I hesitate to write a review because my words won't do it justice. This is a small private school…read moreaffiliated with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. It offers daycare, preschool and grades kindergarten to eighth. There are about 100 children in K-8. One classroom per grade! It feels like a family. The teachers are kind and caring. No child feels overlooked or left out. The tuition is VERY reasonable and scholarships are available. Besides core classes the students take Spanish, Bible, computers, gym, art and music. Each day begins with prayer. Every Friday the students attend chapel. New construction and expansion is planned this year (2016) as the church adds infant care to its day care services. This will also being improvements to the school such as the addition of a band room as well as locker rooms off the gym. Recently the school's kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Brenda Heintz, was featured on a Grand Rapids TV news broadcast. She won the WGVU Cool Teacher Award. They have been looking after my 19 month old son for about 13 months (since he 1st went into…read moredaycare @ 6 months). The staff is caring and interacts well with the children. They have consistently accommodated my unique requests. On the rare occasion that I've had a concern/complaint, they have dealt with it swiftly and effectively. I love that the children at this center are from various races, backgrounds and socioeconomical situations. I think that it is very important for my child to experience diversity (which cannot be found in my neighborhood). They do a great job of keeping me updated on issues that impact my child's development and interaction with others. Each day, I get a report card explaining what he ate, what he enjoyed playing with, any trouble spots he might have found himself in, how he napped and what his diaper schedule was for the day.
