Excellent museum with two separate building separate by the 6 lanes highway and connecting by a pedestrian bridge. Other than two buildings they have life size plane at the cover pavilion. The plane under pavilion are the passenger and old fighter planes. That includes the air force one. The first building on west is mainly space program. You can see the evolve space program from Apollo, space shuttle to private sponsors space vehicle. The second building is the collection of all kind of plane. I like the most is the black bird with Marc 3.2 speed. They even have the flying car. The education center and special exhibits are at this building. You can see the radar for the SeaTac and the entire United States. read more

The museum itself is gem and worth a visit. However we encountered an unpleasant and likely racist woman at the ticket counter on April 1st. There were only 2 people at the counter. She was on our right and refused to make eye contact and even turned her head away when I looked at her. Another white couple cut in front of us and was helped by the other woman After staring at the other woman on the right for a good 30 sec she turned here head. She reluctantly helped us. Later we discovered she didn't give us some handouts others were given for the Artemis 2 Launch party. This woman shouldn't be working there. read more

I had been wanting to show my husband this excellent museum for a long time, so we went on their free first Thursday. FYIs about free first Thursday: 1) it's a night and 2) the date can change if there is a holiday. This museum is huge. We made it through about half, mainly the outdoor portion across the street (they have a nice breezeway you can take and the outdoor portion is sheltered in a hangar but still can be cold or hot depending on the weather. We also visited the special exhibit in the original workshop (the original workshop is pretty cool; there are models of how they used to work in there). The special exhibit was of beaded pilots and outside there was a beaded jet. It was wild. Very interesting and thought-provoking, just like art should be. The cafe is open on the free first Thursdays although we did not go in. We made the obligatory gift shop stop and then headed out with visions of airplanes in our heads. P.S. I would be amiss if I did not mention one stellar staff member. I believe his name was Sean - so sorry if I get it wrong. All of the staff are helpful yet Sean went out of his way to talk to as many guests as he could and to share his extensive knowledge about the items in the museum. Such a fun place to spend the day! We went on a group trip here and we ended up spending the entire day reading, interacting with, and climbing aboard many aircraft. There is so much to learn, a really great gift shop, and interaction for all ages. My only gripe here is that the food in the food court area is truly not good for the price. We found most of it pretty awful. However, the rest of the museum made up for that and if we come again we will just pack a lunch. read more

Came here today (Saturday). You can reserve in advance but we just picked up tickets at the door (a few dollars off for AAA and military, military free in summer). Large parking lot and plenty of space inside so it didn't feel too crowded. ($26 per adult with discount, kids 4 and under free) We really enjoyed walking around and admiring the exhibits with our 3 year old. She liked the kids areas, interactive exhibits in the red barn and WWI areas and walking/sitting in the planes. We were here about 2 hours and would've spent more time if we could've kept her going, but we enjoyed our visit and we'll be back. read more

Museum of Flight is a "must do" of the caliber of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. The WWI and II exhibits are exceptional, and love the outdoor airplane hanger where you can walk up into and through Air Force One, Concorde, and other fabulous planes. Museum of Flight is right on the Boeing Field runway, so that makes it all the more authentic of an experience. Fabulous for our if town guests and great for kids. Came by the Museum of Flight for a work meeting, they rented out one of the auditoriums to sit our staff for the entire department. Our meeting was before the normal business hours. No issues getting in and plenty of parking was available. I've actually never been here before, so after my 2 hour meeting, I decided to walk around and check the museum out. I enjoyed it very much to see all the historical airplanes all over the place. Since I was on "work time" still, I had to be mindful of my time. I tried to hit each room at the main building and then was like what the heck, I'm here....Ill cross the sky bridge and go to the other side of the museum which is an outside type hangar. I am glad I did because you can actually walk inside of the airplanes including an old Air Force 1 (AF1). Overall, I enjoyed taking time to admire and view all the airplanes and learn some history. I would totally come back again when I have more time. I didn't look to see how much tickets cost since I was there for a meeting and that provided me access to the museum. It wasn't crowded during the morning so it was nice to take a look around without dealing with any crowds. I didn't realize an hour later after my work meeting, I was still there. I could've easily spent another hour there. read more

