I brought my laptop into the shop for a free diagnostic on Jan 8, after a previous repair in Sacramento was unable to fix my problem. It took them just over a month to figure out exactly what was wrong with my laptop's ability to charge, and because my previous repair was faulty, they weren't able to fix it. But they were very upfront about the process, and even though it took them a month they didn't charge anything for their time when it turned out my laptop was beyond repair. As others have written, you have absolutely no reason to look elsewhere if you find yourself in need of computer advice and or troubleshooting and repair. Advice from a trusted and knowledgeable person is more valuable than any deal in a big box store. Tony and Tom shoot they only way they know how, straight. I can't tell you how much that means when you find yourself with a dead computer and no backup done recently. Ouch. I am very disappointed in the service I received from this outfit. They come to your home to check your computer and take it in to work on. No paperwork or receipt is provided. It was 5 days before I got my laptop back, and they "exchanged " my power cord for a defective one. Now my laptop is useless until I can buy a new cord. I know for a fact they switched cords on purpose, but I won't say how on here. Now I can't be sure what else they did to my laptop and if it will even work. read more

I bought a used lap top from Tony and had only at the most 50 hours on it. Tony gave me a plug to charge it but it was not the plug that fit it correctly. One day it stopped working and would not hold a charge so, I took it back to Tony and he said they would look into it. They had my lap top for over 4 months and kept giving me excuses why it was not done. Finally when I picked it up Tony told me it was working but needed a different charging plug to make it work. Before I left the store Tony sent me a link for the plug I needed to order. Well, I ordered the plug and charged it over night and low and behold "IT STILL DOSE NOT WORK". By the way I was charged $99.00 for the work Tony says they did. I would not recommend Modesto Tech for any job they could not fix the little problem I have. P.S. First of all Tony is an incredibly caring human being. He has helped with all of our computer needs. After the recent loss of my 20 year son, Tony reached out to help us with any of our technical issues. My son was a techie person who had his own you tube channel and made 100's of videos from BMX riding, jams, clothing labels, and even made a movie for his cousin when her daughter was born. I just got my computer back and I couldn't be happier! My iMac is 5 years old. She is still a better choice than the new machines available today. So when she wouldn't start up I was not a happy person. YES, I did take it to the Apple Store Genius. While they were very nice they wanted a lot to fix her and suggested I invest in a new computer. I took my lap top in and Tony (owner) could have charged me a lot of money to fix it, but he was totally honest with me. He let me know it just wasn't worth it, he then gave me a great deal on a new laptop for about the same as it would have cost to fix my old one. He even saved all of my files, pictures and software that I couldnt access anymore. I though for sure it was all lost and gone forever. I have since bought two more computers and a monitor here for much less then I could anywhere else. Modesto Tech Exchange repaired my iPhone and an Macbook Air. The Macbook Air had water damage and they explained the possibility of it not working. They would look at it and get back to me if it can be repaired. They repaired the unit and works as good as new. They installed a faster processor than original. Their team is good and honest. I haven't purchased anything here but the guy I talked to was very nice. I needed items repaired but he told me how old the equipment was and I could be newer ones for the same price. He also recommended for me not to buy the new were ones but two instead get knowledge on mixing in mastering it with the system on using.
