I see a lot of hate comments 1 star comments. I know from my experience buying from here on 3 different occasions that I got what I paid for with zero issues. It's New Bedford I expect the workers to be trash and that's why when I buy a mattress I always brought it home myself. Management...Tonight my rating is very low...yesterday I had no problem purchasing a Mattress for over 500.00..mattress only...today I bought a mattress cover, the package stating that the cover was " Deluxe Fabric"..upon bringing it home and opening the package, I found the mattress cover to be no more than paper...all of it...paper with a zipper..So I re-packaged it, and you know how that goes...I couldn't get it in perfectly in the zipper pouch, but I brought it back...upon entering the store i went to the service desk and was informed that I had to wait for management that she would be back soon...so I waited...I explained to the cashier that I couldn't get the cover back into the package..but it never went on the bed...SO the manager came in..looked at the package and said.." I cant take this back its opened.." So i said...it wasn't used I bought it a few hours ago...Management said...." there's a fabric sample on the bag..." yes there is but when it stated" deluxe fabric" I figured the part on the mattress was fabric and the rest less than fabric...which would have been OK....She then instructed the cashier" refund her money and throw the package in the trash because I cant do a FUCKING thing with it!": I was appalled that she would use such language, in front of the other customers...and their children waiting to be cashed out....I really think...from the previous complaints of management here that BOBS..needs to re-vamp their leadership people....I had a friend ready to purchase a daybed there...and mattresses...for well over 600.00.....NOPE...not happening...we will go elsewhere....for ALL our needs....If I could Id return the mattress I bought yesterday!!!!!!!!! read more

I attempted to pick up a mattress and foundation three times and have been unable to due to the incompetence at the New Bedford location. I have now been sleeping on a couch for over one week. This is unacceptable. I was informed by Cindi on 12/21 that my mattress and foundation had arrived at the store and they needed 24 hours notice to have it picked up. I arranged to pick this up on 12/22 @ 4PM. Upon arrival at the store, I informed an employee why I was there. I was made to wait more than half an hour before said employee contacted another employee who knew where my slip was located as this was an online order. At this time, I was informed that my set was not in the store and had never been taken out of the warehouse. I then made arrangements to pick it up the next day. On Saturday 12/23, I called the store and stated that I would be unable to pick it up due to inclement weather. I reported that I would be there on 12/24 and was told that they were open until at least 3PM. I called on Sunday 12/24 to confirm that the mattress and foundation were available for pickup and was informed that they were not in the store. Due to the holiday, I would not be able to pick my items up until Tuesday 12/26. I do not own a truck and had to borrow one for this pickup and therefore had to wait until 12/29. On 12/29, I called the store again to verify that my set was in the store. I arrived at the store at 6:40PM and waited for over 20 minutes for them to find my slip. They verified that my order was in the store and I was asked to back the truck up to the front door for loading. I backed up the truck and waited for another 20 minutes in my vehicle. I sent my mother inside to see why it was taking so long and she was informed that the employees "didn't know where we went" so the mattress and foundation were just sitting in the lobby this whole time. My mother and I checked the order numbers and discovered that the boxspring was not part of the set that I had ordered online. Upon further investigation, I realized that the top of my slip clearly stated "Boxspring not in? 12/29", which leads me to believe that they were aware that my foundation was not part of the set that I had ordered and they were trying to pass it off as though it was. I informed the woman (Dottie) that I would not be taking the set, and would like a full refund. Apparently that isn't going to be an easy transaction either. What really blows my mind is the absolute unprofessionalism of this whole experience. Not only does no one know what they are doing, but the staff is rude! I will never shop here again. read more

