They have various arts and canvases, dog beds and washing powder. So you can see the range is vast. They have some furniture including desks and bookcases as well. The shelves are usually well stocked unless it has been a good price and they have sold out. It is a good shop and one that I go to every now and then to see what the special offers are like. It is getting more popular as it becomes better known.

I personally like the layout and the large range of clothes for guys, but there are loads of clothes for children and ladies. I always find it nice to look around the home wares for those small decorative touches. The big Issue I noticed, as we were with family members who have mobility issues and both use walking sticks, was the lack of space at the tills.. The main store itself appears to me to have a far better amount of space than a lot of retail stores. As it was quite busy and with the large amount of XMAS promotional items in the queue lane and by the tills themselves, there was, in my opinion, insufficient space for people with mobility issues. I'm not sure how anyone in a wheelchair would manage to get to the tills and then manage to get back out without having to wait for each till being freed up first. All in all I like this store but there are something's that let it down, in my opinion.

The only negative I can think of is that the toys are on shelves and rows which as quite close together so you might have to wait to get into the shelf if there are a number of people looking at what you want to look at. They have various special offers on but you need a Matalan card to get them. The cards are free. There always seems to be a queue here but you do not spend long in them.

Most of Govan Cross Shopping Centre had been lying empty, as this had been a Co-op previously. Now them shops have been filling up like a pirate filling his bag full of booty. It's got plenty of good affordable stock, with lots of well known brands at low prices. There's toiletries, toys, domestic stuff, stationary, art materials and food and drinks, now including the alcomaholic kind. I've picked up many items cheaply, from toothpaste, hair dye, artist's canvas' to some grub for lunch. This place is bright and the staff are friendly. It's normally quite busy but they will open up another till if getting a bit mobbed, so never a long queue to be found. If I've needed materials for work, I've always been able to pick exactly what work's needed without spending a fortune. Good deals, good goods, good stuff!

This branch of Home Bargains in Govan wee-wees all over the one in Crow Road I am afraid to…read moresay...My first experience of a HB was the Crow Road shop & yes, I liked their mucho bargainous deals but it didn't totally blow me away...I had heard from my good friend Elizabeth F that Govan shopping centre also had it's own HB & it was a beezer ~ she was right! I don't know why but this shop seems to stock better, nicer & more varied items compared the Partick one. I have only been in this particular one about 3 times but every time I have always found the staff to be very nice, pleasant & helpful. The last couple of times I've been in they've had a member of staff actually helping you pack your bags at the till which is a really nice touch & doesn't feel like you're getting them to go out of their way to assist you. I am often in not long before closing time (after work) and they are always very courteous & polite regarding informing you that their store is closing soon; nae 'Oi! WE'RE SHUTTING!' or a loudspeaker to frighten you out the shop here, thankfully. HB offer a variety of goods from the edible to beauty to kids toys to gardening & household goods - I think of it as a nice (and usually cheaper) alternative to a pound shop or a B&M, although the latter I have never visited but from what I hear it is quite similar to a Home Bargains. Before Christmas I was in search of a reasonably cheap (but not illegal/dangerously cheap!) hot water bottle and couldn't find one anywhere that wasn't either a stupid expensive price or possibly banned in most countries. Step up Home Bargains! I wandered in after work not expecting to find any hot water bottles (hadn't seen any in the Partick branch) & looking for something else completely when ta-da! HB don't disappoint again ~ I found me some brilliant & cute looking (SAFE!) hot water bottles for a great price, I was so chuffed ~ people around me must've thought I don't get out much as I'm sure I did a wee yelp of delight when I seen them...! Oops. Alongside the hot water bottles I also managed to find some cracking Xmas deccos & also some lovely gifts for people too. A very successful shopping trip indeed. If you find yourself in need of household goods or cheap food/drink (they sell alcohol too - some real ales as well) then I would thoroughly recommend a visit to Home Bargains, this one in particular. It's very handy for the Govan subway & bus station too.

For two years I have been searching for a cover for my poor old passport. Not a bright pink one,…read morenot a Micky Mouse one, just a simple, understated one that will protect my already battered and bruised copy which is very much on its last legs. I was beginning to question whether they even existed, having searched high and low to no avail. Thank the lord, therefore, for B + M Bargains. You see, while I fully expected this shop to be a two star staple of cheap junk, B + M excels at providing those niggly items you can't find elsewhere. Cheap children's toys, cheap picture frames, cheap household items, you name it, they probably have it, albeit with a slightly altered brand name (e.g. Ultrapower Batteries). No sooner had I entered than I found a boxful of covers, even offering me a range of colours. Red, green, blue, black (which is what I opted for, if you're interested), for the grand total of 89p. B + M = bloomin' and marvellous.

But my tears dried the instant I entered B&M Bargains in Shawlands. From the outside it looked like a dump that sold a load of crap. Well it did sell a lot of crap but in amongst the crap was some genius stuff at ridiculously cheap prices. My boyfriend picked up a faux leather passport holder, something he had needed for ages, at the not to shabby price of 90p. A passport holder is exactly the sort of annoying thing you can't find anywhere. I found a great Bob the Builder kit for my toddler nephew which included a plastic saw, goggles, a name tag, a hammer and some nails for only £3.99. We saw some lovely cheap photo frames that would cost double the price in another shop. There was also a massive toiletries section with some great bargains. Annoyingly I live ages away from Shawlands but I will definitely be back.

The poundshop is easy to access but gets very busy so if you have a buggy it can get quite annoying trying to get passed. The shop itself sells a wide variety of stock as you enter you will see various batteries, being scottish they stock 'wee' bru (small bottles of irn bru), tea bags. The aisle as you immediately go in has various hair products, baby items including bibs, food and wipes. They also stock toys, books, dvd, other food stuff, diy and arts and crafts material for children. The stock does change ie in the summer they had camping and gardening items and now they have Christmas items but they always stock toys etc. etc. Your always best to check prices though for things such as toothpaste as sometimes it is cheaper if it is on offer at a supermarket but the majority of the time it is a good place to get that sought after bargain. It gets very busy at the tills and so if going with a buggy you would be best if possible to go during the week even then it is busy or have someone else with you to stand outside. All in all a good shop.

Staff always look miserable and management don't seem to not give a toss about customer service. Although this seems to be a company thing, one of those places that no matter how much you clean it, it will always look messy.
