Always a pleasure to go to NAMM and even under the conditions of Covid the trip was wonderful. Being scaled down from the normal shows it still held a charm for us musicians and the luster of playing and preforming was abundant. The booths were condensed but still informative and the live shows were spot on as to highlighting the joy of playing live. The support of the local food trucks were appreciated by all and a very good selection was present, the crowd was very respectful and courteous and smiles a plenty. Parking was a snap and the walking and waiting inline was at a minimum. I didn't spend the night for this show as I have in the past but perhaps the next show I will.

Wow! My son is a musician (drummer, guitar, bass, and on occasion he will sing) His passion is the drums and ever since he could move his little arms he was always tapping on everything (now I get why). He has always wanted to go to NAMM. He is now 16 and we were finally able to take him. It was so amazing to see all the vendors and musicians throughout the venue. There are some noise constraints so it was a bit hard for him to truly play different drum kits to get a feel for them but he still had a blast. He got to see quite a few of the musicians he admires (especially guitarists, he even ended up in a few videos) and met a lot of really cool people. Everyone was super nice and very supportive and happy to be together celebrating music. NAMM has several events and seminars that run throughout the day into the evening. There is a lot to learn and the seminars were great helping Jameson grow and learn as a musician. There were plenty of large and smaller businesses throughout the entire Anaheim Convention Center. I was in awe of all the talent and support throughout the weekend. What a great experience for not only our son but ourselves as well. Hoping to experience NAMM for several more years to come. And as a bonus the NAMM museum is even closer! Located out near the Carlsbad Outlet Center and Legoland we plan on heading out there and checking it out in a few weeks. Music works magic and I'm thankful for them keeping the music alive!

It's an experience. Are you a fan of music? Are you geeked about gear? Well if you don't already know- Monheim Microphone's holds a booth at NAMM and it's a most stop shop spot! Being inspired by the latest in the industry and also getting to listen in on different panels is so informative. I did have a hard time with security being unprofessional upon entry one year but have yet to have that experience since!

Venue: 4: Anaheim Convention Center is a great facility, with the exception of its parking (more on this further down below). Food: 1: Options are limited to mostly Hot Dogs and Cheese or Pepperoni Pizza. To get something better you need to venture outside the show floor which wastes valuable time. Prices are somewhat expensive for Hot Dogs and Pizza. Exhibits: 3: Booths are usually very well presented, but of course their quality and offerings are dependent on the exhibitor. Walking areas and booth spaces however can get extremely busy, almost as bad as the Times Square. It gets to a point that people start pushing each other out of their ways and bumping into each other without apologizing, which is pretty bad! Perhaps they can make the walkways wider? Parking: 0: The parking situation is horrendous! I think NAMM should negotiate agreements with the hotels and other businesses nearby to offer a lot more close proximity parking. Asking people to park several miles away and be shuttled back and forth is not a good solution and wastes people's valuable time. Also, Disney's Toy Story parking lot used to be a great option and I'm not sure why its availability was limited to Thursday only this year. It should be made available throughout the show! The Bottom Line: NAMM is my favorite trade show and I do attend many different trade shows! It is well-organized in general, but I think they should make a much greater effort in addressing the crowding issue. The parking situation is especially a problem and it does take away a lot from the overall experience! All in all, I always enjoy NAMM and try to attend regularly, but also hope that this enjoyment does not equate the "hard labor" and wasted time that I go through every year!

My first Namm. Well known amongst musicians and music industry people, this event is one of the largest music conference in the world, with every instrument or music tool well represented. But there is enough to learn to. Seminars and workshops are all over the Annaheim convention centre. And since you will be here all day, there is enough food stands inside and out the location. Be warned, it is a bit overpriced, but with your badge, I would recommend to get your lunch outside the conference halls for a well deserved break!

I LOVE NAMM so much. It's 3 days (this year music started Wednesday night, so 4 days) of live music, education, and every music instrument and piece of equipment you can think of, all in one location. I must of listened / danced to 15 bands in 4 days. I fell in love with so many new bands too. It's a must attend event for music lovers.

