We were headed to a wedding in Vermont & didn't want to arrive starving so we stopped by this place after we saw smoke coming from the back. We walk in & the vibe is like a rummage sale from the 60's with something from everywhere. Super eclectic decor. The bartender was friendly and kept our glasses full & gave us menu recommendations. The Buffalo chicken dip wonton were devoured up before the plate got sat down on the bar! Then for the entrees, we tried the burger, brisket tacos, smoked chicken salad, & the brisket sandwich. All of which was absolutely delicious!! Lastly, we ordered wings to go. The wings are smoked first, then deep fried to perfection!! Combo that with this butter hotsauce & you're in heaven!! Since they have only been open for a few months, a few kinks like some items not available will be worked out over time. The service has been friendly and not disappointing. On a long drive from Detroit to Ludlow, we have encountered many restaurants. Some good, some bad, and one that was outstanding. That outstanding experience was here at the Moose Kaboose. Although our stop was brief, the service was exceptionally friendly. The food was all freshly made, burger grilled to order, and apple fritters newly dropped into the fryer. The whiskey mountain burger was topped with garlic aioli, spinach, provolone, and bacon jam (I opted out of the tomato, but my friend who also despises tomatoes said that I should not have opted out because it was an amazing slice). The burger was amazing, with deep, complex flavors, and just the right amount of fun which I believe was a result of that unbelievable aioli/bacon jam combo. The original lemonade was delicious, but I would definitely recommend the maple syrup option. While the two tasted similar upon first contact with the tongue, the syrup developed a wonderfully deep sweet flavor that contrasted very well with that of the lemonade. The apple fritters were also amazing and very affordable if you wanted to split it with friends. We were recommended to try the bacon topping and it was definitely the right call. Don't let the relatively few amount of reviews fool you, this is some serious cooking. Thank you again to the Kaboose. Hopefully we will stop once more on our drive home. read more

Wow! The food, the drinks, the ambiance, and the staff were spectacular!!! This was an oasis in the middle of a desert!

We are visiting the area from TX and CA, and THIS IS THEE BEST restaurant we have been to out of Massachusetts, New York, Vermont, Connecticut and Rhode Island! Such a fun atmosphere, totally personable staff, and outstanding bar service! The food and beverages were delicious and suited all ages of our family. This place is well worth the drive. My boyfriend and I have been there three times now. The first time no one seated us for many minutes. A few servers walked past us, but no one greeted or even acknowledged us. Then when we sat down, it took almost 15 minutes to get a drink and menus. Plus, 2 of the 4 main menu items were out of stock already. When I received my pulled pork, the serving size was smaller than my fist! The second time we went, we met some friends there for lunch. We all sat at the bar and it took almost 20 minutes before we got our first drink! They took much longer to take our food orders and... no surprise, they were out of menu items again. The third time we went, a child was greeting us. She said it would be a 25 minute wait for a table. But she refused to take my name. She said she doesn't take names. How would she know who to call next to a table?? When I asked if they had all of their menu items in stock, she said she didn't know. Then she said it would be a 45 minute wait for a table. From the second you drive up to the little piece of heaven, you are treated like family. Everything on the menu is made on site, and very fresh. Mountain Bourbon Hamburger was everything and more. The fried food was exceptional, and the dipping sauces are over the top. All of the food was flavorfull, the effervescentness of deliciousness fills your senses, so be prepared to try many different items. Well worth stopping for. Stopped in at 5pm on a Sunday was moderately busy. They were already sold out of everything chicken, & brisket on the menu. The wait time for food was an hour and a half for a pulled pork sandwich, burger and pulled pork MAC & cheese. The Mac and cheese was swimming In cheese grease or butter. The food is 5 star and the speed your food comes out is amazing. If you are a traveler passing by its a must stop for "the food". The brisket and St. Louis style ribs were delicious! The service was a 2 star as their seems to be a lot of kinks this staff needs to work out. My server had zero knowledge of the menu, not personable and constantly had to ask the kitchen basic questions. Also the owner needs to update the silverware to better serrated knives. A full drink menu with prices is a must even if it's a piece of paper slid into the menu as it changes. Ambiance is still a little cluttered and the bus in the driveway is an eyesore plus cuts down parking. read more

I've been waiting all winter for this gem to return to Hoosick Falls! While I'm a huge fan of the whiskey mountain burger, I decided to try something different. I gave their smokey mushroom burger a go, and it shan't be the last. Juicy, delicious, that garlic cheese sauce is heaven on earth, and I want it on everything I ever eat ever.
