Stopped in on a road trip because it was conveniently off I-68 -- found it on Apple Maps although it wasn't on a roadside sign. Very cute!! The interior decor is gorgeous and so unexpected for a small town. They have a back porch with covered seating and a gorgeous view of the creek and park nearby. I had the salmon -- really well seasoned. My husband did the steak burger and he doesn't get impressed by burgers easily but loved it! Service was excellent. Stop in! read more

Trash restaurant with one person literally running the entire place. We waited just to see anyone who could give us a table. Then sat down and didn't even get water after a half hour. Not even a nod or someone saying they'd be there soon. Guy just waddled around the place pretending to work. Nice patio, but doesn't serve food basically. We asked someone else there and they said it took over an hour to get their food and it was cold. Would be better if they just closed for the day. read more

Stopped here on a Sunday evening for dinner. This restaurant is nestled in a picturesque area right off I-68, located near Penn Alps and various stores. We sat and ordered two starters first - the crab and corn dip, and the fried mozzarella, as well as a Diet Coke. The crab dip comes in a small skillet which was piping hot. Served with pita slices this was easy to scoop onto the pita. I really liked the flavor of the dip, had several dimensions to it, the usual crab dip, but some crunch on top and a little sweet kick at the end. The fried mozzarella was a large square sitting on top the house marinara sauce. What made this a great item was it wasn't soggy - the breading was crunchy and the cheese was very flavorful. For my entree, I closed the spaghetti and meatballs - full portion. Served in a bowlish plate, this thing was massive with a heaping pile of noodles and 4 meatballs. Also served with two pieces of garlic bread. The sauce was a nice tangy marinara sauce and the spag was perfectly al dente. Meatballs - told a family recipe - were very good, and had the right blend of meats and seasoning. Dessert we were told to try the mountain berries and cream which we obliged and also tried the chocolate lava cake. The berries and cream was a great dish, cream was gelatinous and reminded me of a cold yogurt that packed a lot of flavor. The chocolate lava cake was standard - came out piping and the ice cream on top melted onto and into the cake making it a perfect end. Really liked it here - clean place, nice waiter (guy with beard and MGT hat and shirt), as well as ownership checking in on us several times. We had such a delicious dinner here! We were in town for a quiet getaway and didn't expect such a great restaurant in the little town of Grantsville. We met the owners (who were so friendly and caring!) and tried their top recommendations. It was all delicious. The lamp chops were amazing! The service was terrible. Started off with someone in our party getting wrong meal, then had to be reminded to get a beer that was ordered. The 2nd order did not have the garlic bread it was supposed to,so when it was brought to waitress attention she waited and finally came to table and said it would be credited on the bill instead of just bringing some out? No refills on drinks for anyone at our table. Lastly when the bill came we were charged for side salads after she asked us what side we wanted with our meal implying it was included. Not that impressed with my meal and it came out lukewarm while others at the table had steam coming off their's. Hopefully they can get this service issue corrected. read more

A hidden gem in Garrett County! This was our second time stopping in for lunch and decided to go for the mozzarella plank and some salads. Ingredients were fresh and the portions were perfect. Great atmosphere with a small town vibe. We sat at the bar and had great service. Beautiful setting and view, great room with bar seating or tables or booths. The best is the delicious Italian food. So glad to have this restaurant in the area, and Spruce Forest Artisan Village right there to visit. read more

The Mountain Grape Tavern (formerly the Cornacopia) is still in their "soft opening" and under new ownership. Friends and I went there for dinner last evening. While they still need to iron out a few kinks (additional help) we had a great time. The food is excellent. Two of us had the crab cakes (excellent); two had steak (again excellent); and one had salmon (also excellent.) The food could not be better and the prices are very reasonable. This place was packed and people were waiting for tables. The owner (Paul) was very cordial and I noticed he made a point to visit each group. We had made reservations so we were seated near our reservation time while those "drop-in" customers had to wait. I have lived in southern Maryland for many years so I know a good crab cake. This will be our "go to" restaurant. If you're on your way to Deep Creek Lake, this place is worth the stop. read more
