What a cute little shop!! I love that their meats are organic, GMO-free, and the beef is grass fed. I stopped in here during my lunch to check the place out. I bought (2) portions of stuffed salmon, a few fresh scallops and eggs. I was hoping that they would have fresh shrimp, but this is a Butcher shop, not a seafood shop. ;-) The gal that waited on me was very friendly. I will definitely be back!!

Beef brisket lunch, mashed potatoes and coleslaw. This usually comes with a cookie bar but they ran out this day.

One of my favorite places to grab lunch. Brisket is cooked well, sauce is tangy, the side dishes are on point and the lunch plate is filling as a whole. I have also been in here several times to get things for dinner. They have a great selection of specialty meats, seafood, sides, breads and other items. I love that everything is fresh, organic and local to N.C..

Carolina Butcher Shop has horrible customer service and is overpriced. Angier Meat Market has bad cuts and low quality meats. The Butcher Market in Holly Springs is insanely expensive. It's either Costco or here for me. I subscribe to their text messages for specials and every week they change but they always have something that's a good deal. This past week they had Dino ribs for $4.99/lbs. They are usually $9.99/lbs and this is one of the only shops I can actually find real plate ribs and not beef back ribs which are way thinner. They also had tomahawk ribeyes on sale for $12.99/lbs. For reference Carolina Butcher shop had them on sale for $19.99/lbs and Costco was $16.99/lbs...so a great deal. There is a bell by the back that you can ring and ask for help with a cut or if they have more inventory of a specific item. They often have great deals on marinated wings usually $0.99/lbs. The selection of BBQ rubs and sauces is unmatched in this area. For example, they have most of the Meat Church rubs for $10.99/lbs and the others might have a couple and charge $14-15 for a bottle. And the selection is crazy...they probably have 70-100 different BBQ rubs on the shelf....it's just insane. Service is always great, the staff is really friendly and kind, just what you'd expect from a ma and pa community store. It is pretty small and gets crowded quickly but the lines move fast.

Lee's Fresh Market is great!!…read more They offer great prices on superior quality meats as well as a modest selection of pantry staples, milk, and country butter. They also do meat processing. Check the specials each week for even better prices. And check out the bulk boxes, if you're looking to stock up the freezer. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Lee's Fresh Market is the real deal. Check them out!!

I first came here a while back in pursuit of a USDA Prime steak. They routinely carry both Prime and certified Angus ribeyes and strips as well as other cuts of beef, poultry, and salmon. I have only had the steaks, and they are outstanding. The other cuts of meat appear to be of the highest quality. I have also tried their smoked salmon dip, which is excellent, and their chicken salad, which has boldly flavored chicken (grilled?) and is as good as any you will find anywhere. They also have an astounding array of refrigerated or frozen take-and-bake meals. I've not had any of them, but they look fabulous. So if you're looking for something to grill or a prepared meal for you and your family because you're sick of cooking during this time of stay home/isolate/quarantine, I would highly recommend Gate City Butcher Shoppe. If you are hunkered down and not leaving the house at all, then I highly recommend that you visit GCBS on the day the stay home order is lifted, e'er it come. P.S. I'm sorry if "I'm into Something Good" is now playing in a loop in your head. At least it's a cute little song, a 1964 Carole King composition that Herman's Hermits took to #13 on the charts.

The butcher shop meets the same needs today, just not as social in nature, and the packaging has changed, as have the prices. This neat place is indeed a country butcher shop, with little personality, and completely void of charm, but offers some very nice, very interesting meat products, as well as the stray veggie or two - like Cabbage Collards, offered cooked or raw. Much of what is here is of the pork persuasion, but beef and chicken are also represented -there is even a cow at the top of their roadside sign. But the pork products rule, in variety and level of interest. There are whole Country Hams hanging from racks in the middle of the shop, and slices of ham packaged in the refrigated, display area. They have Bacon - regular sliced and slab; Sausage - fresh country breakfast sausage, smoked sausage, old timey air dried sausage - regular or hot. Also packaged slabs of Liver Pudding, Souse Meat, Side Meat, Smoked Neck Bones and Ham Hocks, and even fresh Cracklings for your cornbread. If you like pork products other than Eastern NC BBQ, you should give this place a shot. We were actually on a multi-restaurant road trip when we ran across this place - pork leading to pork - Life Is Good.
