We have insured with Brownstone for more years than I care to say!! They are a fabulous agency! I have their phone Number memorized and I can always reach a live person to help me and if they don't have the answers off the top of their heads - they call me back with the information that I requested. For example - the bank is looking for a copy of the insurance policy - they email me a digital copy immediately and also they email one to the bank! Poof - in no time at all. And Glenn- the owner is always available to talk if needed. They have been in the business for a long time and know the business, their inventory and especially "brownstones" in Boston! My master insurance is with Brownstone. After a claim where the home was destroyed by fire/water they paid contractor so slowly work took twice as long. They refusing to pay for code cost associated and in no way not in policy. Buyer beware. I may have to learn from Katherine and take this to the state insurance board. read more

Brownstone refused to pay a damage claim after snow damaged a roof that was only 7 years old. They are forcing me to escalate this claim to the state insurance board to be reimbursed. Buyer beware - getting a policy with Brownstone and you might not be protected in case of a loss. read more

Took over a condo association using this company. As soon as I had cause to file a claim, they became impossible to reach. A small water leak as a result of a storm has grown into a larger issue because they move at a glacial pace. Will be switching companies as soon as possible. read more

My condo association has been a customer of Brownstone Insurance for 6 years and we recently experienced some bad water damage in our building. It damaged a unit of a young couple who was expecting their first child very soon, and we were all concerned that the claim would not be settled and repairs done in time for them to return home with the baby. We contacted Brownstone to see if there was any way that our claim could be expedited and explained the situation, and they graciously took care of this issue right away. Our claim was paid and the repairs were completed just days before the new parents returned home with their new baby. Kudos to Brownstone for their claims service. read more

I have had a great experience with Brownstone. Unlike many agents my calls and emails were returned within hours by Melissa. I have a smaller condo association and was using another broker who had been handling the account. The other broker was good but there were very few markets that gave me a quote with full coverage and none that were competitive with the Brownstone price. I asked a ton of questions to Brownstone on the policy coverage, I got Answers with copies of the documents that had the coverage which made reading the 125 page policy possible. All I can say is great service, very professional and best price. I saw other reviews and really wonder how it could be the same place as every call and email I sent was responded to on the same or next day with courtesy and professionalism. read more

Zero stars, DON'T EVER USE THIS AGENCY. I saw the one other bad review and thought I must have forgotten I had written it. We just got our claim settled from August, 5 months after our neighbors chimney collapsed and fell on our house. They did not return our calls or email, and the agent actually hung up on our condo assoc rep! They are so unprofessional I can not believe they are still in business. read more
