It was a complicated property, and we wanted a thorough evaluation and estimate of its value at the time of my brother's passing. Don Mowery spent 90 or more minutes on the property where he measured, walked, photographed and evaluated the premises. He was on time, completely professional and easy to speak with. Although comparisons were difficult, which we knew ahead of time, he found 7 properties that had changed hands in recent years and that had similarities with the property at hand. For each comp, he provided a lot of data and also photographs. For my late brother's land, he provided a ton of information plus satellite and other views of the property I had not found on public sources. I am still waiting for my appraisal after being told it would be completed 2 weeks after the home inspection. It has now been almost a month and every time I call all I get is we are really busy and we will let you know when it is done. This is ridiculous how long does it take to feed a few comps into the computer after the inspection is already completed!! I would not recommend this service to anyone. Stay away from this place. Took 3 months to do the appraisal. I had to call over and over. The day before the court appearance I was told by their representative that I would have it for sure. It cost me attorneys fees plus set up a new court date because they did not have it in time. Then they rushed me an appraisal over 100,000 over the price of the property. Not taking into consideration the poor condition of the property but just going off a generic valuation of properties nearby which were in pristine condition. This guy is seriously such a crook. He'll tell you how 'neutral' he is while he'll let one side of a divorces attorney pay him the night before a trial to amend his appraisal of a home without having stepped foot in it for over 18 months. He'll also compare it to comps with built in pools. On the plus side if you're benefiting from these kind of actions he's your man but if you're on the 'I'm getting screwed end' he'll make sure you take it up the tail pipe. I had the Mowery group perform an appraisal on my property April 11, 2022, for my divorce. They said it would take 4 weeks for the results. I contacted them May 6 and was informed I would have it that week (by the 11th). It is now May 18th I have recieved no appraisal or response from this company and they will not answer my calls. Last week I received three text messages from a nameless Mowery Group's Assistant that addressed me by my first name . The messages ask if I had found a property and if I wanted them to text me a few that were on the market. My response text included that I was not interested and ask if this was a sales person. I have yet to receive a response. I called the main number but the voicemail was full. This individual should have called to re-introduce themself and perhaps followed up with a text. I will never share my personal business with an Impersonal and nameless text messenger. The text number answers to the Mowery Group. All I get is spam from these guys. I inquired about a property a few years back and kept getting the run around from different agents with this group. Once I gave them my info, all I got was spam in my email of other houses they are selling and spam texts. All I wanted was to see one property they were selling, and after numerous phone calls and voicemails between 3 or 4 agents in this company I decided to move on. I felt bad for whoever was selling that property because they were getting poor representation from this group. Don and his daughter Makenzie are snakes! If you're in a divorce, he is not neutral and will threaten you with court for asking questions that could threaten his personal financial gain! Although I was willing to buy my ex out of our house, Don made sure the price got significantly raised on me and undersold it to buyer that his daughter Makenzie never showed it to, even though he had me show my home to others close to 30 times! It was a game set up for him to establish bids, make it appear fair, had his daughter bring in a buyer under the value, ignored my bid that was $47k higher out of spite so he got a commission and made my daughter and I homeless for 6 months!!! Do not trust him! Opposing counsel wrote him positive reviews and he did the same for her, yet claims there is no kickback bonuses! I will never understand such greed as to contribute to purposefully disrupting someone's life and causing financial devastation to actually make them homeless and have the absolute nerve to send congratulation on the sale of your house texts, knowing you displaced a mother & daughter that were doing all they could to survive a horrific divorce! read more

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! Don Mowery just left my house minutes ago after doing a court ordered appraisal. Upon entering my home, he let the door slam behind him. And this recurred each time he exited or re-entered. My mother let him do his route around the house, as she was tending to another matter. He barged into my room, WITHOUT knocking or announcing himself, while I was working with SENSITIVE MATERIAL, UNPRESENTABLE, and had small animals roaming and snapped a picture of me and my room just as I turned around to see who had so rudely THROWN OPEN and KICKED my door. He left my room and I threw on a jacket to inform my mother of the ASSAULT I just received. And as I watched her ask him for clarification on a few details, he SPOKE OVER HER and DENIED her any opportunity to reply or ask further questions. I went to politely ask him to retake the picture of my room as I felt VIOLATED that I was in the image with NO warning a picture would be taken and SENSITIVE material potentially visible. He offered to crop me out. I insisted he retake it and give me a moment to clear my monitors of any work related content. I had less than 15 SECONDS to reach my room and attempt to start clearing all of my screens before he SLAMMED my door back open, BERATING me to hurry up and clear my screens, YELLING at me to "turn them off, turn them off, hurry up!" And when I said "excuse me?" to inform him he was being rude he SCREAMED at me "if you're going to make me go out of my way to retake a picture, then you'd better be ready by the time I get here!" After retaking the picture, he BOLTED out the door, and allowed the door to slam YET AGAIN. When confronted over the phone about his BLATANTLY DISRESPECTFUL ATTITUDE THAT LEFT ME IN TEARS, HE DARED TO DENY the door slamming, the verbal ABUSE, and the blatant HARASSMENT. He claimed he had knocked on my door and I had given him permission to enter. I had done NO SUCH THING. Due to the nature of my work, even my own FAMILY is required to knock. IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME, YOURSELF, YOUR MONEY, YOUR HOME AND BEING RESPECTED, I ADVISE YOU TO NOT USE THIS SERVICE AS THEY WILL NOT SHARE THOSE VALUES WITH YOU IN THE SLIGHTEST. read more

I wish I would have read these reviews before accepting Don L. Mowery as the appraiser of my home for a family law case. He came to my house on October 21, 2018 and told me the appraisal would be done in one week. I paid him $500. Three weeks later I call his office and the receptionist tells me it takes 4 to 6 weeks to prepare the appraisal. I was not happy with that answer and asked to speak with Don. Don never returned my phone call. I called two other times in November and December again no courtesy call. My attorney finally received the appraisal on January 9, 2019. His business has absolutely no customer service. His delay did me no favors with my case. read more

His initial consultation helped to determine an estimated market value to allow us to get an idea of what the net proceeds of our house sale might be. We had some improvements that were necessary before the house could be put on the market. Don connected us with his handyman, Joe, who assessed the house and worked with Don to determine the "must do's" that would be most beneficial for the sale. Don had the improvements and repairs funded through the escrow so that no out of pocket costs were incurred by us. This was a great relief since we were still in the middle of divorce proceedings when we contracted with Don to handle the sale. The house looked amazing when it was placed on the market. Once my agent was to receive a double commission from the seller and the buyer she no longer seemed to represent my best interest and really pushed along the process so she could get her double commission. I never got a walk thru on my new property. I never was presented with keys. I never got an apology or admission of making any mistakes. I signed papers and was rushed along and my"expert realtor" did not explain properly to me much of anything which ended up costing me thousands of dollars. After the owner got involved and try to clean up the mess he informed me that "we do not really have to get involved at this point, we have done what we are suppose to do - this is just good customer service." when they made promises that could not be kept to both parties.
