant to talk to. Covered all questions and made us feel wanted as a customer.

Every year my insurance went up despite no accidents or infractions and when I asked them to shop the policy for a cheaper option all I got was, "it's an industry thing, prices go up." The attitude I got for asking them to find a cheaper company was off the charts. This summer I was rear ended and my car was totaled. Did they help in anyway? No. I handled everything with the insurance company myself. What is the point in having an insurance agent if they do literally nothing? The icing on the cake was asking them if they could combine my auto insurance, my wife's auto insurance, and our renters insurance and being told there would be a large penalty for cancelling current policies and it would cost us more. We just switched to another insurance company. Not only was their no penalty for cancelling our current policies, but she found added coverage that Rogers Gray added that we never asked for (sump pump and back up water coverage... we're on town water). Our new agent combined our policies (with better coverage), and our monthly payments went from $316 to $195 a month. Avoid this company like the plague. They are lazy, dishonest, and incompetent.

Look else where to do business…read more Took out Workers comp when we had Nanny back in 3/2/2015, which was thru Amtrust. Cost was $314 with option to pay in 2 installments. We decided to just pay all at once...mistake. Cancelled almost 1/2 year later In September b/c we moved and no longer had a nanny. Was expecting something close to $150 back. Fast forward another 6 months, and still hadn't received our refund. After numerous emails, they refunded us $2...citing 'minimums' that were not disclosed when they gave us the quote. Amtrust told us that since we went thru Cluett, they had to be the ones to do revisions to get the majority of our refund back. Today, got another email back saying they could prorate some of the contract, and to look for a $30 refund in mail in 30-45 days. That means, we will be getting back 10% of our premium back after canceling the insurance and using only 50% of it... For comparison, when we cancelled our insurance policy (auto and renters), we got our prorated amount back within a month from another agency. Hope that $120 extra was worth folks understanding how you guys do business. Shame on you. Summary: Premiums are what are paid to insurance companies in case something goes wrong. In this case, when nothing goes wrong, it's usually a good thing. Except when you find out the insurance company doesn't do the right thing.

Basically, it is a minimum amount the carrier will charge to open a policy. I'm surprised the WC premium was so low as most carriers charge a minimum of 500-1500$. He should have been thankful he got something back. On personal lines it's a totally different scenario.
