Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon to have a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised by the amazing service and delicious food. The waitress was hilarious and very sharp. We loved her. I had the Rachel with whole wheat (instead of rye) and it may be one of the best Rachel sandwiches I've ever had. Toasted bread, Swiss cheese, fresh turkey cold cuts, Russian dressing, and coleslaw. I googled it down as soon as I could. The fries were okay, but I'm also not a fan of those frozen bagged fries that have a little flour on the outside for better frying. Freshcut will always win my vote and I recommend CrossRoads considers it. Plus it saves freezer space and only takes seconds to cut them with a machine. With that said, the sweet potato fries were fantastic! In short, we're really glad we gave this place a shot and we will be heading back for dinner soon! read more

What a nice lunch, with a friend. Great selection of food and good service and servings. Oops, I thought I was doing a review elsewhere, why it was so short. Lmao Well, we ended up here after trying to go elsewhere for lunch, but the other spot was closed for vacation. I knew this would be a good alternative since I've been a few times. Everything I've had here has very good, from the wings to the wraps and years ago, a dinner. buffet. They have family to go meals like lots of restaurants are doing and I've tried it before for chicken parm night and it was very good. Our waitress/bartender was amazing and attentive. It helps that they weren't too overly busy. Occasionally, they have live music as well, also on the patio when the weather is nice. read more

Feel the need to update my dated review of Crossroads. My wife and I live just down the road and have stopped by at least a few times for drinks and food over the course of the last year or so. Ed and his team are doing some pretty good things in the kitchen these days and Crossroads is frequently offering routine, week night specials - something that keeps us stopping in. Food quality has (IMO) increased prices are reasonable and portions are large. Bar area can get a little busy and it's usually the same faces we see whenever we swing in. Glad we gave them another try and once we did we have returned to the fold. A large step up from my 2015 review. read more

Not sure what happened, but after three Friday take outs in a row with soggy, uncooked potatoes and cold burgers, we were out of there.

We haven't been here in a while but my spouse had a birthday meal to redeem one of the few local restaurants that still offer this and for the whole month. There are ample wait staff who are friendly and welcoming and attentive. Daily specials changing beer selection and featured cocktails. The pizza dough is house made with a special fennel crust. We were particularly pleased with the crumbled Italian sausage mushroom and banana peppers pizza tonight. The fried clam platter which I rarely see but I ordered here because the batter is incredibly light not overpowering and hand dipped. The company fries are lightly breaded as well and lovely. Homemade sauces as well. There's a nice vibe with locals and a nice age range. Plenty of space for families or singles and during the summer it's lovely to eat out on the porch. The owner is also present and makes a point to stop out and chat.I will continue to support this business and hope you do too great food friendly atmosphere that service and reasonable prices. read more

I ordered 2 plates of seafood scampi since I got it two weeks ago and it was fabulous. This time I got calamari (which I dislike),clams,and shrimp ( iinstead of clams, shrimp, and haddock ) in watery white wine sauce. This meal is supposed to come in a tomato cream sauce. I called and complained which resulted in me bringing my order back. Rather than remake another meal, the owner put a small piece of haddock on the meal I brought back and topped it off with marinara sauce. I went from having the best meal I have had in years two weeks ago, to never wanting to eat here again! I'm trying to like this place. Went in Friday night, they sat me and my daughter right down. They sat two tables down next to us. Waitress walks right by us takes care of the other tables as they sit. 15 minutes later the host catches the waitress and sends her over to our table to take our order. We place appetizer orders and meal orders. Again we wait, and wait, and wait. 35 Minutes later our appetizers come out, my salad comes out, our main courses come out, all at once! Our table is covered with food, no room for my lasagna so I request it be boxed. (It would have been cold by the time I got to it anyways) Needless to say I was annoyed. Tonight I go to have my lasagna and second bite in egg shells. I look through the dish it is full of them. Disgusting. While convenient to home I sure wont be back. Liked it better when it was Michael's lounge, at least then it was a dive bar with dive bar food and you got what you expected. No wonder the place is up for sale. read more

There were 3 waitresses working and no one else on the side we were seated at. The other side had one table and the bar was full. We got up and walked out the hostess asked if we wanted candy. This was the third time my family and I have eaten in the crossroads. We will never never come here again. After waiting for an hour for our meal we were extremely disappointed in the result. We ordered two pizzas for a table of four. The explanation we received for the delay was that they were slammed. Our server who just kept telling us it wasn't her fault and she had no contort over the pizza room. After our inordinately long wait our pizzas appeared half raw and the other half burnt to a crisp. It was disgusting the works pizza which had sausage on it was raw. And just kept saying there was nothing she could do about it. One of the owners Michael appeared and informs us that we were wrong there was nothing wrong with our food. He proceeded to argue with us that it was fine. As a business owner myself, if a customer is upset I do what ever I can to make it right not fight with them. Remember one good customer turns into three and one bad turns into 10. When you're this deep into Averill Park/West Sand Lake, the options afforded to you for a later in the evening meal are not that plentiful. However, this 'Grille definitely strives to set itself apart from other bar/restaurants with a full menu and some amazing pizza and wings options. After helping our friends pack for most of the early evening we needed a quick meal that was close to home. We got a large pizza and a dozen wings from CrossRoads and I was pleasantly surprised. Thinking that this would be just another quick and easy, down and dirty pizza joint, I was shocked by a perfectly thick and firm, well sauced and topped crust. Defitintely worth a try! read more

