We were immediately greeted upon arriving in the hotel at around 9:45pm. The front desk associate checked us in and informed us about incidental charges and the restaurants they have on-site.
The day before I called to request a mini-fridge, extra hangers, an iron/ironing board, and a safe. Upon arriving to our room, everything that I requested was available. Additional features that I liked about the room was a towel and floor warmer in the bathroom, accessible and abundant outlets in the room, dresser, and vanity and double-sided mirrors.
Everyone says that hotel rooms are small in London and although it is smaller than in the U.S. it is still bigger than I was expecting although the bathroom is small. I also read online that king sized beds in the UK is equivalent to queen sized beds in the US, however, we got a king-sized bed so were happy about that.
The hotel decor is royal, elegant, and opulent. It is by far one of the nicest hotel I have stayed at. I love the red and gold throughout the hotel.
Given that we arrived to London late, we decided to have a late dinner at the NY Bar. We ordered and split the Chicken Schnitzel sammie which came with a fried egg and the Burrata Flatbread that had a Red Onion Jam. Both sammies came with a side of fries. We were sure the food was going to be just average as most hotel food is. Surprisingly, we were pleased with both our entrees. I had a hard time deciding which I enjoyed more.
Later this week we are having afternoon tea, which the foodie in me is very much looking forward to.
This is only day one and we have only stayed at the hotel for a few hours, but I love it and can't say enough good things about it. Highly recommend! read more