Fantastic museum!!! Located off the Boeing Airfield, this museum offers FREE PARKING!!!!! It can get crowded on weekends, but it's not bad at all when you come at opening. We got there around 11 AM on Saturday, and it was almost an empty lot. Tickets are $29 per person, but look into local Library (King County, Seattle) Tickets that can also be offered for free. I think they drop 2 weeks before the date you want to go around 2 PM. INSIDE THE MUSEUM: There's an entire section dedicated to retired plans that you can ENTER! Concord, Air Force 1, 747...the list goes on. There are so many awesome planes from military, commercial, to just fun designs and early models that are available to touch and walk around. FOOD: Beecher's Mac and Cheese ($8, 7/10) - For museum cafeteria food, this is honestly great. Pretty good value for a large sharable cup, comes super hot and pretty good overall Brisket Sandwich ($15?, 8/10) - This was a HUGE SURPRISE! Super juicy, tender, and delicious brisket that was honestly delicious. Quite filling, comes with chips, and very much enjoyed this item. - Comes with a side of cole slaw too, pairs super well with the Mac and Cheese Overall, super worth museum worth every penny. I had such a blast coming here. The current exhibit showing off African beaded art and the representation of the trauma of South Africa is amazing. The staff were all brilliant and we had a gentleman volunteer upstairs in the WW1 exhibit tell us a bunch about it. It was relatively wheelchair accessible, but I am a manual chair user with an 18" seat. I had trouble in the bathroom so I imagine a large power chair would have trouble. They had elevators to a couple of plane replica exhibits across the street but as of 8-13-2025 the elevator for the space shuttle is down. The elevator for the freight exhibit was dusty and had a spider with accompanying web in it. Luckily I do not have arachnophobia but the elevators need to be cleaned more often. The elevators have a weight limit of 750lbs. read more

Staff: Everyone here is so nice from the ticket counter to the many volunteers throughout. Quality: This place is massive. There is a main hall with tons of planes and gift shop at the main entrance. Across the walk way there is a huge space center and outside another 30 or planes. You'll see everything from a replica of the first powered airplane ever by the Wright Brothers, to WWI, WWII, Cold War, the Concorde, to Air Force One. For any lover of aviation, this place is heaven. Value: $90 for 4 people with AAA discount. I feel this is incredibly reasonable. Overall: Really love this place. It is easily one of the best things to do in the area. We were there for about 3 hours but I could have spent the whole day. There is a ton to learn so it isn't just lookout at planes. read more

LOVED THIS PLACE. Along a private air strip and owned by Boeing (or friends of Boeing), this is the largest private collection of aircraft. I spent 3-4 hours here, barely read signs, and still wanted more time. This museum goes through the history of aviation (think Da Vinci, kites, early gliders, balloons) all the way through some space exhibits. It also features planes of different types (jet, prop, sea plane, helicopters). It was a wonderland! One of the first galleries you may visit, you will get an appreciation for how much was done in the span of 30 years, from a tiny two-seater prop plane to a military fighter jet. It's incredible! Much of the staff appeared to be retired Boeing employees, and they are ecstatic to nerd out with you on everything you could ask about: material, ailerons, the marketing of the planes. It was a blast! There are SEVERAL non-Boeing manufactured craft: a Messerschmidt, a few Russian crafts, one made by France, Northrop Grummans, etc. The Concorde was a highlight for me! There were maybe five or so aircraft that you could board in their exterior exhibition space: Boeing 727, Air Force One (older Boeing 747), 747 "hump style", Boeing 787 Dreamliner, and the Concorde. Note: this is not an accessible experience for those with walking challenges. You board the planes using one of those stair options, and much of the seating is closed off using acrylic paneling, so it's very narrow inside. TIPS: - Bookable through City Pass - Didn't see it all? Come back within 7 days at a greatly reduced rate to see more. - There are tour map recommendations on what to do see for various visitation durations, but I recommend allotting 3-4 hours here. - Make time to see the Concorde and Air Force One in the outside exhibition. - Eat at the cafe to watch planes take off from the airstrip. - Awesome gift shop with everything from Lego, Tuskegee, NASA, SeaTac, Rosies, Snoopy... lots of fun options in here! read more