NAMM stands for National Association of Music Merchants. The event is mainly for music retailers and people in the industry to check out the latest offerings from numerous manufacturers. It's not open to the public. You basically have to be invited by one of the exhibitors or retailers to get in. I used to come here every year in the past when I worked for a music manufacturer, but never got to enjoy the show since I was working at the event. This year I got to come as a guest, so had a chance to relax and just enjoy the show. The event has changed a bit since the last time I was here. It appears to have become lot more business friendly, meaning less noise and less freaks. That takes some fun out of the event for guests, but good for people who are here strictly for business. Saturdays used to be called Black Saturday because of numerous people dressed in goth and rock outfits showing up at the event. Even that seems to be getting mellowed out. I can understand why. Organizers are cracking down on people making too much noise. During the event I received two emails reminding people to keep noise at a certain level. Guests in violation can potentially lose their badge, and exhibitors can get kicked out of the event if they don't monitor their noise level. Despite these new restrictions, I still think it's a great event for anyone that plays a musical instrument. There's so much to see, you will need a few days to check out all the manufacturers. There's always some celebrity sighting, free concerts, swags, and educational events. My only main gripe with this event is the horrible parking situation. Unless you are a NAMM member, you can't even park in the convention center parking lot. You have to park at Gardenwalk, Honda Center, Angel Stadium, or Disney's Toy Story parking lot, and take a shuttle to the convention center. I just parked in one of the residential areas several blocks away and just walked to the convention center. It took me about 15 minutes to walk but was still less hassle than dealing with a shuttle and paying $15-$18 for parking. Just watch out for no parking signs and permit required areas if you decide to do street parking. There are quite a bit around this area. I recommend downloading the free NAMM app. It will make it easier to navigate the event. It provides list of exhibitors and their location, scheduled events, and other pertinent information.

Attending the NAMM show is always interesting. It gives attendees an opportunity to see what is new for the year before the public. All in one place. That's why the convention center is a great place to hold it each year. There are four floors of vendors. The majority of vendors are on the main floor. They are separated by category, such as lighting equipment, percussion, and stringed instruments. I wished I had worn earplugs while walking through the electric guitar section. The ear numbing noise of the mishmash of sounds were quite overwhelming. Pianos and more well known guitar companies are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors, while smaller companies are located down in the basement. They have musical performances out in front of the convention center, and the occasional artist performing in vendor booths. There are also artist signings; those lines are long.

For anybody who is actually lucky enough to get a pass this is the place to be for all things on the new/next horizon of music. It must be stated (for the people who may not know) you can't just show up and get in. You must be an industry professional (whatever that means). :-). But, that is not a bad thing. What you encounter at NAMM is people from all over the world working to make music better and greater. You can to see and touch all of the best of the best and all thing new in and of music. I've been coming for years upon years and I am never disappointed. In terms of the realities of attending NAMM... If you're a local and not staying at one of the nearby hotels, get there early!!! Traffic and parking can be a mess. The parking lots fill up fast and, as they do, you will have to park farther and farther away -- perhaps even being shuttled to the event from some distant parking space. But, if you get there by 9:00 AM you should be good. Overall, the people are all very nice: both the exhibitors and the guests, they've introduced some fun food trucks in recent years, and you never know who or what you will see. Great Place !!!

Okay, as a girl who doesn't play music, but only works for a music company, this doesn't seem THAAAAT crazy. However - I have friends and a drummer boyfriend and plenty of people who were envious that I went to this thing that will back it up and say it's pretty great. Anything you could ever want to look at in the way of instruments, gear, etc. is here. You might even get to meet famous people! Stevie Wonder was here this year. :) I was working a lot so I didn't get to see everything, but all in all it's a pretty cool convention and you can definitely get caught up in playing lots of instruments, watching lots of demonstrations, and talking to lots of people.

The Night Market itself was alright there wasn't many vendors or much of really anything to occupy our time with. The screen they were showing Back To The Future on was relatively small and just wasn't an all around enjoyable size for the large group of people in the park. What this appeared to be was something that wasn't a too well thought out idea had they had a bigger screen we might have stayed longer than the first few minutes of the movie. The atmosphere on the other hand was killer I mean come on your in a park next to the awesomeness that is the Packing District so that was definitely a plus as was the free admission to the event. Hopefully they do this again sometime and put a bit more planning into the event as it could potently be a spectacular family friendly outing for all ages to enjoy!

Other then that, it was great, would've liked a little more vendors around to keep me occupied while waiting for the movie but other then that well done. My family and I had an amazing time! It was especially awesome to see the Disneyland fireworks going off in the background as that's my favorite thing about Disney.

