I started to come out to this gym in March because some of my friends' recommended! Willison onboarded me and trained me for 2 weeks. Then I joined the 6 weeks long summer challenge in April and made some good progress! Thank you, Willison!

Looking for a fitness facility that is guaranteed to make you break a gallon of sweat? Look no further as The Mission HQ has fitness classes with experienced trainers , that will for sure make you break a sweat with a mixture of Boxing incorporated with HIIT training classes. The facility is a non-profit, family-like ambience with a wide array of strength based focus weight lifting equipment (cage style squat racks,etc.). Many of the gym members give back to the community by participating in community service/donations.

I never do reviews, but I want everyone to know how awesome this place is. My schedule can be different daily and they have a variety of classes (boxing, HIIT, strength) and times that work with my always changing schedule. I love the variety, it helps keep me engaged. There is also open gym with different equipment to lift weights, and spin classes through Pedal cycling. The owner and trainers are all amazing! I have made many friends at this gym and they have become like family. We do fun gym community events together.

I reviewed this gym back in 2022, and they have now added fantastic additional classes (Low Impact HIIT, 30 minute cardio blaster, Mobility and Zumba). The six week pre-summer challenge has been amazing, where I personally have seen results, with guidance from the trainers, a food prep class and personal training. This gym is so supportive and a community to cheer each other on. If you want to feel supported in your fitness journey (no matter what your level of fitness), this is the place for you. I recommend talking to Wilson or Amy to try a week pass or a class. They even parter with Pedal Cycling, so you can take a 30 minute class and Pedal in the same location. All the trainers are great, and they take time to know your limits and get you to your goals.

Great story and influence to the community!!

Boxing boot-camp classes are so much fun. Beginners are totally welcome. The lifting classes and HIIT classes are also great.

Do they provide boxing gloves or do you need your own?

Hi, we have community wraps and gloves and recommend that you get your own if you decide to continue! 😁. Hope that helps! 💪

Pilates: I love attending the reformer classes, particularly Alba's and Jessica's, but I've attended most if not all of the instructors' classes and they've all been great. The weekend classes do get kind of quick so it's better to book in advance. Gym: Clean, never packed (at least when I go). I always find space to stretch with no issue and have never had to wait for what I need. People put their weights back. There are spray bottles and cloths to wipe what you use after. The bathrooms are clean, and the red light sauna is a treat (honestly my deciding factor for adding the membership lol). I've yet to use the cold plunge or the showers. You get $10 off when you have more than 1 membership. I had a billing issue in the beginning and they were very responsive and helpful. All together I pay $164/mo for both. The lack of a parking lot is a mild inconvenience, but street parking is hardly an issue with all the residential streets with free parking around Park. Great gym!!

From day one, they've been professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in my progress. Every workout is well-structured, challenging, and tailored to my goals and fitness level. They push me just the right amount while always making sure my form is correct and that I'm training safely. If you're looking for a trainer who is reliable, encouraging, and results-driven, this is absolutely the one. Worth every penny!

I signed my daughter up for a class, and after she attended one session (and after getting her excited about climbing), they emailed me to say they messed up, and the class was full. So they cancelled her enrollment and gave me a partial refund. Totally unacceptable! My daughter was so disappointed. After that experience, we joined another climbing gym and asked Oaktown Boulders to take us off their email list. They have literally emailed me half a dozen times, promoting new classes and letting me know about openings. EVERY SINGLE TIME, I ask them to remove me from their email list! No response. Unfortunately, my experience trying to sign up afterward was frustrating. Communication was slow and inconsistent; I often had to send multiple follow-up texts to get responses, and my questions about membership options and class access weren't answered clearly. I didn't receive straightforward answers until a phone call finally happened. During that conversation, I was told that certain classes were advanced and not appropriate for me, and that ongoing drop-ins weren't offered. I was also repeatedly steered toward personal training. Later, I received newsletters advertising beginner classes, which seemed inconsistent with what I had been told. While the workout itself was enjoyable, the lack of clear, timely communication and transparency around membership options made it hard to feel comfortable committing. If you value clear communication and flexibility, it's worth asking very detailed questions up front.

I joined Resilient strength as an experienced lifter (over a decade of time in both crossfit and…read moreweightlifting gyms around the East Bay, been an active coach in 3 different Crossfit gyms, and am a certified USAW weightlifting coach.). I needed a place to go that worked in the hours of my busy life. I'll start with the PROS (there are some): 1. The gym itself is nice. It's got all the toys and has kilos as well as pounds, which is amazing for folks in the competitive weightlifting world. 2. Brian, one of the owners works well with young lifters in his program. 3. Safe and secure parking along with a shower (I never used it, but it's nice to have it as an option). Now for the CONS: 1. There are only a couple classes a week. I tried a couple and determined that the 20-30 minutes of organized static stretching for the 1 hour class was not for me. 2. I was told to maybe not snatch where their dog was since I could hurt the dog, but that was the only available platform. I shouldn't be responsible for their dog. 3. Brian and Holly cancelled my gym membership very suddenly and unreasonably. One of the weightlifting platforms, made of untreated plywood, was slightly damaged during a regular training session. Two weeks later they texted me to accuse me of causing the damage, and of not cleaning up or reporting it to them. Truthfully, I did not notice any damage, and the pictures they provided of the so-called damage looked to me like typical wear-and-tear you'd expect from a well-used, unfinished lifting platform. Perhaps coincidentally, my gym access code had also been deactivated a week before this. I'm really disappointed Holly and Brian could not have approached this situation with more professionalism. An actual conversation rather than text accusations would have been appreciated. The photos added were the entirety of the photos sent, I have not edited nor cropped them.