I am surprised how many poor and mediocre reviews there was here for this place. Picked this place at random when another place we wanted to go turned out to be closed. We were there around 7:30 tonight; it was almost dead except for the bar. We ordered the Saturday steak special which is several different courses-app, soup/salad, entree and dessert, all for $18. All was done perfectly and had gourmet garnishes and presentation. I got baked haddock instead of steak which was a little bland but again, done perfectly. The women's bathroom was so elegant, espec for a little mall restaurant! I think the biggest problem is an identity crisis. Trouble determining if it's a upscale bar or a sports bar or a gourmet restaurant, or a local's joint, etc. Has elements of all, but these different characteristics make it hard to attract a loyal following. Super clean and staff was personable--will def go back to try their regular entrees. My wife and I have eaten at the Crossroads American Grille three times in the past year. Each of the first two times, we thought that it MUST get better! It didn't. I am pretty certain that we've eaten there for the last time. The staff is friendly and courteous, but that's about the only good thing I can say about the place. Our most recent trip was last weekend. We went in shortly after they opened and there were only about three or four other tables occupied. Service was painfully slow. We both ordered burgers. Now, we love juicy burgers, but these were practically inedible! The amount of grease this place uses is ridiculous. It's as if they simply drown everything in fat. The last time that we were there, we had wings and they were disgustingly greasy as well. We also had "Saratoga Chips" and fries with our meals. The chips are really, really nasty (but oddly enough, not bathed in the same amount of fat). They are far overcooked, not salted while cooking, and taste yucky. The fries tasted as though they were frozen. I don't know if they were, but they sure tasted like it. They certainly weren't very good. The burgers were so bad that we could each only stomach half. I did let the server know and the offer was made to remake the burger, but I had a feeling that it would have just been the same anyway. We took the other halves of the burgers home with us and decided to just cut our losses and toss them straight into the trash. I really like seeing small-town businesses thrive but, if you don't do something about the quality of the food, I fear that your customer base may start dwindling. Met up with my parents and family friends last night for a low-key dinner to catch up. There are only a few options in Averill Park which are not bar/taverns. The resteruant looks great; they did a nice job remodeling. However, a place can only do so well on looks alone. The hostess was not very friendly and was rude to other parties when they asked how much longer their wait would be. She told my party and the other parties it would be a 15-20 minute wait for a table when it took 45 minutes. Our waitress was friendly but wearing, in my opinion, inappropriatly too tight spandex pants for work. We asked three times for chips for our table. The food took a while to come out but once it arrived it was a good eat. The waitress only checked on us once and did not offer to refill our empty drinks. She also did not clear off our empty plates; another waitress took care of them and brought us our bill and to-go containers after 25 minutes of us being done with our meal. The womens bathroom was clean but hardly any water pressure from both faucets. I'd be willing to give this place a shot again, but the service needs to significantly improve if they want to stay in business as well as their turnover time. The dinner took three hours including wait time which is too long for burgers and wings in my opinion. read more

This place could use a little love on here so I'll give it a bump. The portion sizes are huge, and the prices are cheap. They have a 14 oz NY Strip for 14 bucks, the appetizer platter is the size of the table, and they make the Mozz sticks home made and they are logs. Tons of variety in the specials, good pizza, great wings, and free wings on your birthday. I do agree sometimes the waitress is a bit inconsistent, but I have been here 4 times now and the food is right up there with Lakeview and Town Taverne with out the big crowds.. It is a bit more bar food than maybe some of the finer dishes at a place like Lake View, Westfall Station, or La Perla.. but it fits the role it is trying to fill. Give it a shot. read more

This place is decent. The servers are very responsive and friendly however the food isn't great. I'd give the servers 5 stars and the food 2 stars. Have eaten here a couple times and again, it's decent. We ordered the appetizer sampler and the food was pre made frozen and heated up. It's okay, you'll eat, but they could be better. read more

With few options for dining out in the area, I was pleasantly surprised by both the atmosphere and food found at this hidden gem in the 43 Mall. Crossroads has such a nice patio outside and definitely sets itself apart from other local restaurants (which outside of chains are practically nonexistent). My family and I have been coming to Crossroads pretty consistently since it opened a few years ago. It's great because there's options for everyone! Whether you want pizza, a sandwich, or a wonderful salad -- this restaurant will have it. The waitresses are always friendly and you can usually see management and multiple waitresses walking around willing to help. It's a great place to go any day of the week for a delicious meal!!! Have given this restaurant several chances both for dine in and take out. Have not had a single quality experience. Most recent take out experience included the thai peanut wings and mozzarella wedges. The wings were inedible, essentially plain wings with a thick chunky peanut butter chili mix thrown on top. The topping looked disgusting and had the consistency that can only be related to sludge. The Melba sauce with the mozzarella wedges ($9, for five triangles of fried cheese) was completely solid and clearly from a can. With such a slim amount of options in the area and the potential to provide an alternative to the usual dining spots in Averill Park, the Crossroads has failed. This restaurant has a great atmosphere, friendly and accommodating staff, and good food. I have been here many times and I have never been disappointed. Their burgers, fries and pizza are great. I also loved the fettuccine Alfredo, hot roast beef sandwich, and caprese salad. My kids love the boneless wings. And the salted caramel lemon drop martini is sooooo good. I do wish they would add a few more "healthy" options to the menu besides salads. I tried the baked haddock, which was absolutely delicious, but it had a lot of butter on it so it probably wasn't as healthy as I was looking for. Anyway, I would highly recommend CrossRoads Grille. Stoppped here on a nice Saturday afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner,I must say the place looks nice when you walk it and the waitress was very friendly and attentive.I ordered a Steak sandwich and I must say I could cook a steakum to death and it wouldn't be this dry,no cheese for 75 cents extra u could get peppers ,mushrooms,and onions ,that's 75 cents each so now that $9.75 item is $12.00 and for another additional charge you can get fries and cheese ,Pretty sure the more people catch on to this the less business they will have ,2 stars only because the hostess/waitress was extremely nice read more