Trance music is one of my favorites, and WW highlights it. They used to have 2 stages but last year and this year they cut it down to 1. I don't mind 1 stage because I never have to decide which DJ I want to see. But on the flip side, you better be happy with the whole lineup! Ticket prices ranged from $120-150 depending on how early you bought them. I might just be dreaming, but I feel like the rave prices of $60-70 like back in the day would be a lot more fair for a 1 stage event. This is a 21+ event, which I love. The crowd is much more relaxed and responsible than you find at other massives. The decor was a bit lacking for how large of a space they had to work with. I loved the abundance of confetti and streamers that they shot out throughout the night. The Wishing Tree when you enter is a gorgeous photo op, and a cute idea to pen down your goals and wishes for the new year. Coat check is available but I don't find a need for it now that they have moved the line inside. I want to get my money's worth so I arrive close to 7 when doors open. Check-in has always been quick and painless. There are 3 tiers, ID check, security check, and ticket check. My friends and I went to the front very close to the stage and were able to remain there the whole night. We were not squished for the most part and as people from our group exited to the sides they were able to get back to us easily. I didn't realize how far back the crowd went until I left at the end of the night! We were lucky to be in the front. When I go to events I don't move around much, so I can't comment on bathroom or water lines. They had water vendors walking through the crowd at the front of the stage so you don't have to leave if you don't want to. Water from those vendors cost $4 and there was a water refill station near the back. I love that the event is so local so that for once I don't have to drive all the way out to the NOS Center or LA. Getting a hotel within walking distance is the best idea since cabs and Ubers can take a while to book. DON'T BE A PARTY POOPER. WEAR ALL WHITE. And have fun :)

Go dance your tush off to amazing music, surrounded by beautiful and weird people, and melt your face off to a ridiculous light show. What better way to ring in the New Year than in a puddle on the floor of the Anaheim Convention Center? EVENT LOCATION I loved bringing the party to Anaheim rather than San Bernardino for NYE. It's indoors, which means a lot on a chilly December night! It's also closer to home for me. The big minus here is that the Anaheim Convention Center fills up with 10,000+ people on the same night that its neighbor, Disneyland, has its busiest day of the year. Getting in and out probably took me an hour and a half total because the streets were so backed up heading in and out of the festival. I even left early to try to beat White Wonderland traffic, and I ended up in the thick of Disneyland traffic -- so many people stayed in the Park til after 1!! GETTING IN & OUT While getting to and from the Convention Center was a challenge, getting into the Center itself was pretty much a breeze. Yes, the line was long, but it moved quickly. The single-door-open policy to get in to the center itself was questionable, as it meant the longest line outside in the cold. I luckily had a coat with me, but would much rather have gotten inside quickly, and waited longer for ID/security checks. There were so many shivering ravers and I felt so bad for them. But there were plenty of staff to direct us from the parking structure ($15, steep but better than the $20 at NOS) to the Convention Center, and I appreciated that CSC Event Staff never seemed to be far away. FOOD & DRINKS I finally got to eat some of the food! And it was incredibly average, and a little stressful in my all-white outfit. The longest line was for the sushi stand, and I was happy to recognize Rolling Sushi Van slinging their rolls at this event. If it weren't for the long line I would have snatched up some California rolls myself. I didn't drink as I was driving and really just needed water to hydrate, and that was $4 a pop. Skip the pizza, and the chicken wrap from California Grill is a hastily assembled wrap without a tortilla. MUSIC Once again, this is where Insomniac is firing on all cylinders. With only two stages this time, there were less artists than at Nocturnal or Escape, but they still had a great lineup. I was so impressed that they got some incredible names who were also double-booked on NYE! I'd heard that last year a double-booked artist no-showed as he couldn't get out of Vegas, and with 4-6 performers on their way to Oakland or San Diego after their sets this year, I was almost prepared to be disappointed. But everyone showed up, played incredible sets, and I danced until I couldn't dance or keep my eyes open any longer. Hardwell and Bingo Players were highlights, with phenomenal stints from Sebastian Ingrosso and Above & Beyond as well. If you are coming for the music, there is really no other place to be on New Year's Eve. My 2013 resolution: Complete the Insomniac circle with Electric Daisy Carnival in Vegas! See you there!!

But now: so much of the food is fried, inauthentic and expensive. The only good thing might have been some of the music stages. If you missed this year's, Labor Day weekend international Food, fair event, please make sure that you attend the next one. There is definitely something here for everyone, the schools, dance studios, you name it. Everything for everyone is here! I like the booth that read " meet the Orange County mayor". I didn't have any questions for him though. This year there was a wonderful area specifically designed for children. Apparently the restaurant, Canes chicken fingers, gave a lot of donations for this area. The only thing I didn't care for was the timeshare booth, they really didn't advertise what their intent was. I noticed that everybody was enjoying the food, it's just such a wonderful event! In conclusion, can't wait to go next year again, because it was really well organized, very clean, everyone seem to be polite. Parking was not an issue for us. We got there very early, and the weather was great.

