We initially weren't sure if we wanted to go with a professional officiant or if we wanted to ask a friend of family member to officiate. We met with Mirelle to get a sense of what kind of ceremony she does and, honestly, to help understand how to put on a non religious wedding ceremony. We have friends and family that are great public speakers, but I don't know of any that have the experience to help us put together a ceremony that would as meaningful and thoughtful for us both as the one Mirelle had. Right from the start, Mirelle was super helpful and showed us her a la carte system for wording. She embraced our wanting to keep our wedding religion free while still adding nods to our Jewish and Mexican backgrounds. She went over all the possible sections of the wedding (welcome, remembrance, a reading, vows, rings, unity ceremonies, etc.) and how to customize each section (or leave it out completely) to fit our vision. If we couldn't find wording we quite liked, Mirelle was able to come up with an altogether new wording that ftr perfectly. We opted for an option where Mirelle put together our love story to tell during the ceremony. She gave us a few questions to answer so she could put this together and then it was a surprise for us on the day of. It was so beautiful and true to us that guests kept asking us what friend circle Mirelle was from. When we started planning our wedding, the ceremony didn't feel like it was going to be the most important bit because of our experience with other weddings, but it turned out to be one of our favorite parts of the night. Nearly everyone we talked to has commented on how much they enjoyed the ceremony and how it really felt true to our relationship and who we are. My husband and I were married on October 12, 2019...while looking around online for officiants, I came across Honeybreak Officiants and after reading all the reviews, I decided to send them an email.  I got an immediate response and was set up with Alex Black, who asked to make some sort of face-to-face meeting first thing.  We FaceTimed a few days later and immediately decided to go with her and it was the best decision we made.  I was emailed pages upon pages of wedding ceremony ideas, numerous choices for everything from greetings, readings, the ring exchange and the closing...after we picked what we wanted and emailed it back to her, she emailed back right away with any questions she had, or suggestions...she was also very open to any question that WE had.    On our wedding day, she arrived early and was nothing but warm and friendly...she came to sit with me and just chat while I was waiting in another room for the ceremony to begin and she was a very calming presence...I was told afterwards that before she came to see me she spoke to my husband and two sons, as well as greeted guests as they came in.  When we began, it was smooth from beginning to end - I felt like she wasn't just reading the passages we chose, but really speaking them to us and our guests in a very warm and friendly way.  When she proclaimed us husband and wife, she seemed truly happy for us.  Afterwards she had us sign the marriage license along with our maid of honor and best man as witnesses and then a couple of days later, emailed me a copy of it along with the text from our ceremony as a keepsake.   If anyone is wondering who to hire to officiate their wedding ceremony, I really couldn't recommend Honeybreak Officiants enough.  Thank you Alex! read more

OUR ELOPEMENT WITH HONEYBREAK OFFICIANTS: A RAVE REVIEW A week or so after we decided to elope in NYC, I stumbled across Honeybreak's Instagram page. We decided to take the chance and contacted them for a quotation. That's when we came into contact with Mireille. After sending some emails back and forth, all our hesitations were gone. We had found our officiant! Our experience with Honeybreak was great from start to finish. Mireille is a professional with a vibrant personality and lovely enthusiasm. She was very helpful and responsive from the start: as we were Europeans getting married in the US she informed us about all the documents we had to prepare and got in touch with us regularly before the big day to see if we had any questions or worries. My husband and I just married on 10/13/2018 with officiant Mirelle Eid in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. She was absolutely amazing throughout the whole process. I planned my wedding in six weeks due to having a terminally ill grandmother who I was hoping would be well enough to attend an intimate ceremony. As I came to the conclusion that I wanted to get married in New York, my next question was do I get married at City Clerk or should I have a special ceremony? I'm glad I chose the special ceremony because I found Mirelle on Yelp! She had a ton of great reviews and my favorite part was that she gave us the ability to customize our ceremony with different verses. She provided us with a variety and as I put what I liked together I asked my now husband to pick what he liked, and we had pretty much chosen the same readings. Leading up to the wedding, Mirelle wanted to make sure all pronunciations of names were correct and I requested for a video call and she was able to set that up! Not to mention that on the day of our wedding, it was only myself, the groom, our photographer and videographer and we were still late. Thank goodness I texted her because it was a COLD day in New York!! She was so patient even after we arrived 20 minutes late. My wife and I had the absolute pleasure of renewing our wedding vowels in Central Park with Jessica. I surprised my wife with our renewals so I needed to organise it all with help of Jessica from the other side of the world in Australia. It was the most amazing experience of our lives!
