A state of the art sound and lighting system make this a great place to see concerts. They seem to be getting great artists to come to Aberdeen also !! It is an intimate venue with up close and personal live shows. A small concession stand with drinks, pizza & popcorn. Every seat is Awesome. I will always try to see shows here, just some of the artists I remember seeing from the pictures in the lobby are Clint Black, Styx, Jonny Lang, Fab Four, Chris Isaak, Foreigner, Wynonna, Robert Cray, Loaded, Bill Cosby, Queensryche.... And many more !!! Well worth the trip, an Awesome night out !!

I am old enough to barely remember the old DnR Theater when it played movies. It sat idle for over…read more20 years as a storage building. It has been remodeled, and it is beautiful. It is great to see some of the older buildings in Grays Harbor being restored and used! First of all, there isn't a bad seat in the house. I sat in the 13th row on the right side, and it was a great view. It's a small theater, how can any seat be bad? The seats themselves are fine, typical of what you would expect in any venue. If you go to a theater, the seats are going to be close--it is what it is. I have visited the coffee shop in the past and bought my tickets there. It is an awesome atmosphere, and the service was always nice and friendly. It is clean, warm and inviting. To be fair, I did not go upstairs, and I did not buy anything from concessions. But when I bought my concert tickets, I was able to go in the theater and check it out. This theater will truly be an asset to the community. In fact, Billy's restaurant didn't have one empty seat before the concert! This will really help the economy in Aberdeen. I went to Queesryche, and it was a great show. The opening group was a band called Gord, and they sounded a bit like an AC/DC cover band. Enjoyable, but the vocals were hard to hear. Not sure if that's the DnR speaker system or not. But Queensryche was great, vocals were very clear! I loved the feel of the small theater with a loud band like that. The biggest complaint I had was that between acts, the doors were open, and people were outside smoking, and the smoke filtered right in to the theater. Maybe they could close the doors next time. It is nice that we don't have to go out of town to get good entertainment, and we have a theater that can handle it. Unlike the prior poster, I felt I saw a show in a manner that I would have seen anywhere else. It started on time with the first band promptly starting. I will admit, it did seem like it took a long time for the main act to begin after the opener, but I didn't mind, and I'm not sure whose fault that is. As for prices, you are going to pay to see a show. I have never compared prices to other places, but if the previous poster is correct, why not pay a little extra to see a show right here at home? You save on gas money and food to eat out, and you help your community. I will go back to the DnR theater next time there is a show worth seeing. The acts they've brought in have been mostly country, so I'm hoping for more variety this year. They have also allowed churches to have Christmas Services, as well as had dance companies have recitals there. Clearly, they are trying to be a friend to our community. We should support them.

We had a reserved table, and the food was pretty good. It wasn't just bar food, but they 'had decent salads and a nice variety to choose from on their menu. The waitress was pleasant and served without being intrusive during the show. The Royal Room is really nice on the inside. They do a lot of swing and jazz there, but it's a pretty small venue. I'ld call it more comfortable than quaint. Parking was a total pita, but the sound mixer was on point and the music was clear for every instrument with nothing over-riding anything else unnecessarily.

One process improvement since I last came for a show here is that instead of having the host check…read moreevery person in and then lead them to their seat (if reserved), they now put up name placards on the tables and let you find your own seat so the host can keep checking people in. This makes the queue run MUCH more efficiently. However, overall this place has actually gotten worse since my last review. Now, if you make a reservation (necessary for guaranteeing a chair) for only 1 person, they seat you at a high top that faces AWAY from the stage. As in, literally your back is towards the stage. If you rotate your chair, you face an aisle between you and the stage. The aisle is supposed to remain clear, but there is no real way for the staff to keep the area clear from standing-room-only attendees other than nicely asking people to move, with varying success. The venue's suggested solution is a small bench to the side of the stage, which they say you're welcome to move to if you can't see. Problem is, it seats 4-5 people max (fewer if anyone is manspreading) and is open to anyone in the room. The tables are moveable, so at minimum the venue could point them towards the stage. Fwiw none of this is the restaurant /barstaff 's fault. If anything, they seemed to agree that this is not a good setup. (Don't want to go into specifics to avoid getting any employees into trouble) A second issue with the seating is that once you sit down, the staff removes the reservation cards. This means that if you're at one of the high tops, walk in guests will ask you to trade/move spots. Don't agree to move unless you're ok with possibly ending up with no seat at all because it may be that you end up sitting in a seat that was actually reserved by a different person, from which you will be removed when they arrive. It's then up to the person with whom you traded whether or not they're feeling charitable enough to cede back your original seat. Other than the seating problems, I'd give this a 3/5 for acoustics and sound design (accounting for the fact that it's a small converted venue) and a 4/5 for the food (actually pretty good considering that it's a captive audience) TL;DR: Don't bother coming here as a single person unless you completely don't care about the artist at all, or you love the artist so much that you're willing to do anything to see them

Good selection of beers and liquor. Even grabbed some Animal Fries on a whim. Not bad for bar food. This was a mixed age show so if you wanted to see the show with a beer, they had a separate convenient entrance. The sound quality was excellent as well. Overall the staff was very good (security, bartender, runners).

On top of that, the staff interaction didn't help. I asked a simple question about the move to the new location and was met with a very unfriendly, unwelcoming response. I ordered my pizza and sat and enjoyed a very good Paloma while waiting. My pizza arrived and I left, I should have looked at it but didn't. When I got home it wasn't what I ordered it had chicken and spinich on it. I didn't want to drive back and reorder so I went ahead and ate it, it was a very good pizza but not what I ordered so I took off one star. From now on I will try to remember to look at what I get. Not sure if I got someone else's order or they just made the wrong one. I would still recommend this place because I have never had a pizza I didn't enjoy. Excellent acoustics, lovely regional wine, cider and beer offerings (don't forget your I.D.) and a fireplace if warmth is needed (unlikely as you will probably be up dancing if you go for music). The entire staff was wonderful. The owners, Linda and Jana, were professional, personable and attentive. We are looking forward to attending more events there as the summer hits. What a jewel!
