I cannot recommend The Orchard at Caney Creek enough! We had an *actually* perfect day, and it was all thanks to the amazing staff, including our awesome coordinator, Haley, for the work they put towards our wedding day from start to finish. Haley was attentive, knowledgeable, and fun, and guided us through each step of the process. She has found her calling here and we owe our beautiful day to her. I truly am not aware of a single thing going wrong on our wedding day - which I know is rare - but, even if it had, I'm confident that Haley handled it with so much grace that we didn't even know. The venue itself is gorgeous, with acres of pecan trees, multiple lovely options for a ceremony site, a wrap-around porch looking out over lakes and trees, and a beautifully curated interior perfect for any style. There are several houses available for lodging on the property, each one thoughtfully made for guests, family, and a wedding party alike. There was amazing lighting and plenty of space throughout the Orchard House for the girls to get ready in, and lots of room and activities in the Lodge for the guys. Every house was beautiful and complimented the venue as a whole. (Side bar - everyone agreed that the beds are really comfortable, haha.) I could go on and on about this venue, and truly miss the environment we had here on our wedding day already. Getting married at the Orchard at Caney Creek was the best decision I had made for my wedding. From the day my husband and I toured the venue, we knew it would be our first pick. The venue is located outside of major cities and is peaceful and beautiful. We especially loved that they were almost all-inclusive and had on-site accommodations, which made it easy for my husband and me to navigate and even gave us a moment to soak it all in before and after we got married. Haley, the venue manager, who was also my day-of coordinator, was excellent! Haley made wedding planning and wedding day seamless. Her work ethic is impeccable. She was helpful whenever I had questions or doubts and always responded promptly. Throughout the process, she wasn't afraid to make suggestions; she was patient with me when I was undecided and flexible with changes. On the wedding day, her team was very professional; they worked seamlessly, and my family and I received great service. It was so great that multiple guests kept asking how we found them. Another stunning beautiful wedding venue to see! You would never know it but in the outskirts of Texas countryside, lies a beautiful Pecan orchard out in Wharton, Texas. It's an hour away from Houston so it's not too far a drive. Even though I drove the 4 hours to get there from Dallas, it was worth it. The thing about the venue has got to be the scenic amounts of space. NOTE: This review is purely on the basis of a spectator. I have no knowledge of the actual services, prices, or limits that the Orchard offers. But anyways TONS of photo opps are here. Beautiful trees, a little lake, a Gazebo, and lots of space to walk around. What's the real kicker? There are HUGE turtles living in the murky waters around the lake. If you're lucky you'll catch one swimming around or if you're smart you'll bring bread to lure them towards you. They even have a few little houses for the guys to chill in with a pool table while the girls are getting ready in another house. There's also a tiny little home for holding a reception. The only thing I would note is the lack of lighting at night. They didn't have christmas tree lighting or anything of that sort which would have been a nice touch in the evening. read more

The Orchard at Caney Creek is certainly a beautiful venue! I and another person recently coordinated a wedding at this venue, and upon meeting with Susan and Jeff I instantly liked them. Meeting and talking with them a few days before the rehearsal was a pleasure, and when I ran into Jeff on the rehearsal day, and on the wedding day, Jeff was very courteous, and proved to be very, very helpful. I was shocked to see that not everyone on the venue was as pleasant and helpful as Jeff. Sandy was very brisk and almost cold like the day that we met her (the day of the wedding). My co-coordinator and I were running around making sure that everything and everyone was accounted for, and Sandy, to say the least, was very unhelpful. We felt like we were in HER way, when we were making sure that everything was set up according to the bride and groom's wishes. She was snappy and brisk, and was not very professional at all throughout the duration of the night! Any question that we had (and we had some- it being the first time we had been at the venue) left us feeling sorry that we even asked her. Towards the end of the night, I happened to come upon Sandy (while looking for Jeff) with an inquiry. Sandy, spilled lemonade and water all over the front of my dress- with a good portion of the night to go! She apologized for the spill, but what's done was already done. My dress was soaking wet, and I had to walk around the rest of the night coordinating in a stained dress. I will say that the wet and stained dress was the least of my worries- it was the lackluster and insincere apology that I received that made me walk away with the thought of how someone could be so unprofessional towards a guest at their venue! Based on my interaction with Sandy, I would only recommend this venue to future brides if the coordinator doesn't have to work with her. Perhaps there was a lack of miscommunication and misunderstanding on my part, but if Sandy is going to work with coordinators, then there needs to be a softer personality because after all, we are all there for the same reason- to ensure a great wedding. read more