I was invited to a fashion show with Fashion Talk Tuesday for the Fashion in Flight event through Fashion District NW. This event was beautifully executed and it was so cool how the runway snaked through the hangar. The space is always so clean and well kept. We visited during the holidays with a party of 10 and it was a pleasant experience. The place was pretty crowded, but they did a good job of moving the entrance line along. We ended up getting yearly passes for those living in Seattle, the military discount was nice. The aircraft displayed were varied and sometimes unique. Very interesting museum! Would recommend if you have any interest in airplanes and their history. Place is massive, and semi expensive. Lots of cool deals and discounts though, and first thurs of every month is free! Lots and lots of planes and information boards about them. Staff is mostly friendly, and very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, a couple staff were rude: telling some 14 year olds they needed adults with them. The sign next to the planes states: "Youth younger than14 years need to be accompanied by an adult". The employee claimed all youth need to be with adults at all times. very ridiculous, especially since their adult was a couple feet behind them. There should be specific signs at the front saying that youth need to be with adults. There is a good amount of volunteers who are helpful, and extremely friendly Also, free tours included! They are very well done and are at the top of every hour nice little cafe inside as well. Massive pavilion outside( you have to take a bridge across the road to get there) that has the big airplanes. Probably my favorite museum for all ages in Seattle. It's truly huge; it spans two buildings and an outdoor zone! You could spend hours and hours here and still not see it all. The current exhibit featuring the MiG-21 beaded by South African artists was also incredible. The videos and exhibit enhance the experience of song the plane so much. Solid interactive activities for kids. Lots of interesting things to learn, planes to climb, videos to watch, and so on. Tons of free parking. The outdoor area can definitely be loud, so be aware if you have sensory issues. read more

A really cool and large museum. They have both space and aero space museums as well as sections covering specific events such as the world wars. This is a large museum that would take several trips to see everything. They have multiple sections specifically for kids so it's very family friendly. Split between two locations that you either have to cross the street or cross a bridge to get to, this myseum is so much fun. I was originally a bit underwhelmed by the first building we went to, but it was still pretty cool. The first building we went to had both indoor and outdoor attractions. The outdoor attraction was foraure my highlight of the visit. I've never been inside a jet before but they let you enter a nice hand full of the planes. The second building was much larger and all in doors, but also had a nice cafe and gift shop. There are several floors that are full of aero attractions. I forsure got my monies worth. Don't overlook this museum like I did for so many years. It's worth a visit and the price makes sense. read more

I've been here several times but this is my first visit in maybe 20 years. Lots I haven't seen. There's a beautiful two story section now devoted to WW1 and WW2 aircraft. The displays there are impressive. The aircraft pavilion wasn't covered on my last visit. Before it was just half a dozen planes setting out in the open exposed to the sun and rain. The first 747 built wasn't open to the public and in a sorry state. Also you had to walk on the street to get there. Now there's a huge structure above the aircraft, a walkway over the street, and they managed to squeeze in several more historic planes. You can walk through the first 747 as well as the 787 which wasn't even in service when I last visited. The Air Force One and Concorde are still there and were open to the public on my last visit and are still open now. They remodeled all the older planes and everything looks great. A huge undertaking for a 747! A stones throw away from the pavilion is a lone B-52 that serves as a Vietnam War Memorial. It also wasn't there on my last visit. There's a lot more space exploration displays including a mock up of the space shuttle cargo hold which is inside a building dedicated to space exploration. Of course the main display centered around the SR-71 is still there. And the Red Barn is there too. I spent four hours there. I think it's the best aviation museum in the west coast. read more

A place that makes you feel like a kid all over again!! We spent almost half a day walking around the museum and looking at some of the cool airplanes they have on display. Not to mention, they have a whole space exhibit... need I say more?!?? For me, the coolest part was being able to see the inside of the concorde, the air force one, and others. I could just spend all day admiring such engineering marvels. Admission is very reasonable (we were even able to get a AAA discount!) and you'll have the luxury of admiring some of the most amazing feats of human kind. Cannot miss it!! read more

What a cool museum. I'm not even a fan of flight, and I spent five hours here with my family. Walking inside Air Force One was probably the most notable highlight, but I also loved hearing stories about WWII pilots. The restaurant is surprisingly good here, as well, with reasonable prices. You can spend a good 2 hours here and still not be able to take in all that it has to offer. There are planes you can walk in and explore to absorb the history and life each plane has lived. This museum exceeded all of my expectations! The displays were great, way more aircraft than I was expecting. I also didn't think we'd have the access we did inside of so many planes. From the Concorde to the 747, to the Air Force One, it was cool to walk inside of so many of the planes. They were all in great shape and the volunteers were always nearby to answer any questions.
