I was lucky enough to be referred to Matt Levy when we were looking for an officiant for our non-denominational wedding ceremony. Matt was very helpful and thorough from the beginning and he was quick to respond to our questions up until the day of the ceremony. He was also kind enough to refer us to his wife, Jennifer MacFarlane who runs Stylish & Hip Weddings so that our wedding photography could be amazing as well! Matt gave each of us a questionnaire to fill out about each other. We were given the option of knowing what he was going to say at the ceremony beforehand or not. We chose to not know. The speech was hands down, just amazing. It was unique and special, and tailored to us alone. It was very funny, very creative, and very sincere and special. It was never once monotone, boring, or typical. He was able to make both of us, as well as every single one of our guests laugh and cry and laugh again! He was able to articulate everything we said about one another in the questionnaires and present it in such a poetic, comedic, and sincere way. It was as though he'd known the two of us for our whole lives. From the moment I entered the cocktail hour post-ceremony until present-day, people have been asking me about him! Matt was honestly just a pleasure to work with. He and his wife Jenny were amazing to us when our wedding venue had an unfortunate closure just a few months before our wedding date, they were so kind to us and offered suggestions on new venues and told us they would continue to work with us no matter what! We had to switch our date and venue and re-plan an entire wedding with a whole set of new vendors in just a few months. Matt and Jenny had our backs and it was very appreciated. I find myself with a tear in my eye after reading repeatedly through the the wedding speech you provided to us and wanted to thank you again for the efforts you put into this. Matt was fantastic, I mean, there are truly not enough superlatives to describe how amazing he was. Firstly, Matt's website was detailed and has all the kind of information you need on it, like transcripts of some of his former ceremonies and even a video of one ceremony. We were planning our wedding in NYC from Australia, and this kind of web presence really put him a step above the rest. We filled in Matt's questionnaire separately and decided to take his suggestion of keeping his words a secret until the day. That was a bit nerve wracking, but it was so worth it. Matt wrote a ceremony that made it sound like he'd known us for years. I can't believe that we've only met him for 20 minutes, because it felt like being married by a friend. My friends and family said he was really engaging, greeting everyone as they arrived, and providing tips on maintaining moustaches. We had a fairly large-ish crowd too, and he did a really fun "crowd vow" which I thought was super sweet. We had Jenny as our photographer as well, which meant that she and Matt could help us time our arrival perfectly so that no one was waiting. I can't imagine hiring one without the other. read more

The Most Reverend (and frankly amazing) Matt Levy married my now-husband and I when we eloped from Australia to New York in June 2015. Well, I say eloped but we had some friends and family in tow! Matt was the officiant at my wedding this past weekend. He was beyond amazing. The perfect combination of sentimental, entertaining, humorous, and just plain good.
