Mingus, and also as an excellent way to avoid the excess of nearby Sedona. During the first visits to The Historic Connor Hotel my respite was Room 12, up the creaky wooden stairs to the top floor, where a king bed, private bath and great views of the Verde Valley greeted me every morning. I stayed for several nights, enjoying the first floor Spirit Room Bar and its live music and western comaraderie by night, and its strong coffee and light breakfast at first light if not too hungover. It was a wonderful space to write, reflect and philosophize. It might have been haunted like other places in town, but me and that ghost got along just fine. Two loners we were. I returned three times to Connor, reserving #12 each time. It was a home away from home. Although during those years I occasionally slept in other heads on beds in Jerome when I felt the need for a change, this 1898 stone and brick edifice always had my heart. We were immediately greeted by the two sweetest dogs that would periodically check up on us and keep us company. They were so well behaved. Occasionally The cat would also visit. Our host were always available if needed, but allowed all the privacy we wanted. The view of the stars from the upper patio with fireplace and hot tub had to be my favorite experience. The cedar fire had such a pleasant fragrance, and the sounds of wildlife in the area and the views were unspeakable. Even though if feels like your out in the middle of nowhere, there are so many things nearby. I understand why there is a three day minimum stays, you will want to spend more time there to relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. No tv is available and that was wonderful.

We booked a one night stay, just as quick overnight out of town (we live in Phoenix). We came up to hike and then headed to check in. When we arrived, we thought the property was charming. It had a nice relaxed vibe about it. It was also close though to restaurants, bars, shopping, and gyms to just walk to. When we checked in, the front desk woman Katherine said she had been up to our room a little while before we had arrived and it was "pretty warm", so she told us she turned the air on and it should be cooling down soon. Even though Sedona was having a heat wave, it wasn't that hot from what were used to in the valley. We went up to our room and "pretty warm" was an understatement; it was downright toasty! We closed all our curtains and blinds to help the room cool faster (even though it negated the "room with mountain views" selling point), but nothing was happening. After about an hour, the temperature just kept combining up. We called the front desk and they said they would send someone over. The first person came and stared at the panel for a few minutes, then left and said he was looking for batteries. Ok. Then, a second guy came and dismantled the panel and left. The first guy came back and was like "what happened here?" And we told them someone else came and took it apart. Then he pulled the entire unit off the fall and left. This revolving door of maintenance workers took about an hour. We were thinking of just going home because staying in the overheated room was not at appealing. We could sleep in 86 at home for free. Katherine told us to come to the lobby to cool off for a it, offered us a free bottle of wine or champagne, but we don't really drink. We were really tired for hiking all afternoon, but we said we'd go to dinner and come back and hopefully have some sort of option. Finally after a few hours they told us the cooling unit was frozen over from being overworked and we'd need to change rooms (not upgrade; we weren't asking for that). We had asked before and there weren't additional rooms, but something opened up. We were happy to move. There was a credit Katherine said she was going to take care of and not only was it not refunded, we were double charged instead and despite multiple calls after our stay, the issue is not resolved 6 weeks later. Anyway, when we got to our new room, it was much cooler luckily. Our bed was actually very comfortable and we were finally able to relax after a long, hot, and frustrating day. In the morning, my husband went for a hike with the pass he was able to check out from the front desk. When he got back, we went down to breakfast together which was said to be a "really nice, made to order breakfast". Who wouldn't want that? Well, that is definitely not what we got. There was one man working and doing everything by himself for a dining room full of people. We could feel the hangry tension as soon as we walked in. There was no hot water or coffee, no do it yourself toast options, no takeaway items, or anything. I had to go back to my room to use the coffee machine, our mugs and get water. This guy was trying his hardest but we just kept wondering why he was doing it alone, or why he couldn't put the bread and toaster and muffins out for people to just grab while they waited for their breakfast tacos. He didn't have a ticket system either or queue; just write it on scrap of paper. Several people left but we waited it out. Our breakfast tacos and muffins arrived and we looked at each other like you do when you eat at a friend's house and don't want to be rude, but also don't want to eat what's in front of you either. We tried to eat what we could and then took our dishes back to our room, then walked to Bosa across the street. We saw the AC repair truck had arrived too. We really wanted to like our stay at Las Posadas, but maybe we just caught them on an off weekend‍.

