This included: reading, counting and of course playing- all in and on Time. He taught me everything I needed to know about drums. Of course, I'll never stop learning, but he provided the platform for me to do so. I had a lot of fun, even though at times it felt very challenging, almost out of reach. I'm not sure how many times I said, "I can't do that," and he would just say, "Let's go", and we'd play, and sure enough I was doing it, did it. Self-efficacy at its finest. He just loves music, and he passes that along. He transcribes songs/ musical pieces- writes- has his own published workbook. I think the coolest thing is that he plays along with you! Again, to me, he is the epitome of everything a great teacher needs to possess. The results absolutely come, but the focus is on the process/ learning, in a laser like focused manner. Also, doesn't hurt that he is just a genuinely nice guy, who really cares that you learn and develop as a musician.

I visited him to get my cello's bridge lowered…read more Mr. Maday is very friendly - he greeted me warmly at the door, and led me to his workshop, which is a very pleasant space to sit down and watch him work if you plan to stay until the job finished. He looked over my cello, and showed me what was wrong with it - the factory setup on it was somewhat rough-cut, and prevented me from comfortably playing in the higher positions without my fingertips hurting. As he cut down the bridge and refitted the sound post, he kept me updated on what he was doing, and why. He knows what he's doing, and how to do it right. In about 45 minutes, he finished and led me to a different room so I could test out the new setup. The difference was substantial - the lower bridge made thumb position much less painful, and the refitted sound post seems to make the instrument more resonant. His prices are very reasonable, and the work he does is top-notch. Overall a wonderful experience. If something were to go wrong on my cello again, he is the first person I would visit.

I went from barely understanding good vocal technique to singing co-lead vocals in a band and performing solo shows. During your lessons, you'll learn an efficient, effective way to warm up. You'll then use those vocal exercises to learn songs. Danny really does know how to sing in every genre. I've personally worked on jazz, Broadway, rock, and grunge during lessons. Whenever I tell people I take voice lessons, I always talk about how knowledgeable Danny is about vocal health. Before I took lessons, I would often blow out my voice while trying to hit high notes. Now, I can comfortably hit notes out of my range and wake up the next day with a normal speaking voice. You'll learn various tricks to prevent vocal strain and keep your vocal cords healthy. All of the instructors we have had have each been so great with the children, the parents and care givers alike.
