I have been going to The O on Lane to picked up by Uber, but decided to have dinner before going to the Ohio State Women's Basketball game. Kaia took great care of me. I had their Bone-In Wings with Sweet Chili & the delicious Onion Rings and I dipped them both into BBQ sauce. They had history of previous Ohio State campus bars and hangouts. I was very happy with the wings and found the wings whether bone-in or boneless are half off on Wednesdays. I found from Kaia that current Ohio State student athletes get discounts from The O on Lane. I will be going back there again soon and will try their tavern style pizzas too. read more

The good- we were sat quickly on the patio, the music and atmosphere is fun and what you'd expect for a college bar. The apps are 1/2 off Tuesday so we stuck with those (and likely would've been better off if we didn't) which leads me to... The bad- every single appetizer!! we started with the sampler platter, and all three (mac n cheese bites, fried ravioli, and buffalo shrimp) most definitely came out of a freezer bag. And not even high quality frozen apps, the shrimp were the size of salad shrimp. We got the nachos next in hope things would turn around if we moved away from the fried items but I have to say, these were barely better. I would avoid appetizers at all costs at this place. The service was pretty slow too but I know that's standard for a college bar so nothing unexpected there. read more

We visited The O on Lane after a college visit at Ohio State. It's right across from the stadium and we saw photos of huge crowds on game days but on this lunchtime visit on a summer weekday there was plenty of parking in their small private lot, and plenty of tables. We ordered pretzel bites as an appetizer to share which looked like little buckeyes (cute) and had good cheese dip. We shared a house salad which was very delicious-cold and crispy. We also shared a large pizza, which was also great-hot and fresh, and lots of toppings. Service was friendly and fast. Overall a great experience! read more

When we got there not so busy but boy it sure is a popular place and got very busy.. we decided to share a pizza although lots of good stuff on the menu.?I had expected a char flavor on this wood fired pizza but none there. It was ok just nothing special. In general the pizza was pretty tasteless. I think it was over cheesey and not enough sauce. Our server was great. A big plus - diet Dr. Pepper. The travels today bring us to "Nut" Country - Ohio State University (the exit sign didn't have "the" in front of it) A local diner with wood fired pizza. The pizza was great. We chose the olive oil base and spinach with 3 cheeses + pepperoni. I had the side salad and root beer. This place used to be a 7-Eleven until 2 years ago (this coming March) much of the dining room decor is from owners previous bars. The server is an OSU student soon to graduate this spring. Very cozy and warm feel and a warm welcome and hospitality. My travel co-worker is getting a tour of the kitchen now, he's also chef by trade. The pizza chef makes the dough and sauce. Awesome, for a campus bar on tailgating Saturday. It was packed outside by the stage, on the inside and on the patio. Yet we still found two seats. The prices were reasonable as well. They had a game day menu. Several options are available wings, burgers, fries, and pizza. We opted for the basket of fries with bacon and cheese. Perfect size for us to share. I got a Leinenkugel's Summer Shady, and my man got a CBC IPA. Both regular solids drinks for us. We will definitely be back as they accept cash and cards...without a service fee. They also allow you to walk around, unlike the Varsity Club down the road. read more

I had a fantastic time here. It was our first time being here, so the waitress walked us through the menu and recommended some items. We were intrigued by their quesadilla and got that with our pizza. The pizza was pretty good. I may get double pepperoni next time, and the quesadilla was very tasty. Pro tip: Arrive early. Very small and maybe 20 parking spots but I didn't count. We arrived at 4:45 on a Saturday in March before a 7pm basketball game. The enclosed, heated patio was fairly open but the restaurant (former 7-11) was full. We found 2 seats at the bar and got comfy. The menu was 2 pages of apps, 12" or 16" pizza, salad, and samis prepared in a "quick fire" pizza oven. We ordered a 16" garlic pizza and a side salad. The pizza came with a ramekin of pizza sauce. It was a thin crust garlic bread with cheese. Super yummy. But WOW on the garlic! (Apologies to the lady sitting next to me at the Schott!) I was pleasantly surprised by the $7 side salad. The bowl was large and included crouton, tomato, cucumber and cheese. Plus my choice of dressing. Everything was fresh. They have a full bar. I ordered a $5 short Garage Beer. My husband, a Pepsi. Service was fine for sitting at the bar. About 4 or 5 people helped us. Food was delivered quickly. We saw a sign advertising $3 slices and $3 pitchers on Fridays. This is one of those places that check a few bare boxes for you. It's on campus. They have beer. They have food. It's by no means amazing food - everything was "okay" but I can barely recall anything standing out as "I wish I ordered that." It was just "yeah, campus bar food!" Nothing wrong with that! We ordered liquid dope, which evidently wasn't something they were overly familiar with, and that makes me a little sad (but, that's more nostalgia, not "they failed"). The downfall of the place is... it is SO DAMN LOUD. Every sound echoes. A table nearby, despite not being next to, felt like we were IN their conversation, and their laughs and cheers and screams just overtook the bar. Maybe it's better when there are more bodies in there, but for a couple tables? It just was not a place I'd want to hit up again during a "non-busy" time. So for what it is? It's good. You're not going to be wishing "damn, I wish I had some more of that food..." or "they can make a mean... poured beer." And that's great for them. It's a great damn campus bar, and they nail it well. read more

Great service during the game. They had someone come up to us while waiting in line and took our order for beers and pizza. They were very efficient getting customers taken care of during an incredibly busy time. Nice selection of beers and wood fired pizza was delicious. I absolutely love coming here for OSU game days. It's such a fun place to tailgate and it's always packed. They just opened up the inside bar this season and it adds a whole new element to the place. They have a huge outside that is lined with beverage / food stands and a big stage up front where they always have amazing live music. The bands play 2 hours before kick off and 2 hours after the game is over. Any other time they have a DJ playing good music to keep the party going. The energy is always high here and I always have such a fun time. The inside bar is a full service bar and they also have a kitchen where they serve standard bar food. They also serve pizza which is my personal favorite. I didn't have high expectations upon first ordering it but I was actually pleasantly surprised because it was delicious! One of the best parts is that they have TVs inside and outside. On the inside they have TVs all over the walls so you can sit at a table and enjoy some food & beverages. Outside they have one huge screen TV to the right of the stage that's easy to see wherever you are outside. So when the weather is nice you can choose to watch the game inside or outside which is a nice option to have. All in all if you're looking for a good tailgate spot or somewhere fun to watch the game I would highly recommend the O. I've been going here for pretty much every home game for the past two years and I love it! read more

I highly recommend gameday mornings with live bands in the lot and outdoor services. As far as the food goes I absolutely love the pizza and watching them prep it and cook in the wood burning oven. The wings ares some of the best you will ever find. Lots of different flavors to choose between and I especially like the Buffalo hot, Sriracha and barbecue. The pretzel bites and cheese were great as an app and shaped like buckeyes. Plenty of seating inside and table service that is quick and friendly. Went on a rainy Tuesday night a few friends. Restaurant was maybe 20% full. Started with four appetizers to utilize the daily special. One of the four was wrong when we received our order. The food was mediocre at best. I could have made better nachos at home. The loaded fries were like McDonald fries with nacho cheese and were a 6/10. Out waitress never came over to check on us.