I booked this venue for my wedding and it was perfect for us. We were on a smaller budget and this venue provided us with a local option for a very classy wedding within our budget that offered all of our needs. We used the small guest cabins for lodging for some of our out of town family and they were very nice, except there were no televisions so that made it kind of boring. As a wedding venue, we couldn't have asked for more. We had about 150 guests so we used the clubhouse and the outdoor patio. We used the on site catering and it was outstanding. While this venue isn't as fancy as some Houston venues it offers a beautiful outdoor setting, great catering, and an affordable price. read more

From the moment we finished our first tour of The Orchard, we knew this was the place! Susan and Jeff were incredible to work with, honest, and very helpful. The Orchard made planning very easy, emailing and calling us throughout the process. Pictures do not do it justice, the property is beyond beautiful! We were so glad we decided to rent the lodging for 2 nights for family and friends. It made the whole experience that much more special, to spend quality time with close friends and family. They were always so quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had, and also gave tips and recommendations that we used to make things easier and run smoother. The food was out of this world and the only problem you will have is deciding what to have on your menu! Our friends and family cannot get over how good everything was, it's great to hear still. Sheridan was amazing as our Wedding Coordinator, she was on top of everything all day, it took a lot of stress off of our shoulders. We really got to enjoy ourselves and did not have to worry about anything that needed to be done. We just loved every single minute of our wedding, everything was perfect! We searched for a place to renew our vows and finally have the wedding we didn't get the chance to have 15 years ago. We called around a few different places but The Orchard at Caney Creek was the first and only place we visited. As soon as we drove up the property we fell in love! To top it all off the staff is so friendly and are quick to treat you like family and made us feel so welcome. We never felt any pressure from them and really felt like they were there to help us make the best of our day. The day of coordinator was my lifesaver and allowed us all to enjoy our day without worrying about what we needed to do next. She stayed on top of things and running so smoothly. It is difficult to even begin to express what a special place The Orchard at Caney Creek is - the beautiful location (even better than the pictures), the exceptional people from the owners Susan & Jeff Smith who personally hosted the event and treated us like honored guests in their home to their staff/servers who were so professional and helpful (several guests in the hospitality industry remarked on the wonderful service), to the unbelievably delicious and plentiful food and excellent bar service. I haven't even mentioned the wonderful accommodations on-site - if it works with your plans definitely plan on staying on-site. We arrived Friday afternoon and had our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner on-site and the entire wedding party and immediate families stayed the night in the beautiful, homey accommodations - plenty of towels, linens, shampoo, conditioner, coffee, etc. The wedding party proceeded to party well into the evening - enjoying the large fire pit and Adirondack chairs out on the patio area, pool table, big screen TV, etc. On Saturday morning, everyone enjoyed a big breakfast that we cooked ourselves on-site (everything you need to cook - serving dishes, platters, dishes, flatware, glasses, full size appliances) and then preparations began. We had several of the groomsmen fishing in the creek, tossing the football around in the orchard, watching the games on the big screen TV (and recovering from the evening before). Susan & Jeff could not have been more accommodating (Jeff even ordered the UFC fight for the after party Saturday night and even joined us to catch a few rounds!) Many of out guests questioned the location (Wharton ??? what the he**) but when they saw it they understood the appeal - dancing on the deck under the stars (and the beautiful café lights gracing the deck), enjoying a s'more around the cozy stone fire pit, strolling down to the softly lit gazebo for a private moment - it was magical. I recently went to/ was in a wedding here and all I can say is WOW!! I was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of the venue and service. Being a bridesmaid can often times be even more stressful than being the bride! But Sandy, Jeff, Susan and their whole crew made it so easy to just sit back, relax, and enjoy my beautiful friends wedding.