Perfect Labor Day Getaway!…read more Las Posadas was exactly what we needed -- quiet, private, and spacious. Loved the dry sauna, the large pool area, and the patio BBQ (we grilled steaks and had the best evening under the Sedona sky ). As we're cruising down the main street we passed The Inn Above Oak Creek and noticed they had a lit-up vacancy sign. We immediately went in and met with the inn keeper who offered to let us go see the room before we committed to booking. This is THE cutest little 13 room inn set right on Oak Creek. There is seating down by the creek, on the patio off the main room, and inside the main room itself that all have great views. Our room was very spacious with a 2-person sized bathtub and a fireplace! It had truly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in away from home. My husband was obsessed and wanting to know how we could copy it to have at home. Both of the inn managers were so kind and took such good care of us. You could feel how much they care for the inn and value their guests. There's always coffee and water set out. They have homemade cookies in the afternoon and homemade muffins in the morning. They have a bookshelf with various options for reading and a large selection of movies. On the coffee table, they have binders full of recommendations for trails and exploring the area. It was such a cute and intimate place to stay. I'd recommend it to anyone traveling to Sedona and I'd love to stay here again! We truly couldn't have found a better place to stay for Valentine's Day. We felt so lucky to have gotten a room here.

It's just like having a house in the Red Rock mountains with a beautiful private patio situated off the bedroom/family room and kitchen. It has a beautiful fireplace positioned in front of the bed on the patio side. The small kitchen has a stocked refrigerator, sink, microwave, Keurig coffee machine and K cups with a beautifully set table done every morning with large coffee mugs. Wine glasses and drinking glasses available. There is a bread machine that the staff uses to come in the villa and made is bread in it every day. The smell when we came home from a hike or exploring Sedona was a slice of home with ready to eat bread. The bathroom was huge, rustic and elegant with an extra large Southwestern tiled shower. It had a sunken bathtub for two with a fireplace on one side to give it an even cozier romantic vibe. A large rustic wood closet that followed the rustic vibe of the whole villa was situated on one wall of the bathroom. The outside of the villas had a pool and hot tub for warmer months and a stocked refrigerator for water and sodas. Help yourself. The main building of the villas had a warm sitting area with a fireplace and Christmas tree for the holidays. The office for the villas was in the building as well Gourmet breakfast was served every morning in this building off a menu with choices that change everyday, included with price of the villa. Very quiet eating area like eating in someone's dining room. In fact everything was included in the price of the villa. The staff was like family. Isobel who coordinated our stay also set up our dinner reservations in advance as well as mapping out where to hike and places not to miss. She made this trip a huge success for us. The property is situated down the road from beautiful Thunder Mountain where we could literally walk to and hike. Lastly they have a massage room to book a professional massage tailored for your needs. My wife and I both did a massage. Remarkable!!! This property and accommodations is perfect getaway and so relaxing. Definitely not a "hotel" atmosphere. Not what we wanted. Slowed me down to regroup before bringing in the new year. We will be back to wind down here again.

It was spotless and just so pretty. We had 2 fireplaces and a comfortable large king bed. We had freshly baked bread and that made the room smell so wonderful. It must be made there. We loved the jetted tub and the bathrobes were so soft. There is a wee kitchen with a frig and microwave. The TV was nice. We did not use it often. They have free WiFi. What we really loved was the charging station for our cars. We were with another couple. Each morning we had a wonderful breakfast. They also have fresh cookies. It is located in beautiful Sedona, one of our favorite places in Arizona. Everything in Sedona is expensive, so we love the few time we are able to go. The staff was very nice and helpful. They have a beautiful pool. We were very happy.