WARNING****STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! A year or so ago I ordered a mattress set. Had it delivered. They delivered the wrong set. Took over a week to get the right one. About 6 months ago I purchased a living room set. Got it delivered. Guess what happened? They get it inside and then say... Oh, this isn't yours. Had to wait till the next day to get my set and I had already gotten rid of the old one. This past Sunday I went and purchased a table. Said I would pick up... Because they obviously don't know what they're doing when they send things out for delivery. I send my husband to go pick it up yesterday, he paid a friend who has a truck to go with him and get it. I get home an hour later. Wouldn't you know they gave him the wrong set???? And don't bother trying to call because they keep the phone off the hook! I had to go back to the store obviously without the table with me because my husband's friend with the truck had already left. They said they could exchange it but asked where the table we picked up was. I told them they needed to deliver the right one and pick up the wrong one because it was their mess up. Manager goes out back... When she comes back to the front she says oh, yeah, your box has your name right on it. Was told they would call between 11-12 to set up delivery time. It's now 1 and no phone call. Tried calling endless times .. busy signal...because like I said, they keep the phone off the hook. My fault for thinking things would be better this time around because I wasn't relying on them delivering. Boy was I wrong!! I'll never give them my business again. We just bought a bed at a decent price. We are new parents to twins and needed a new bed frame. My husband noticed when picking up the bed that the hardware wasn't easily found within the pieces. He called bobs to ensure that they included the hardware when packing the bed. He was getting some help putting the bed together that wouldn't arrive until the store was closed. When the help arrived, they looked for the hardware and it wasn't available. My husband and I had to sleep on the floor. The next day my husband called and the hardware was found in 5 mins. The manager was extremely rude when we asked for something to be done. Poor customer service and unprofessional management. Needless to say, we will be taking our business elsewhere in the future. I am appalled with the inept and unprofessional behavior exhibited by the manager at this store. They refused to accept in return a ripped futon which was discovered damaged upon arrival home saying they would only accept it in the same condition it was sold. I maintain since it was wrapped in plastic and rolled like a carpet how would we know. We were within the confines of the return policy. She was adamant that we ripped it. I went there and they were out of the bed I was going to buy so they had another store ship it out to me and I would have to wait approximately 3-5 days so when I got there to pick it up they sold it to someone else and didn't even reserve it for me. So I purchased a mattress and box spring Friday and was told that it would be ready the following Sunday for pick up .I get there Sunday morning hand them my receipt kid delivered it to the fro t of the building and assisting manager tells me sorry that belongs to my other customer that was waiting two weeks for it!!!!! (What the hell) and she rudely tells me I have to now wait two weeks for mine .Long story short after going back and forth I tell her my kid threw his mattress out he has no mattress to sleep on .her answer was sorry can't do anything about it I told her to call the manager and after three attempts I was told to take the floor model .This is some crazy shit I told her floor model really this one with the stains on it.Now after going at it with them for at least 15 minutes with our voices blaring she almost has a solution she tells me to pick a temporary mattress but it has to be cheaper than the one that I'm getting and it you can use it until you get yours delivered to the store. So I ask her the assistant manager when my mattress comes in can you have the courtesy to deliver the mattress to my home when it come in and pick up the replacement mattress.nope not without a charge .So here we go again in front of customers so un professional .So finally she's talking to the manager free delivery and pick up not like it made my day but at least it was something. Buyer beware! Last year (on tax-free day) I spent over $1000.00 on a large sofa with "end tables and coffee table" plus a $50.00 delivery fee. When the truck arrived with our items, my husband took pictures of how my sofa was placed in the truck partially covered with plastic and mostly on the dirty truck floor. The delivery guys broke my storm door's tempered glass. Of course I went to Bob's Discount store and complained to the manager; to which she showed me my signed disclaimer releasing them from any fault if any damage were to occur during delivery and transfer objects into my home. Oh and she also stated that her employees offered to take the door off its hinges so as to eliminate or minimize damage (that was a lie)! She said the she believed her boys and not her customer (me). Also buyers, be sure to check any piece of furniture thoroughly because they hide all the damages and once that disclaimer is signed you lose any chance for a refund! My coffee table had deep scratches but they were hidden so that by the time I noticed it was too late. Management was rude and unprofessional! She needs a lesson in Public Relations. read more

This place is by far the worst place you could do business with! I am beyond disgusted with the way I have been treated the entire two weeks of my transaction. After coming into the store I was told I had to wait to for my order cause no store had it it was in warehouse I'm reasonable that's fine. I wait seven days an call the see if there would be a delievery date, but I couldn't get threw just busy signal and like most people I work so I forgot now Thursday after work I remember I try to call again I have in my call log call at one point called 35 times not once did the phone ring. Then sat rolls around I try again in the 17th time I get a ring as about my order and get put on hold for a hour! So naturally I hang up and try to call again and it was busy for the rest of the day. In the mean time not that it matters my son who I bought the bed for has had to go to the ER spend all day getting test done and come home to his small first bed (mind you he's six) after we finally got him excited about his new bed because he has a hard time dealing with change and it still nvr comes! I facebooked the company thinking mabey that that will get me some where. NOPE! Explain I can't get threw and nothing call another location and nothing. Finally this sat moring after a whole other week goes by and getting a call Friday rain storm saying I can't pick up my order (that I had scheduled for delivery) because they are closing due to rain. Now I'm fumming mad because not only did they not even bother to call my phone the person who bought it they called my bf an emergency number for dropp off. So afternoon I try to call and as normal busy, but to my surprise after the 12th call I get someone on the phone an I as to speak to a manager I get hung up on. Now I'm really mad. Call back I get the manager who tells me I'm a Threatening manner she has been waiting for me mind you I've never spoken to this lady day in my life. So I try to explain what's going on she proceeds to cut me off so I decided I've had enough I'm just gonna go down to the store. She says yup and I'll be here now I'm raging mad. I go in she comes up front and tells me oh you're here for your refund I said no I'm here to find out where my Purchase is! I've already paid and waited I want what I paid for she tells me she doesn't want my business and I said you know what that's fine by me because you don't know how to run one anyways. She asked me for my receipt I handed to her then she has the audacity to throw the receipt back at me. Now for the most part I'm generally nice very understanding of customer service people I've always worked in customer service I understand it's a hard job I get it she was the older lady tried to be respectful but until I went off on her face respect was not given and that's not how business is conducted. I asked her for her general manager she told me she was the general manager yet I find that hard to believe. She sent me out to my car to get my debit card and I told her if I came back into the store and she had the same attitude I had no problem dragging her across the counter just because she was older didn't mean I wouldn't do it. I had never met this lady had never been spoken to by a manager but Once lied to said I would be called back and still couldn't be told if they even had the item I paid in full for. The woman nvr even let me get a word out. Fact that they think it's OK to treat people like this blows my mind and makes me wonder how the hell they're still in business I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