I can't eat coconut stuff but that banana bread pudding was to died for, don't really taste the caramel. $8.49 for the Banana Caramel Bread Puddiing and remember you can mobile order this item. Now getting back to the Food and Wine, got my 8 item pass and you can order all at once at one of the main booth and pick up the items along the way, no need to get in line for every item you need. I purchased my pass at the first shop you see when you enter in the DCA to your left or there are other places you can purchased these passes at participation locations on which you can find on the little food and wine booklet. As you can tell by the pictures, i have label a grading systems out of ten and the most desires items are the mickey snickers and the sirloin gruyere mac & cheese, everything else were mid or decent, other than the three items that is not part of the SSP. This festival was a great way to try different foods but my partner and I were surprised at the portion size since it was our first time experiencing this. Since it is Disneyland, expect the portions to be extremely small. I think if you have the chance to, it's nice to part take in the festival but definitely not a must. Some foods were just a little gimmicky and not worth the price. Items that stood out and would get again! - Pickle Sour: 5/5 - Ramen Mac N' Cheese: 5/5 (goes great w/ the chili oil they included) - Sirloin Mac N' Cheese: 5/5 - Toffe Banana: 4/5

Why? As I recall Nguyen hue didn't have a food court. This had a food court which took over a side street n boy was that fun, they had my favorite "banh khot fr Vung Tau" grilled lobster tail. Soups, pancakes etc.. all the yummy street food you can afford wo having to sell your house these days. The flowers were amazing orchids, gladiolus there were many juicery stands, beef jerky stores, I bought a nice fake Chanel sweater only $25 just as good as the real thing. They also sell red envelopes for "lixi" happy or lucky money, on week ends they had live music n lion dance. I love the Asian Garden mall the only indoor mall we have here. Vietnamese from 49 states came here every year n most will immediately make plan to move to this land of milk n honey, it used to be really easy to move here n so cheap too. An average home I used to sell for $140k is now $1.4 million in Little Saigon so most VN tourists will just hang out here enjoy the ambiance, the food n have to go home, even then it's so worth it to visit a home away from home.

This one wasn't nearly as much fun. It was more families and less sexy stormtrooper parties (yes, that is a thing). The biggest disappointment is that the ONE official Celebration store was so overwhelmed and underprepared that it was closed after the first full day. When we tried to go in, there was an absolutely enormous line just to enter and truly frightening lines to check out, so we just walked away. There also weren't as many interesting panels this time or big events/organized parties. It was basically shopping at a giant Star Wars garage sale. Which is still not a bad way to spend a day. The food options at this one were much improved as well. And I did come home with some very cool geek toys. MTFBWY!

They always seemed to be clueless about what was going on or how to handle a situation. This is the only issue I have with the event. The rest of it is fantastic. There's so much to see and do. Pro Tip: Even if you live close by, as I do. Choose a hotel that is close to the event and I mean basically next door like the Marriott or Hilton. The Marriott was where we stayed. It was well worth the money because you will be exhausted and hungry at the end of each day and it save so much time. We walked out of the event and were in our hotel or restaurant in less than 5 minutes. You can easily do that multiple times a day without hassle and using a car.

It's in a busy area where the Disneyland tourists would hang out, I suppose. I really wasn't into the items that the vendors were selling. I mostly had Xmas shopping in mind. I did find some cute jewelry for my granddaughter. That was a good find! All of the food booths looked pretty good. I had a bowl of ramen from Daikokyua, which was a small portion, but very good for serving from a vendor booth. If the location had been closer to home it would have been worthwhile event for me. I wouldn't drive this far again. With that said, if you are local, it's definitely worth it.

This event should've been called "Taste of Gouging."…read more Let's start with parking. The parking garage next to GardenWalk is normally pretty reasonable. The first hour is free, and restaurants usually validate some of it. But during this event? A flat $20 just to park. If you pay by credit card, it's even more. Seriously? It's no wonder the event has "free admission" to lure you in. Then there's the food prices. I understand vendors need to make money, but charging $10+ for a single chicken or beef skewer, and around $25 for one Wagyu skewer, is just insane. We paid about $20 for two tiny skewers, and it definitely didn't feel like we got our money's worth. We ordered a Wagyu pizza that was close to $30 for a small pie. Unfortunately, it wasn't very good. The crust and bottom were mostly burnt while the rest of the pizza was soft; and for that price, they could've at least been more generous with the beef. Another disappointment was that, for an event called "Taste Of...", there really wasn't that much food. I'd estimate only about 30% of the vendors were actually selling food or drinks. The majority were merchandise booths, which is pretty lame. I went in expecting a fun food festival where we could sample lots of different dishes. Instead, we found hugely inflated food prices, limited options, and overpriced parking. It just wasn't worth it for us, and unfortunately, I don't see myself coming back.
