Extremely frustrating experience. This group does not have the experience or aptitude for higher…read moreend work. This was not a small project - about 4-6 weeks of work. Owner is a nice guy but.... The work was very inconsistent. The mortar varies in color throughout the work, which was on three sides of the home. The joint lines in the first phase look like the work of inexperience. The mortar lines are very sloppy - they missed many. Less than a year later, there are many areas that the mortar has failed. We have stone wall caps, that were to be reset, per the quote. They were not...perhaps two small pieces were. These top caps were loose within a week after they left. This spring the mortar is literally falling out of the joints. With the multiple issues of the mortar color - some of the worse are these bluestone caps. They used a white mortar that looks ridiculous. They didn't lift the caps to replace the failed mortar under them. They just re-pointed them from the sides.....not even taking the time to straighten them. These guys need to use levels, tap measures and have better eyes. Lastly was the overall worksite management. They maybe cleaned up 70% of the way. Left a mess around the work areas. They need to sue tarps to protectbthe area. We are still picking up pieces of mortar on the ground. Parked on our lawn, after I asked them not to. Used a path in the lawn, that was just reseeded and that had to be redone. We trimmed some shrubs near the work for them. I asked them to let me know if they needed more space. No word about it from them....they just broke off the limbs of our mature shrubs bothering them. Warranty? Apparently not. Nick stopped returning texts and messages. I expect he is embarrassed and doesn't want to deal with the re-work needed. He should be embarrassed, but he should also step up and be responsible for these issues. Again....nice guy but

Great communicator and quality workmanship. I will definitely work with him again. There were…read moreseveral points during the construction where they had questions and at those points, they presented options.

He said that is the cause of the snow melt getting into the basement and recommended landscaping vice foundation work. This would be a huge saving for me as the foundation work would be tens of thousands of dollars. It was only a matter of time before it would crumble completely. Time to get it repaired. Unfortunately it was too far gone for a repair so a complete tear-down and rebuild was necessary. I received a few bids but I leaned towards Tony because of his positive reviews on several review sites. That and the fact that his bid was very competitive. Also, TK Mason did not ask for a percentage of the payment to accompany the signed contract. Some companies require a payment up front before the work begins and the remainder of the payment due at the end of the job. This was the deciding factor for me. There were a few delays, thanks to our rainy Spring weather but once a clear day was forecast, Tony's guys showed up and started work. They worked on my chimney all day, ripping out the old one and building a complete new structure. Their attention to detail was impressive and their brickwork expertise definitely showed on the finished product. They cleaned up nicely and left me with a chimney that will most likely outlast the rest of the house. I've posted a photo of the chimney taken while our roof was being replaced.

Since my job was a…read moresmaller one, I made sure to get under contract before the season was on us, which meant I could be fitted in between larger jobs, and sooner than if I had waited to book them. They show up on time, ask me good questions and make sure I am happy all along the process, and they do a great job! If not for the straw laid down to help the grass seed, I would not see any signs of their work due to the cleanup they are careful about. Thank you to Steven, Nate and Brandon for their hard work and kindness all along. I had paving stones similar to my last project, so see the photos for examples. This time the work was in a different area of the yard, and it is covered up with straw so pictures don't do much good. However, trust me when I say it is quality work. I highly recommend Dahl's, but get on the schedule asap as they fill up for the season faster than you would hope.

