My wife has MCAS, which makes finding medications she can tolerate incredibly challenging. Even very small amounts of fillers, sweeteners, flavors, dyes, or unnecessary additives can cause reactions for her. She often needs prescriptions compounded with the absolute minimum number of ingredients possible, and not every pharmacy understands how critical that is. Mike, the owner, truly gets it. I've been the one working most directly with the pharmacy, and I am genuinely so grateful for the care and attention Mike has shown us. From day one, he has treated my wife's case with seriousness, patience, and real compassion. He has worked closely with her doctors to make sure each medication is compounded exactly the way she needs it, stripped down to the simplest formulations possible. Whenever something needs adjusting, he takes the time to talk it through and problem solve with us. What really sets him apart is how far he is willing to go for his patients. There have been times when our schedule or her health made it difficult to pick up prescriptions during regular hours, and Mike has been willing to meet me at the pharmacy on Sunday mornings when they are formally closed just to make sure my bride had what she needed. That level of dedication is rare. Living with complex medical issues can be overwhelming, but having a pharmacist who treats you like a person and not just a prescription number makes all the difference. My wife is definitely a special case with complicated needs, and Mike has consistently bent over backwards to make it work. We are incredibly thankful to have found him. This lovely female dog has a condition called Wilson's Disease, and the person who was elected to send me her compounded medication from Oregon was late in doing so. I made several calls to various Compounding Pharmacies in my area, and found only one who could compound the prescription the dog needed. Mike worked patiently and graciously with the pet's vet in Oregon and myself on a very busy Saturday to create the necessary dosage for this animal. Needless to say, Poppy the dog had her next scheduled dosage right on time thanks to this wonderful Pharmacy owner.

We're Hispanic and definitely got the vibe that one of the staff members was nervous we were going to steal something! The woman asked if my husband needed help 4x in the span of 20 minutes. He stepped outside to get reception and when he returned, she says "back again, I see". He met up with me towards the back wanting to leave and then she came up to ask if she could hold our items up at the front, I guess because she thought we were in cahoots. The whole thing is extra hilarious because we could easily afford to buy the entire store 4x over. My one regret is that my husband didn't share his experience beforehand so that I wouldn't have given them my money. Lesson learned.

If you know anything about the plight of honeybees and the fraud in the honey distribution business, you'll appreciate that the folks at Salish Lodge have tripled their original number of hives, planted wildflowers and berry plants that not only help sustain the bees but also are used in creating the Lodge's special jams, and plan to continue maintaining the apiary as a protected habitat for the bees. I purchased some honey (real 100% honey!) to bring home, and a tin of honey vanilla black tea that smells just heavenly. If you're into it, they also have Honey Ale and honey-flavored vodka, and chocolates made with their honey. While I've been going on and on about honey, The Country Store has much more. With all the pieces pre-painted/cut so you can focus on going through assembly as a fun time. Some of the models have very simple motor/light electronics which bring them to life. Unlike LEGOs, these are designed to be crafted together and then displayed without remixing them further. Large variety of model types. Some which fit onto a bookshelf and tell a story, some which are small city buildings, or some that are just items like flowers. The store interior showcases a large variety of the models, and staff were helpful with pointing out ones which fit a particular interest (we had a friend we know loves stag beetles and surprise, they had a stag beetle). The models run around $40 for the middle sized ones, and we ended up buying several, as nicer gifts to friends who we know would appreciate the fun of assembling them and showing off their creations.