By far the worse experience I have ever had. I went in to purchase some furniture and could not get anyone to help us and when someone finally did he could not even answer any of my questions. I finally had to order from the kiosk they had in the store because they had a bed that I loved but no dresser or nightstand in the store to match. Finally found something online that I could work with. The day of delivery no couch nor bedroom furniture was being delivered when I asked where the couch was they told me that someone had forgotten to put it on the list and bedroom furniture because I had purchased it online would take up to 21dys to be delivered had someone told me that I would have never made that purchased as I currently have all my clothes all over the shelves of my closet and in bags and boxes. I had waited all day on Friday missing time out of work to basically get half my order and then the delivery driver who also happened to be the salesman who sold us furniture now I understand why he could not answer any of our questions because he should not being working the floor if he does delivery (yes im talking to you Juan) promised to bring the couch 1st thing Saturday morning and they tried to have me pay delivery fee again ummm no I do not think so, but it did not come on Saturday instead I had to fight with them to get it on Sunday. The weeks were just going by and going by with no call regarding my dresser and nightstand. I finally decided I waited long enough and started calling them phone was continuously busy and when I finally got someone I kept being put on hold cause no one could give me and answer as to where the hell my furniture was, finally miraculously they said it had just arrived in the store and we could set up a delivery date so mind you that was 3 times they needed to come to my house and they were going to make $180 just in delivery fees so I actually had someone with a truck get it for me. The people here are RUDE they have poor customer service skills they could careless about their customers yes they have good furniture at decent prices so if you do not mind aggravation/headaches and missing time out of work waiting all day for your furniture by all means check them out as for me I rather pay a little extra and have better customer service experience then deal with this place ever again. I do not even understand how they are still open and can not wait until the day I hear they went out of business cause KARMA is coming for you. warning**do not buy anything from this store.. all the bad reviews are true.. the management is very rude and unprofessional. i purchased a $600 mattress on layaway and was called twice letting me know when it came in and a second time as a reminder that it was there in the store that i could pick it up anytime. i told the girl i would be picking up the mattress that friday. so i go to the store with a uhaul to pick the matress up the sales people and gentleman we very nice and polite and explained to me the mattess was not there and that it was never rent from the warehouse.. so the girl goes over to explain what had happened to the manager and she said just come back tomorrow. i told her that i rented a uhaul for today because they told me to pick up the mattress anytime.. and if they could atleast deliver it for free because of the inconvenience. then all of sudden the manager and her friend yell across the store saying " give her a refund you aint getting s**t for free" calling me a liar and that no one called me .i had a recording of the phone message and call logs where they called me 4 days earlier . i couldnt believe how unprofessional that was. at first we didnt even know it was the manager because they we sitting on the couch in the back hanging out like they lived there swearing and talking about how" her man left her for that other b**ch" again very unprofessional. so apparently this company doesn't care about thier customers or losing money and its sad because i've been shopping here for years and so have my friends and family who i will be sharing my story with and i'm sure all the people who walked out of the store will too.. smh ( by all the reviews im wonder how this location is still in business!!!! ) read more

Okay, so pretty good variety and decent prices on select items, but unfortunately, what you see is what you get. I found a beautiful dining table set, fell madly in love, only to find out that it A) had two broken chairs and B) was missing a chair entirely. So then they want me to pay for a 7 piece set with 4 pieces. The employees are alright, not particularly rude, but not at all professional. Couldn't even tell who worked there and who did not. Then I couldn't help but see that all of their deposits are placed into a towering pile of Manila folders and put in a bucket, which might be nothing, but it definitely made me a little insecure about possibly losing my deposit. Not to mention, there was one poor girl working the counter, struggling to take on a line of 5 families and answering phone calls in between while two other staff members wandered around aimlessly chatting.
