Nissi's is a great event space. I know it as a host to local (and sometimes not so local) music…read moregroups. On their website, you will find a full roster of shows to include local bands, comedy, and a lots of tribute bands. They are also open to private events. I find myself at Nissi's about once per month to see my favorite a capella Rock Band, Face Vocal Band. Face has performed at Nissi's for over 250 shows, and while they have been hosted at venues around the country, and literally around the world, Face loves to perform frequently for their local fanbase. Nissi's and Face built a great relationship starting two decades ago, at Nissi's former location, and traversing the years to tonight, where I will see what must be my 15th or 20th Face Vocal Band performance at their home base--Nissi's (I've been to both the former and current NIssi's locations). At Nissi's there is literally not a bad seat in the house. They have high tops in the back, where you can see over all the tall audience heads and look the performers right in the eye, and they have a lot of floor seating of various table sizes. It's not a huge venue, I think sitting about 75 in the audience. Tickets are reasonable priced-- I paid $35 each for mine tonight. While my husband and I have our favorite high tops for two, this time, I chose a four-top high-top to accommodate my visiting family and myself. I like the high tops in the back, firstly, because I'm short and can see over everyone, but mostly because the sound is great when you aren't too close to the stage. You can also choose a table for two, four, or 6, or whatever you need. Of course, you can always purchase a single ticket at any table with an opening. Meet someone new! The food is also good. There is a menu of reasonable size, and you can purchase a delicious and varied cheese plate, choose from a variety of appetizers, or go full boar with a large burger (poultry and plant versions are available), a local trout piccata plate, tacos, or even a beef stew. There are salads, sandwiches, and wraps. There is a full bar, and a selection of wines and beers that are not too shabby. The servers are skilled and unobtrusive, as you can choose to arrive early and finish your meal ahead of the show, or eat during the show if you prefer (food or drink purchase is not required, but hey, why not live a little?). I find the desserts to be a bit much--large and too sweet, so I have usually skipped that unnecessary splurge. Until... two months ago when they added a homemade lemon sponge cake and ice cream to the menu. OMG, so good! Not overly sweet, and refreshingly indulgent. I encourage you to browse Niissi's calendar, here: https://nissis.com/shows/ Find a show on a date that works for you, and have a date night!

Service - 4.5 stars : table servers were fantastic (Mike is a great guy!). Looses half star since the kitchen is pretty slow, 40 mins to get our meal and they were not busy when we got there. I think they were also understaffed since the servers were crazy all over busy. Ambience - 5 stars : really cool setup overall, visually interesting too.

A long natural wood table on the second floor - indoor seating with a nice evening breeze coming from the windows. The appetizers we shared were all really good and the entrees were solid. Artichoke Dippin - Spinach and Artichoke Dip - the dip was cheesy and seasoned well to go with bread, cucumber slices, and carrot sticks. Big visible pieces of spinach and artichoke. Not Your Average Pickle - Fried Pickles - nice crispy batter but the pickles still had crunch Onion Rings or French Fries? - I thought these were both well fried, but giving it to the onion rings - these were perfect - couldn't have asked for a better one. Crispy Fish Sandwich - reminiscent of a fillet o' fish but with better ingredients. Comes with Thousand Island dipping sauce. Colorado Bison Burger - cooked nicely to medium, good flavor - wish the patty was salted a little more. Fried Okra - standard fried okra item - solid Worth noting - a dish I didn't try, but one of my friends ordered a Steak Street Mac & Cheese and barely touched it - they said the steak was overcooked and significantly under-seasoned. Our server (Ren?) was extremely attentive and just a fun person. Thanks for the awesome service. I thought Waterloo did a great job with standard pub fare and sprinkled in some fun twists and unique dishes to their menu. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Man what happened to this place…read more. Jasmine used to be my favorite bar in the area. They provided a varied menu with incredibly unique and delicious drinks with an upscale yet cozy vibe inside. However our last visit was anything but. Supposedly they've made the decision to drop the entire "old menu" as the bartender called it in favor for an uninspired and honestly boring Christmas menu with drinks that weren't even remotely on the level of their previous offerings. Yet the prices were actually higher than their standards. This current menu feels like something you'd pay $11 for at a dive or chain restaurant. After a relatively long wait for service, we ordered 3 drinks, having to repeat ourselves multiple times to the hostess that didn't seem to have any clue of what their drinks were called. Of the 3, none of them included the garnishes that were outlined in the menu, and one drink was completely wrong. We were allowed to keep it and had it replaced at no cost at least, but even the replacement did not have the correct garnish per the menu. I'm praying this place didn't sell out and it's just in some strange transition period between seasons but I won't be returning to check until some time after the new year and these awful drinks are gone. For now, go to Nora's.

It was less fancy/pretty than I thought it would be, but it's a good place to get a strong drink (based on the menu/ingredients - they all looked pretty strong!) and sit/relax. There was plenty of free parking on the main road, and some seating out front which was just outside. Would be a nice hang spot during the pleasant spring and fall months, or summer evenings!

It is said that they unveil a brand new theme each year and this year's theme appears to be focused on some Eastern cultures such as cherry blossom and bamboo forest with pandas. Not that I have been to many lights shows and yet I must say that I have never seen anything quite like this as far as my recollection is accurate. In its 12-acre land, the installations of lantern lights are everywhere. After 8:30pm or so when it's dark, the illuminations from the lanterns are glowing brighter than Las Vegas' illuminations (LOL - why am I comparing this to Las Vegas!!) According to the park's website, some of the sculptures are 23-foot tall (such as the cherry blossom gate.) It's currently open from Wednesday through Sunday until October 5th. And last night's was one of the adult-only nights where you must be 21+ to enter (I believe the next and last such night is Sept 17th. And this writing is as of late August of 2025.) I am already curious as to what the next year's theme is going to be. There is a centralized bar, some food vendors, a stage where a performer performs, and a DJ booth. Great for family time, girls' night or date night. Helpful staff were working tirelessly to assist all visitors. Although about 1,300 tickets were sold last night, it was never super jammed packed. There is still time to visit this enchanting light show. Not only for the locals but definitely one of the must-visit attractions for out-of-staters as well.