The contracted work was performed, but several problems with the finished work remained unresolved…read more We explicitly told the crew not to remove our mulberry tree. It was removed anyway because it was mistaken for buckthorn. The company replaced it with a much smaller tree and gave us a $100 credit to plant it ourselves. We understand mistakes happen, but better communication between the owner and crew could have prevented this. The lead landscaper, Brandon, told us he "didn't bring his notes." The crushed granite patio has been an ongoing concern. The work was completed and paid for on 5/8. My husband approved it at that time. There was no weed barrier showing through the middle of the patio, though limited areas near the brick border were visible and were discussed before approval. Brandon reassured us that the granite would not shift and that we "should not have any problems with the patio for years." By 5/13, only five days later, weed barrier was showing through in multiple additional spots near the brick border that had not been exposed on 5/8. My husband texted Josh about it. These were newly exposed areas that had not been visible when the work was approved five days earlier. On 5/15, my husband called Josh again with no response. On 5/26, Josh responded to an unrelated fence quote request but did not address the granite concern, despite our saying we were willing to pay for another load of granite. On 6/7, we emailed Josh because several seeded areas had failed to establish despite being watered similarly to areas that did grow. He responded 6/8 saying he would return to reseed, but no date was scheduled. We followed up 6/15. On 6/16, he said staff planned to come that Friday because they were working nearby. It rained, and no one came. On Monday 6/22, Josh emailed that rain prevented the visit and said staff would stop by Wednesday, weather permitting. No one came. On Thursday 6/25, my husband again asked that staff also inspect the patio. On 6/29, after no response, he called again regarding both the patio and reseeding. There was no answer or response. After these repeated attempts to get the issues addressed, I posted this review on July 3rd, 2026. On 7/10, without advance notice from Josh, one of his employees arrived at our property. She did not ring the doorbell or contact us before beginning work. Fortunately, we were home and my husband spoke with her. She looked at the patio and agreed the granite was thin in areas, and said she wanted us to be happy because we had made an investment in our property. She then overseeded several areas. July 16th, Josh responded to my Google review. The granite problem remained unresolved. Within about three months of installation, multiple areas were thin enough that weed barrier was exposed. Our concern is not ordinary maintenance; it is that new exposed areas appeared within days of completion and continued to remain unresolved. On 7/13, Josh emailed that the company would no longer return to our property and referenced my negative Google review in explaining that decision. The review had been posted before his employee came on 7/10 to overseed and evaluate the patio. Several seeded areas failed to establish despite being watered similarly to areas that did grow. The company eventually returned to overseed, but we may now need to hire another contractor to evaluate and correct the remaining unresolved issues. This review reflects our experience, photographs, and documented communications. We understand weather can affect grass and loose materials. Our frustration is with the additional weed barrier becoming exposed within days of completion, repeated attempts to have concerns addressed, the length of time the issues remained unresolved, and ultimately being told in writing that the company would no longer return.

Steve quoted $1,000. His crew showed up and barely ground out the old mortar (going only a 1/2 inch deep before coating the seams with new mortar). I climbed on the roof and noted the shotty work. I called and texted Steve to discuss. He himself said mortar should be no less than 3/4" to 1". FYI, web says 2 to 3 times the width of a joint. Then Steve scolded his staff for telling me that they only did 1/2" (see photo of receipt). Steve was more upset that I knew the truth about the work they completed then he was about rectifying the job. He wanted me to call Champion (another local biz to confirm his story - i certainly wouldn't trust them either). He refused to adjust the bill and threatened to pull his team without them finishing. But Steve had called really late one night to ask why I hadn't hired him yet & asked if I had went with someone else because they were cheaper. I replied yes & even wanted to know who. Steve had added all of these requests onto the quote that I knew were not yet needed & were confirmed by two other masonry's! I get trying to upsell, but don't add things to the quote a customer actually doesn't need right at that moment if that's not what they're asking for! Bring it to their attention & let them know it's something that needs to be watched & eventually addressed, but not at this time. And give the quote for what 'is' needed instead of trying to scam them out of more money for whatever reason you may have; no moral, no values, need the work/money, etc.!?! The masonrys that I had come look over my place, I questioned them re: all these additionals & said 'both' companies were so honest & said the 'exact same things'; "the majority I didn't need & the rest could just be watched & done if/when the problem ever gets worse"! The one I ultimately chose for various reasons, went above and beyond what they were hired to do & my home looks beautiful again! So the moral of the story is, please get multiple quotes from companies, no matter how small of businesses you are choosing to go with! It's worth it in the end...!
