The decor is nice and fits the local area well. Now for the negative unfortunately. We were not greeted upon entering. We sat ourselves at a table and after waiting for 15 minutes I went and got menus for the table. After waiting another 10 minutes we were able to flag someone down to get our drink order. We ordered a Bayou Dog meal and the lunch special (chopped steak). We waited another 30 minutes for our food. The "Bayou Dog" was lukewarm at best and was really just not good. It sounded great on the menu but the whole thing was a letdown and I believe the only sauerkraut was the one little piece of cabbage you see in the picture. My dining partner said the chopped steak was in small little pieces. Just weird. We gave up on drink refills or getting our check at the table and went to the counter to pay so we could leave. I have heard good things about breakfast so I will give that a try. The good news is this is a new business and they will hopefully learn a lot and make some improvements as they go along.

It's close to ball park food, and I don't mean big league kind. I imagine at some point they probably had fresh made burgers on the grill or smash burgers, sadly, this is not the current state of affairs. Burgers taste like frozen US foods prepackaged without any seasoning. The fries don't have any seasoning, but at least they serve them with salt and pepper packets in the drive-through so you can live in them up. I will say that the staff is consistently, friendly, though the level of service is not always the same. And the facility seemed fairly clean.

I went with the King Conecuh Dog and a strawberry soda, and let me tell you--it hit the spot. The hot dog was 100% beef and packed with flavor. Mine was topped with perfectly grilled onions and bell peppers, and the combination was absolutely delicious. It was the perfect late-night snack. The service felt like good ole Southern family-style hospitality, the kind that makes you feel like a regular even if it's your first time. There is a little burger stand like this in the town where I grew up. You can walk up and order through the window or you can go inside and order, sit, and eat. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I was there on a weekend so it wasn't busy but there was a steady stream of people coming up to the window. The menu has anything you want as long as it's a hamburger. I got a double. It had a good, char-grilled texture and flavor. The bun was fresh and soft and the lettuce, tomato, toppings were good. The fries were wonderful. It's a little pricey (and they wanted to charge me for a drink refill) but that won't keep me from coming back. Recommended.

The fries looked to be hand-cut, but were limp and undercooked. They were seasoned lightly in some areas and heavier in others, the seasoning was really good, just wish it was consistent. When I think of a Smashburger, I think of patties flattened on a flat top and smashed down thin with a nice meat lace on the edges. These were thicker burgers, didn't seem too much on the smash side. The patties were not very flavorful, and I really couldn't taste the cheese on the patties. Which was kind of weird. Other than the fries that I didn't order, my burger was prepared promptly and correctly as requested.
