While visiting the area we ran into this cigar shop. We looked around and my husband had a few questions since he's new to cigar smoking. We immediately felt the questions were unwelcome and he looked annoyed by them. We purchased a couple of cigars and left. The second visit wasn't any better. The. experience was HORRIBLE! My husband and his buddy went in to look around and asked if he (the owner) could recommend a couple of good cigars and the owner responded with they're all good. Again, bought a couple of cigars and left. Both came back saying the guy is an A--hole., he's rude and un-accommodating; 2x in the shop and we won't be returning. I've had two HORRIBLE experiences, the owner is very rude and arrogant! I tried the second time thinking the owner had a bad day the first time but nope same way and other people have had the same experience. Ironically the workers are nice and hopefully in both experiences. Maybe that need to teach the owner about customer service. read more

I think this business is going under.. Not because of the owner but because of the staff. I got four high end cigars and gave two away to friends i met in another bar which I truly liked. I went back to Paduca Cigar Company to get the same cigars I gave away and met the same people I gave the cigars to. These friends went upstairs to have their cigars. I asked both the bar staff if I could join to my friends who had some "membership" and they said they would not even ask. I could buy this place and they would not even ask my friends if I could join them. I'm never going back unless the.owner gets a clue. It's no way to run a business. He should fire his staff. I hope he doesn't go under. I'll buy it and fire all the staff. read more

Not sure why the owner has such a horrible attitude! They are a specialty shop, you'd think they would want to help customers.

I always take negative reviews with a grain of salt. Unfortunately, I found the bad reviews associated with this establishment to be pretty spot on. A buddy & I are both experienced cigar smokers & we decided to try this place out. It has a member & non member sitting area, a decent sized humidor with enough of a selection that just about anyone should be able to find a cigar to their liking. Overall, the shop itself isn't too bad (& thus, the two star rating). Unfortunately, the shop owner ruined the experience for us. We entered the store to find no one inside. As we stood there, the shop owner entered from the street entrance & walked up behind us. As he approached, we instantly got vibes from him that we were keeping him from doing something else. He asked, "Can I help you?" in the same tone that you might use with someone you have caught looking inside your parked car. Taken aback, we replied that we were looking to get cigars. He led us into the humidor where, when I began to close the door behind me, he abruptly ordered me to leave the door open, using the tone of a schoolmaster scolding a child for looking out of the window. When my buddy asked about a particular cigar, the owner responded in a slightly condescending tone, "Those are all over $20." We exited the humidor with the owner. As my buddy was paying for his cigar, I decided to go back into the humidor to look, as I had not quite made up my mind on what I was going to smoke that day. The owner actually stopped in the middle of my buddy's transaction, walked back into the humidor to brusquely inform me that I had to leave the humidor. "No one is allowed into the humidor by themselves." Never been kicked out of a humidor before! I asked him if he was having a theft problem, which he denied, then gave me a transparent excuse insinuating that I might have cigar questions. Once we returned to the humidor, he hovered over me, giving me the uneasy feeling that he was ready to snatch the cigars right out of my hand that he knew I would be shoving into my pockets by the bundle. After I picked out & paid for my cigar, my buddy & I sat & smoked for a bit. As we sat there, smoking, a customer entered the shop, & to our amazement, walked right into the humidor, exited with a cigar & walked back to the bathroom, without hardly any reaction from the watchful owner! I tried to chat up the owner, & to his credit, he did warm up slightly. Unfortunately, our experience was already ruined. The icing on the cake was when I asked him to refill my cigar lighter, which had run out of butane. He refused to put $1.00 worth of butane (at most) in my lighter because I was not a member. This was after my buddy & I had purchased over $30 worth of cigars from him. I don't think that the owner is setting out to be abrupt & condescending. However, his personality & delivery comes across that way. Not a good way to be in the customer service industry. My buddy is the former owner of a successful cigar lounge & I have been in cigar lounges literally from coast to coast. Most shops will fill your lighter if requested, as a common courtesy. In Florida, I have been assisted with cigars by Arturo Fuente, Jr himself, a man who has probably waited on 1000s of customers during his career. His enthusiasm in assisting me made me feel as if I was his very first customer to ever walk into his shop. The owner of The Paducah Cigar Company has a ways to go in his customer service attitude. We smoked about an hour & decided to leave. As we exited the front door, the owner gave us a cursory, "Thanks, guys." never bothering or taking the time to even look up from his cell phone. My buddy commented under his breath, "I'm surprised we're not being submitted to a pat down before we leave." With that, we left the store, never to return. read more
