I called them to inquire about getting a 2nd mortage. The supervisor Paolo was adamant to run my credit without asking what I want done. He assumed I wanted a 1st mortgage refinance and he won't listen and just kept talking. I refinanced with a different company and they refuse to call be back and refund my PMI.MPI or Mortgage insurance. They keep giving me the run around and no returning ,my call after 7 times. I've paid my mortgage early every month for the past year. I paid my August payment in may and all was well. Suddenly, in mid-July when I go to login to pay for Sept...Im somehow deliquent by 35K and according to TMS I haven't paid all year. I've been calling in for 6 weeks now. Everytime I'm given a ton of apologies and some date that all of this will be completed by. I'm also told that someone will follow up with me. No one calls, and the date comes and goes and nothing is done. Today I learned that my credit score tanked because of their issue. I've sent in bank statements and even the trnsactions for the mortgage company before them...I get told every time that it will take 3 business days to fix. It's still not fixed, no one cares, and now my credit is reduced by 50 points. I've submitted reviews and will get a response that someone will help...I reach out to that person and nothing happens. Total crook Mortgage Company!!! My husband was laid off from work for nine months due to COVID. After we got back in our feet, we did a home loan modification with TMS to help us with our financial situation and get back on track. Our mortgage remained the same for two months, adding 4 years to our loan term. Then TMS did an analysis on our mortgage and our monthly payment went from $2499 to $3051, which put us more in a financial hardship. I was so stressed out thinking we were going to lose our home, crying almost every day. We had no other decision but to try to find another mortgage quick to refinanced our mortgage loan. After we refinanced our loan with another company in September 2021, TMS stated that we should receiving our escrow analysis refund check in amount of approximately $900 in Dec 2021 or Jan 2022, with the closing statement, which I received yesterday (12/2/21). Today (12/3/21), I just got off crooked TMS who stated that no refund check will be coming from our previous escrow because it all went towards interest and escrow shortage. Now, I will be filing a complaint with Department of Business Oversights in California who regulates is Mortgage Companies. This is the most crooked company I have ever dealt with and I have owed three houses! Total Crooks!!!! read more

My loan was sold to The Money Source, two months later they added a PMI to my loan. I caught them a year and half later. It has been eights months and they still can't tell me why. They will not tell me where the money went. When I call them now, they say there was never a PMI on my loan. that is till I tell them I kept the paperwork. Refinanced with Better.com and this is their default mortgage company. The escrow portion of my service has been a complete nightmare. I have a fully funded escrow account and have contacted them more than five times in the last six weeks, yet I am now delinquent and dealing with tax claims through my county. I was given the same answer on multiple calls. Finally spoke to a supervisor who was very defensive, rude, and nearly yelling. I let her speak. Called my tax office to find out that none of what she claimed happened with the tax office. I called back to talk to a supervisor and was placed on hold for over an hour. They will give you blanket answers. They refuse to reach out to you if you request follow up. Which is no surprise, considering they won't work to solve your problem. If you insist on a supervisor, they will stonewall your or give you attitude like it is your problem. I made my payments and notified them the first day I got a notice they didn't pay. I did my job, I wish they would do theirs. Unfortunately, the only minimal recourse are reviews, the BBB, and the CFPB. Avoid this company and Better.com. read more

It was a good experience until the last two months with them. They charged me ~$1300 extra in escrow two months ago and have admitted to their mistake. I've spent countless hours on hold waiting to talk to someone about it and the two times I've been picked up on the phone call "cut out" before I was even able to give my account information. Though they have the extra money in escrow, they wouldn't give me a refund until it posted on my monthly statement. This is a very unprofessional company, one of our clients refinanced their loan through this company. They have had insurance for their duplex for years and were set up to pay through their impound account for both units, and once they refinanced this company said they had no record of the 2nd unit. Its been literally 3 months calling back and forth with our mutual client to try to get the 2nd unit on their "data system" so the insurance can be paid, and we have still not received a response. Their has been several people we have spoken to at The Money Source claiming they are the managers, and advising us to send "legal documents" showing the 2nd unit on the property, they have us wait 10 days every time, and they have us call back, with no resolution. Our client Ms. Johnson has requested a legal document from the County of Los Angeles to show that their are two units on her property, and per The Money Source they are saying they never received it. These documents have been emailed, faxed, and mailed certified to The Money Source... and no one has resolved this issue, nor contacted the client. We have spoken to several different persons at The Money Source from Shane, Graham, Amanda, Karen, Vinney, Karla, Sandra, and Cassandra from the tax department multiple times. No one seems to have an answer for us, or have any resolution, but keep us going in circles, advising us that we need to send "legal documentation" than having us wait for 10 business day (its been about 3 months now). The last conversation Ms. Johnson spoke to someone their whom advised her to send these documents in the mail, promising someone will call contact her, and still hasn't. Her previous loan with her prior lender included both of her units as this is a front house and a back house, if this was refinanced, nothing should of changed with the information regarding her property. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. If I would have know the headache this would become I would have NEVER went through this company. Bought our house in 2015. We decided to refi in 2017 with another company. This started in Sept 2017. In Oct 2017 we learned from our new company that our taxes had not been paid in May 2017 when they were due. Reached out to The Money Source to get the run around. I called our county to confirm they had not been paid. It was confirmed & I have all documents. Called Money Source back to get the run around again. New company received a payoff amount and sent that. It was rejected because the escrow didn't match, because the taxes were not paid. New company paid the taxes (by rolling it into the new loan) so we could move forward to get away from the Money Source. Mid Oct 2017 asked for another payoff amount. Got it and new company sent it. Just to be rejected again. New company calls us a couple days later to say it was rejected and to see if we could call the Money Source to find out what the problem is again. We were told by the Money Source that the payoff we received the 2nd time was a internal payoff amount. Now its Nov 2017 and we are getting worried about a late payment. New company wants to close this asap. Mid Nov the Money Source finally sent us the right payoff and new company sent it. It was finally done, or so we thought. A few days later we looked at our credit and The Money Source reported that we had a late payment for Nov 2017. Credit score dropped by 200 points over night. Called them to ask why they reported that since we were talking to them almost everyday and we were told it would not be reported, of which we have proof they said that. In mid Dec 2017 they finally got it removed from our credit. The damage is done. ALL my credit cards have now lowered our limits. We can no longer buy cars or walk in the a place and apply for credit. Our credit now is the lowest it has ever been and of course there is nothing the Money Source can do about it. It was all their fault because of not paying our taxes on time. We tried to sue them to be told that we need to go to NY to pursue it. They took tax monies out of our escrow account twice to pay our may taxes and that money has disappeared and so has our credit. Do not do business with this lender. read more
