We regularly have baseball games in the area and I drive by the place a lot. On Saturday we finally stopped in for a very late lunch, early dinner or linner as my son calls it. We had the grilled shrimp plater and kids popcorn shrimp. seriously, go there now! The food was hot and homemade. Place was absolute garbage. Just paid over $60 for inedible food. Chicken fried steak was fried in a dirty fryer, which I could taste from the breading. It was covered in more salt than ten horses could handle. "Grilled vegetables" were not grilled, extremely mushy and tasted of nothing but margarine and salt. No one at the table was happy with their food and on top of that, they did not have straws or half the items printed on the menu. read more

I had been wanting to try this place for a while because it had been hyped up by my job and a few people in passing. I ended up being highly disappointed! First there's only one cook in the back so it took a little longer for my order than I wldve liked. I got the 2pc fish & fries and the seafood mac. The fish didn't taste like regular catfish tho it was supposed to be. To me it tasted more like swai. And the seafood mac was just mac with baby salad shrimp in it. Wasn't really good at all. The food was great! It was our first time in. My son had the crab legs and loved them. I had the fried catfish and Cajun boiled shrimp. It was great too. Both meals came with corn which was very good. We also had the armadillo eggs which are large jalapeños stuffed with cream cheeses and meat...awesome. Our food began with the fried pickles. These are the chip/ slice type. They were some good chips. Good batter, different, but good...they came with ranch. Next came out orders: chicken fried steak and 3 pounds of crawfish. The chicken fried steak was very good with gravy and mashed potatoes; the crawfish was just okay and came with mushrooms, potatoes and corn on the cob. It was good but not standout. The atmosphere was interesting....better inside than out. Outside looked rough and was down in a low area= a little hard to get out of without 4 wheel drive or a dash through the red light. The inside was classic looking with an unfinished appearance and signatures hand written all over the walls. Plenty of tables or picnic tables to sit at. There is a bar and TV mounted on the wall. Good shack type feel. The price for us was each over our $15 mark but that is okay when you try places. They do have fountain Diet Dr Pepper. The service was friendly and typical. We probably won't go back here again because of sheer distance from us; however, if we were nearer, we would go back for the fried fish. read more

My wife's popcorn shrimp was barely fried enough to thaw it out. My CFS would be rated below Grandys. Hell, there were only 2 drink options, tea and water. They had let the drink machine fall into complete disrepair. Only 2 light fixtures were working the day we were there. Seriously the place is a complete dump. After hearing about this place for a while I finally made it out one evening for dinner. This is a BYOB dive with great food in a rustic no AC atmosphere. Wait staff is friendly, outgoing and relaxed. The food is somewhat spicy so be prepared for most items to have a little kick. The fried items were quite good as were the excellent hush puppies. The crawfish however are the big draw and I know in the past they closed after crawfish season. Other people we dined with rave out the po'boys and even the burgers. Chicken fried steak seems to be another favorite here and is a weekly special. Keep in mind this is a rustic dive with a gravel parking lot. I wouldn't dress up. Excellent food, with a concentrated menu. Only thing lacking are oysters, though I understand why they would be a burden on a small place like this. I had the fish(fried) and shrimp(grilled) combo, gator tail sausage, boiled mushrooms, and crawfish(spicy). All cooked perfectly with great flavor. The food was great! I got a shrimp poboy. It was spicy, very spicy. Great menu option, good range of prices and variety of options. The service was definitely not the best and when i asked our waitress about a menu item she couldn't tell me anything in it just that it was spicy. Everything was great except for the service! This past Saturday, I took my wife and daughter here. To be fair, we had been here 2 times before, and the prices were reasonable and the catfish very tasty. Not so this time. I'm not sure if they've changed owners or if the cook was just having a bad day, but wife's grilled catfish was inedible. Aside from 4 boiled (unpeeled) shrimp, my daughter could only eat the fries off of her $15 platter. Wife had ordered a $12 grilled catfish plate, and could only eat the fries. The Armadillo Eggs were good, but at $11 for an order of just 4, a bit on the expensive side. Add to the atmosphere that we were the only family dining in at 6:30 on Saturday night, and our server spent much of her time in the kitchen. The soda machine was broken, and the server said they were out of Cole slaw - hadn't been able to get any from their vendor. Sorry, but Sam's Club and Albertsons sells sodas and the makings for slaw - go there. I won't be back for a long time, if ever. Especially when one can buy an Admiral's Platter from The Catch on 4th Street for $18, which easily feeds 2 people, with leftovers. Amazing food and friendly service. The "indoors" is divided from the "outdoors" by walls with garage doors that are generally open and a normal door. The crawfish is seasonal, but they also have fish, shrimp, crab legs, burgers, and other food. They have jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese and seasoned beef wrapped in bacon, which are delicious, and alligator sausage. The crab legs, shrimp, and crawfish are all sold at market price, so it can potentially get expensive. The shrimp and crawfish come in three varieties: normal, spicy, and smokin' hot. I heard that the spicy was spicy enough, so try the smokin' hot at your own risk. I had my first pound of crab legs here, and they were delicious. They came with two small potatoes, half of a cob of corn, and some small mushrooms. The corn has a surprising kick to it, but was tasty. Took a moment to learn to eat the crab legs, but was enjoyable after mastering it. Just be sure to have plenty of napkins and be prepared to wipe crab juice off of your face after cracking a leg. Upon arriving server very friendly I ask about the hush puppies and was informed they were frozen not handmade which is fine. She came back and ask if I would like a sample which I thought was excellent customer service. I decided on crab legs which I had been craving. What a mistake they don't inform you that they are heavily sprinkled with cayenne or some type hot pepper powder all over them. I tried eating ONE LEG and my mouth and tongue was on fire. The server even offered me milk to put out the fire in my mouth. The corn was cooked so much that it has shrunk to tiny little pieces on the cob. I ask about it and was told they had fresh in the back but only for the people that COMPLAINED about it. So I received a fresh ear of corn and it was quite a improvement. The boiled potatoe was extremely over cooked and was like mush and had a big black spot inside it I'm not sure why you would even serve that. Upon getting ready to leave I was given the option of having my meal put in a Togo box. If I couldn't eat it there I couldn't eat it at home. And still was charged $21.00 for a meal I couldn't eat.
