I'm from a college town in NC, so this mall seems really nice to me! It has a pretty good selection of stores... a really new one is called Cotton On, which originated in Australia, so I am super excited that it's here now! They have a nice food court (chik-fil-a being my favorite) and an awesome play area for the kids! Not to mention the other nice stores like Sephora, Payless, Victoria's Secret, and the Motherhood Maternity store. Overall I think that they have a great selection of stores, and it's a fun place to take the kids if it's too late or nasty outside for the park! read more

This mall is definitely dated, but honestly I have been coming here for years, and I have many memories of shopping here. I will say that there have been some improvements and additions here in the last few years. So until a new mall is built, I will continue to shop here, even though it may not be as cool to shop here than the Town Center in Jacksonville. read more

A good selection of stores as well as places to eat. We ate at Red Robin and the food was good. There was a wide selection of stores to walk into and most stay open until the mall itself closes. Good place to stop while visiting the Gainesville area, especially if you're interested in Gator merchandise! I recommend eating in the food court for a quick meal or eating in one of the many restaurants if you prefer being waited on. read more

Its the only mall in the UF-Gainesville area so there isn't any other option for shopping. Its a small shopping mall but it has most of the stores college students would go to. read more

Its above your average mall. It was very crowded but I guess this is the main mall in Gainesville. Its right off the Interstate so if you need to rest and walk this would be a great place to do so. read more

Oh what a relief... A mall 45 minutes from lake city! I will forever praise the moment I saw it from the car window as we were pulling in! It looked promising on the outside. Being new to the part time life in lake city I find myself a bit bored and wondering why there is no mall!! A girl has to shop!! During our girls day stopping in to have some retail therapy was just what we needed. First stop Victoria secret! The minute you walk in the welcoming faces are there to greet you. They Informed us of tax free week! I'm at a mall and it's tax free week?! Holla!!!!! Ladies... 5 pairs of undies for $27 and you can mix and match!! The women that work there were so helpful and nice! I believe the lady that helped my friend and I was named Jamie! Truly a sweet lady! I'm so happy I was finally able to shop! Unfortunately, we were on a time crunch and that was the only store I was able to see but I am very eager to get back to check out the rest of the stores!! The Oaks Mall - Shopping Centers Near Me - Gainesville, Florida

It's a mall!!! Layout is ok with a few anchor stores but has a lot of change in other stores. Parking can be a pain as well as access to the mall. Large food court with ample seating. Can get very crowded as most malls. Hate going to the mall but go to shop at some of the anchor stores they have there. read more

It's a good mall to shop at! We need more stores for young teens! We have stores that are for like 15 year olds or 20 year olds but not that much clothes for people who are 11/12/13.But this mall is really good it has good stores to shop at and food! read more

I have to say I don't mind this mall too much. It's a staple when visiting Gainesville and has the stores to needed to get the job done. It's definitely no shopping experience like in Miami. They have the typical stores JC Penney, Macy's, H&M, Forever 21, and their food court is not too bad either. I think they could add some stores, but overall a good mall. read more

I haven't been here in quite some time. I went to UF in the mid to late 90's. The mall seemed so much better back then. I guess I'm used to larger malls with better selections now. Don't get me wrong, I've seen worse than this one. The food court was super small. I think with a half dozen places to choose from. And being busy, all of the tables were dirty. And the restrooms were pretty dirty as well. My main reason for stopping in was for my friend to find a Gator shirt before the game. I was shocked at how many stores didn't have any! What?? So we left without buying anything except lunch. Oh well. read more

My friend and I stopped at the mall to try and buy a Gator tank top but couldn't find any! We ended up having lunch which needless to say there was very little selection of what to eat so we settled for Chick fil aid. Tables were nasty and bathrooms were yucky. The Mall is dated but don't we love the memories of coming to the Mall decades ago. It actually reminds me of Marketplace Mall in New York.

They can't keep businesses they want, and they run everyone else out. Besides one guy in their security team their security is a joke, and unprofessional, parking is a pain. I also actively avoid this place as they request no firearms allowed so forget it if your concealed carry. Both because there's never anyone in it and because the selection in the stores is just poor -- even in the big department stores that are in every mall in the country. Pro tip: Take the bus unless you want your car wrecked by people who don't understand the concept of "Incoming Traffic Does Not Stop" at stop signs. read more

Some of the reviews on here are very deceptive. We almost didn't come here. But we gave it a shot and we're very pleasantly surprised. I'll agree the parking lot & adjoining streets are a little confusing ...but aren't all parking lots that way? The food court isn't large..but it's adequate. We don't usually eat at them anyway. Much rather go to a local restaurant. And malls never open early...duh! They have a very good mix of popular stores and shops. We will come again. No complaints! the pacsun store in there had two employees that never greeted me of my girlfriend, or even acknowledged us. both employees were talking to each other when i walked in and when i was leaving. they didn't even look at us and there was no one at the register so obviously i had to walk out. never will i ever return to pacsun again read more

Recently had a package stolen at Oaks Mall. Security is terrible and did nothing to help. They kept telling us they would have the police call us to report the theft. Went into the office at the mall 4 different times. All we needed was a narrative of the incident and they said they would give the info to the police to call us to get our report. Waited one month for the call. Sergeant Quezada was very rude to us when we called and when my son went to the mall for the 3rd time telling us it was not the mall security's issue. Then why do they have security at the mall? All they had to do was to tell us in the beginning that we could file a police report online with the Gainesville PD who I contacted and immediately talked with a nice lady who gave me correct info on filing the report. The security guard could have been nice enough to give me that info in the first place and I would have not wasted so much time. I am very frustrated with the whole situation. I was told by other people who worked at the mall that theft happens a lot and security does nothing to help catch the perpetrators. read more

If you plan to take your lovely children to see Santa at this mall don't bother! A new "company" is now in charge and complete jerks when it comes to interaction with the kids. We were not greeted warmly, tersely told that if we wanted to snap our own candid photo that we had to buy a package. Every year the canned photo looks terrible and nothing I would want to keep. My candids always come out great and we would spend time in the mall and grab a coffee or buy a treat or whatever. Not now, that place has gotten where it is no longer a fun experience for the kids. There were no signs or warnings about a change in the rules or company etc. Even if we didn't want to snap a photo, they were still offish and rude because we happened to have a camera. I am guessing it had to be guilt about working for such a crappy company. Dear Oaks Mall, next year we will drive right on by, heck I would rather drive to Lake City than go through that again. read more
